gourcuff has played 2 full games in a matter of 2-3 days and a 3rd game within the span of a week could well be a bit too much for him. True he's young and has more energy and agility and also needs playing time to get accustomed to this team but these things take time and we have nor reason to rush him into that by draining every bit of energy the guy might have left.

Also, Seedorf has rested now and should be fresh or at least fresher than he was in his latest outings. Actually, one of the reason why I think Seedorf looks slow and lazy is because similar to Pirlo he's being played week in and week out or more precisely overplayed. Now that we have a suitable replacement for him, we could afford to give Seedorf more rest and in time this could bring us a better, faster and more agile version of Seedorf.

Either way, with all the injuries we have, we have to use all the depth in our squad wisely so that we don't overload certain players and that means Seedorf starting a number of games as well.
Gazzetta still anounces that Gourcuff is going to start the game. I dont think that 2 full games made Gourcuff tired, oppositely, i think that because he is young it is only good for him to play constantly. And because he plays really good now, I think, he should start the game.

Lampard has ( last season ) started in sooooooooo games in a row for Chelsea. How many times has Ronaldinho started for Barca? Sheva for Milan? Kaka'? Seedorf's slowness is not about being overplayed ( aldough I do agree he could be rested now and then ), but its about this: Clarence Seedorf has started his career with 17 years in Ajax ( correct me if I dont remember corectly ), and he is now 30. He has played in top speed for 12-13 years now, and he just got washed out. That is pretty simple and normal thing afted playing key roles in Ajax, Madrid, Inter ( well......), and Milan. After so much playing time body cant do it anymore, well not in all cases and in all players.
Clarence is now nearing to an end of his career, he has lost his speed and it can be seen even when he is sprinting. Due to loss of speed he cant make enough space for his passes and shots so that looks bad also. One thing leads to another, like with Cafu. He has been super class player so far, but not anymore. Its Gourcuff time and Seedorf can be only used as Rui was when Kaka' came to Milanello. Im 100% sure that if Carlo wasnt Milan's coach that Gourcuff would have the advantage in 80% of cases.

this isn't just about playing Seedorf or not but about not rushing Gorky as well.
How many times those players have played for their clubs? Well many obviously ... actually, maybe taht's why Lampard looked so drained out and literary average for Chelski in CL, and in a number of EPL games too, last year.

Maybe that's why Dinho has been playing like a squeezed orange lacking spedd and reactivity for the past half a year with only a moment of magic and trickery here and there.
Maybe that's why Sheva's body was forced to "take" a rest when none was given to it ... I am referring to his injuries towards the end of last season and basically throughout the entire season. See the human body aint a machine made of steel, actually, even machines wear out and break down if overlaoded and overused, what is left for the human body.

Many, if not most, of the injuries that we see happen to players are exactly that - signals that the body isn't prepared/ready to take all the laod that's being thrown at it.
So what makes you think that just because Lampard, Sheva, Dinho and whatnot played so many games, that was actually the best, the ultimate thing to do? Those players were played so often because they are virtually indispensable/irreplacable in the eyes of their coach and that forced the manager to put them under such great load. But does that mean that the coach did the best thing possible? Do you think Mourinho, Rijkaard, Carlo would have played the same players over and over again even when they weren't at 100% or when they should have been rested if they had a Lampard 2, or a Dinho 2, or a Sheva 2?

Also - and that's the thing that matters most because here we are talking about Gorky and using other players as an example is hardly a suitable thing to do since humans are strictly individualistic and different from one another - Gorky, unlike any of those players you mentioned above, is still barely 20 yo meaning that his bones and muscles are still in a phase of developement and he - his body that is - is not ready to take the loads the fully grown and developed body of a 25 or 30 yo player would successfully deal with ... and these loads amount in time with playing a number of games in a short period.

Do we really need to rush Gorky and push him hard searching for his limits i.e. getting him injured when we have a good player like Seedorf available to take some of the load off Gorky's shoulders? Seedorf may not be a spring chicken anymore and may not be as reactive as he was 5-6 years ago but isn't that bad either and with more rest he should turn in better perfomances, as well ... not to mention that an experienced player can always use his experience to compensate for the lack of speed in certain moments.

Ronaldinho plays worse becouse there is no Eto't to cover right flank in defence faze, and so on... Those were just an examples for few players. Of course we shouldnt play Gourcuff too much, I do agree with that. But im afraid we will play him too little, and that we will not use him in big matches. To be honest, Seedorf is playing pretty bad this season, he only had enough power for few opening rounds. But to get back to Cagliari game.......

What will we do to score? Oliveira will shoot from all over the place again? Pippo will faww down in every duel? I hope we can somehow win this one as that is wery difficuly away game even without Suazo in Cagliari team.

P.S. I just heard Curva Sud send sme kind of a letter to Berlusconi, they want Galliani out!

Makes a lot of sense to me, for the exact reasons you mentioned. Galliani did get us involved in Calciopoli, and failed to bring in any top notch players this summer. And we are suffering right now due to both those things.

Curva Sud boss send an e-mail to Berlusconi to demand he takes the club directly in charge again and that Galliani's transfer policy in the last years has been very poor, they don't demand him to throw baldie out but instead take in charge and start buying needed players.

They are also tired of Galliani's declarations in the press about how we are fine, have bad luck and don't need other players, it makes them mad, they want signings and results instead (who doesn't), so in short baldie should stop saying crap to the press and start spending some euros.

Then I misunderstud it. But this sounds fair enough. Milan's Curva has been the best in Europe, and it doesnt deserve and lies, like Galliani has been doing. But maybe we should open a thread about this, as thisis Cagliari - Milan thread.....

Does anyone have a source for this? Is the leader of the Curva Il Barone of Brigate Rossonere?

the letter was from the president of Milan Club Palazzo Marino, Paolo Bianco, who started an initiative for fans to write emails addressed to Silvio regarding taking the club back in his hands.
Also, Berlusconi himself is honorary presiden of Milan Club Palazzo Marino. The email of Milan Club Palazzo Marino can be found in the first link:

To get back on topîc : goal.com 's italian edition signalates that Kaka' might miss the match due to an injury he has on his right foot, he got a kick on it during the Brescia match and still feels pain... the injury nightmare continues.
