There is no place for comparisons between these two transfers as they are on totally dif levels.

Suazo was hardly seen by Inter as a starting striker so even with him going there, they would have still gone for Tevez, Etoo or whoever considering that Adriano seems to be on his way out.
Suazo would have given more depth to their strike force and would have given it characteristics they currently lack, so getting him away from under their noses must have hurt at least a little bit.

Now, if we could get one of Dinho or Etoo we'll close Inter's way to the other one from the Barca pair, and Tevez with all those clubs after him will not be an easy target at all ... maybe, in the end they would keep Adriano.
Given that Suazo isnt a big catch, I hardly see this as a "steal" or "getting him away from under their noses".

as I said, he would have complemented their attack nicely as they don't have a striker with his characteristics especially with recoba and Cruz on their way out and Adriano continuing with his antics and hanging on a thread there too.
It's not like they can get Tevez and Etoo and keep two of them on the bench while ibra and Crespo are playing ... they do need players like Suazo and he is avery capable one indeed.
He was a player Inter were counting on.

The "under his noses" thing comes from that this transfer was virtually a given and for many it was even a done deal, a move Inter have been prepping for some time now ... and all of a sudden, without any rumours whatsoever, he goes to Milan ... and that's at a time when Inter fans were already celebrating the Suazo move.
put that in Bocca - River terms and you will know what it would be like for something like that to happen.

If Inter didnt seal the move for Suazo is because they werent convinced or were having second thoughts about his signing, not because Milan managed to steal him. Thats my point of view.
Also, if say, Edmilson were to sign with Milan and Inter all of the sudden ended up with the player, I wouldnt be mad at all. It also applies here, I dont see Inter fans going nuts because of this.

Inter had some problems with the Suazo deal 'cause it included an Inter youngster going the other way to Cagliari (apart from cash money). This youngster was a forward, Acquafresca, and he did not want to go to Cagliari at first ... only yesterday was it reported that he had been convinced to change his mind and the Suazo deal had a green light to go ahead.

I see your point but again - Inter were going to go for an expensive striker - Adriano believed to be on his way - with or without Suazo going there. He was more or less seen as a quality forward who won't mind sitting on the bench and playing less regularly - a policy which would hardly work with big egos like Ibra, Crespo, Etoo, etc.

With the Suazo deal considered done, Recoba was free to be let go and most likely so was Cruz who wanted more playing time anyway and is soon gonna be 33 yo anyway.
So, basically, Inter's strike force was likely to be Ibra, Crespo, Suazo and someone like Etoo, Tevez, etc - an expensive player that is, provided that Adriano was sold, if not, then Adriano.

As for Inter fans not crying over him, I am sure most of them now are saying "He wasn't any good anyway" but until yesterday those same people were hailing Suazo as the best forward in serie A Inter could possibly get and how he was gonna crash defenses for them next year and what not.

whatever they were saying, that transfer was considered a done deal - he even passed a medical, I believe - and he was an Inter player in their minds (something Emerson isn't as he is mostly just one of several options Milan are considering at this point in time) ... and all of a sudden he goes not to just some other club but Milan, that's gotta bug them at least to an extent.

Of course that's assuming this Suazo rumour is indeed to true and not just a prank.

WOW....great news if you consider that he will bring the pace that CArlo s looking for a longer period...RO had the pace but didt know how to use it, thats why we were looking pace in the form of ETO....thats why I`m happy, they are respecting more Carlo now and they brought him what he wanted, maybe not eto, but definitely a player who can make use of his pace.... And we`ve felt it when played Cagliari in the past

And if Gila leaves theres place for Eto...however Dinho is most likely to join us...now

And one can not help it to feel good when you take inter the player that they were following for months now,and almost signed him...

yeah i agree its good news, even more so that we napped another player under Inters noses Suazo might not be as good as Eto, but he has Seria A experience, and there is no gurantee how Eto would adjust to life in Italy.

It's good news, especially to steal him from Inter. But I hope we will still get Eto'o or Ronaldinho.

If we bought him INSTEAD of Ronaldinho or Eto'o, then im not satisfid at all! If we bought him to replace Oliveira and Boriello, then im thrilled! So right now Im not sure how do I feel about this... Ronaldo, Pippo, Suazo, Gila, Kaka', Ronaldinho... I cant see that happening with a team that has Carlo, Billy and Tassotti on the bench.

Why can't you see that happening with Carlo, Billy and Tassotti on the bench?

Hahaha, my friend just called me and said without hello: " We screwed up Inter, again! "

Its fascinating how we are sometimes unable to pay 2 or 3 mil more for some great player and them we loose him like we are sooo cheap. Then , all of a sudden, we pay big money for players that come from Cagliari. Suazo is a very good player, dont get me wrong, but we payed for him 14 mil just like that. In those cases you can see how nice it is to have Berlusconi, lets hope his son is a same fanatic as he is !

About Suazo: I've seen him like milion times. He is a player that has a pretty bad last season actually, but with work in Milanello can play as good as hell. WAAY better player than Oli and , dont like to say this, but Gila also. He can play is really deep roles, almost as Kaka'. Can pass nicely and has a strong both feet shoot. We just got ourselves a great player with a LOT of serie a experience.

What now on mercato...??
1. SELL Oli
2. Loan Boriello....
3. Then decide on Gila's future concerning the Eto'o/Ronaldinho factor....
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe this is the way Galliani will go. Even with Ronaldo,Suazo,Gila,Pippo,Kaka', we are just fine. Now we DO NEED to reinforce midfield and LB.

Oh, and can we merge this thread into "summer mercato" so the discussion is all in one place??

L'attaccante honduregno David Suazo la prossima stagione vestirā la maglia del Milan. Il trasferimento dal Cagliari in rossonero si č concretizzato dopo una trattativa avvenuta nella notte.

It says that Suazo will were the Milan jersey next season, the transfer was finalised after one negotiation at night.
