Of course i want Canna at Milan, but i would prefer instead of him a younger DC like Barzagli,Albiol,Chivu,Mexes.

At the moment there's no such thing as "The best defender in the world".
There's no way to chose who's better between Terry, Nesta, Cannavaro and 2-3 others.

Cannavaro to Milan depends on 2 very important things :
1. Is Milan really after the veteran player or was it just another rumor ?
2. Will Real sell and is Milan ready to offer as much as Real wants for him ?

As for Chiellini, Manchester City made an offer of 10m euro, which, as reported, is the sum that Juve is asking for him. If Juve rejects this offer then it means that Chiellini was never for sale and it was just another story invented by the English newspapers. If Juve accepts the offer then i guess he won't play in Milan no matter what.

If Juve rejects the offer it might be because Liverpool or another club were/are already in negotiations before Man City arrived.

Good post Tony. I'll also take back what I said about his age being a factor, he's kept himself fit, and that's all that matters really, I think he would be a good, not great signing because I still think a young player would be better, no matter how fit he still is, but still a good signing, takes our defense a step up, still, we need a LB. Imagine what a squad we'd have next year... That would be excellent in more then one way too, we'd have the best of both worlds, we'd have best Brazilian attackers, and it just so happens Brazil has the best attack in world, and we'd have mostly, all Italian defense which also happens to be the best in world total domination

hey Jim i'm sorry i didn't mean it don't take it personale... u know what the whole " short memory " thing means ..it refers to all the ppl who said that Cannavaro didn't deserve to be awarded as the player of the year..ect
so he said " some ppl have short memory" ..they forgot the huge acheivements he made , with clubs he palyed for and the nationale team winning the WORLD CUP !!!!
anyway being in his early 30's it doeasn't mean his days is gone he still as good as he ever was, so he IS the best defender of the world.. nuuh not a ward .. ( just try to go along with me here ok)

I still think Canna would be expensive.. Newais. I just hope Milan rebuilds the squad from what we've lost last year, we still forget we lost Rui Costa aswell, even if he was a sub for most games when he was still a milan player, he was still a great player. We need to buy buy buy Currently, I think we need a LB,CB,RF,DM.

It's funny that a lot of the same people who were saying Milan is in bad shape because of old age and this will be a team that we'll be dismembered when this awful, awful season ends (ended up winning CL with "awful" team) are the same ones saying the same thing the second time around and that this "old man" Canna wouldn't be worth the effort of getting. If I'm not mistaken, he won the 2006 Fifa Player of the year award a year ago!! Last I checked, people don't go from great to old in a matter of a year!!! If he's half as good as Maldini is through his honorable 22 years as a rossonero, we can get another excellent 3-4 years out of Canna. Not only is this man guaranteed a job, he is exactly what would make this defense. Unlike Nesta and Maldini, he rarely gets hurt and would take on the same role as he did in the WC as this defense is all Italian. Also, we can finally bench the useless LB Jankulovski and put in Kaladze as Canna would be our LCB. Also, Maldini would come off the bench and giving that he can still put on a perfect 90 minutes, imagine how good he would be off the bench. He'd probably injure a lot less too.

I would love Cannavaro at Milan. He's not the 'best', but the unspectacular stint at RM is not something I would hold against him (Madrid has a knack for screwing up my fav footballers)...Canna has been class for Juve and who could forget his WC performance (that was only 12 months ago btw)? He can rediscover that form again and of course that nazionale partnership with Nesta. He is a leader and has much experience. We can't go wrong here.

But he's still a Juve faithful and I can see that. If he's going anywhere in Italy it's prolly Turin.

30+ players and Milan are like a match made in heaven. we all know that.

I don't understand why would Canna be a Juve faithful, CC
He was in Juve for only 2 years. Yeah, he enjoyed his time there and he never misses a chance to remind everybody of his two years in Juve, but he's a boy from Napoli, who grew up watching Maradona, who loves Napoli more than anything.
He also spent 7 great years in Parma (while he was in Parma he used to attack the refs for helping Juve) and 2 more years in Inter.

If he's a faithful , i'd say he should be a Napoli faithful, even a Parma faithful much more than a Juventino.
I don't doubt he'd like to play again together with Buffon, Del Piero, Camoranesi and Nedved, but he strikes me as a person who would prefer to accept the better money offer and since he won everything, apart from CL, in his career, and he played for all the big teams in Italy apart from Milan, i won't be surprised to see him in red&black.

In this case, regarding the Canna to Milan article, i think it's pure speculation and Milan isn't after Cannavaro, but if Milan's really interested, i'm sure Cannavaro will gladly accept the offer.

I think we've got enough experience at the back, Canna at best is a short term solution, which at this point, i dont think we need. We ought to invest in a "youngish", I dont know, mid 20's defender who can learn from the veterans and be ready to take over in 2 years...

Your right Tony, I can't beleive I forgot about his time at Parma. Maybe I was one more person who got caught up in Canna's wonderful declarations of Juve love, I don't know. He also strikes me as someone who switches clubs for silverware (and who doesn't these days?) and if CL is what he wants then sure, we are very likely to see him at Milan. Honestly I would just like to see him back in Serie A again. Well, back in calcio and NOT playing for Inter that is.

Lol we don't need Canna, if he comes cheaply which he probably won't we could fit him in beside nesta, but right now we're in desperate need of an lb and a midfielder to destroy inter and take ucl again

first of all let's start by saying no more over 30 players.
secondly he is juventino by heart and let him return to juve.
