Episode #2: Milan vs. Shakhtar (10-24-2007): Kaka` the savior?

To get back on topic, Carlo has said in his usual pre-match conference that Favalli will play from the start. I'd go with Gila up front since he's just been doing better than Pippo as of late. Also I'd start Bonera over Kaladze because I'm not sure Kala is 100% fit.

My starting lineup: Kalac; Oddo, Nesta, Bonera, Favalli; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambro; Seedorf; Kaka, Gilardino.

If Kaka isn't fit or if Seedorf is extra tired, I've give Gourcuff a go.

Sigh... either Gila or Inzaghi doesn't seem to be good enough alone.

Dida is the coolest football player i know. My favorite Milan player by far. I'm not talking about his goalkeepeng skills, i'm talking about him as a person. But such a mistake mustn't have been unpunished. And one match ban is to me equal to no ban at all. Today you get a red card and 2 match ban for saying to the ref "Go to hell". This was far more dangerous than yelling at the ref.

But it's done now. I only hope this will never happen again, and if it happens then i hope that the next one who'll do something similar Dida has done that night will get a long 5 match ban and a 100 000 eur fine.

i think the formation most likely will be this :

but i hope that Kaka plays more next to gila not behind him
and not to see Brocchi giving balls to Shakhtar(SP?) players :|

if thats the formation that Ancelotti is going to play with i think it will end 3-1 or something

I'm surprised to see no mention of Serginho. I'm particularly glad to see him back, as he's a good attacking option to have on the bench. Although he's just returned and certainly not match fit, he has qualities that we often need, such as pace, ability to run at defenders and is a good crosser of the ball.

Slowly, but surely, as players like him, Maldini (I'm aware he's not available today) and Ronaldo, I feel more at ease.

is serginho even in the squad to go? at the moment i cant really see him contributing much more than Ba this season. With him not playing a competitive match in two seasons, i dont even want to imagine his match fitness.

shakhtar will at least get a draw from us. Lucescu knows how to hurt us and has the players to do it. our squad is an utter joke. apart from the first 14 players there is absolutely nothing.

All the negative expectations from this game are understandable considering the situation we are in. But I do think even if we don't win tomorrow we won't be playing bad. After all its europe. Teams are not that familiar with our style and pace of the game like our italian counterparts. Sure they do their prematch studies and all but implementing it against the reigning champs at their own backyard will be tough. Also I don't see mistakes like those of Dida's against Celtic (goalkeeping ones) getting repeated and those were the primary cause of our defeat.

So a bit more positive stance from me. Coming to the starting 11, surely hoping Kaka can shake of his injury to get a start. Won't risk him under any circumstances. Gourcuff should be given a start. If we do go with a single striker it should be Pippo in my opinion. After all he has the experience if not the form for these sort of games. And form can hit anytime.

Cheer up guys. Hope for the best as tht's all we have now.

For tonight's match it may again be the main problem because Shakhtar has great pace on the wings with Srna and Fernandinho and they have quality target man that is Lucarelli.

Check this website before the match. They do update it to compensate last minute changed schedules.
