That's wrong imo. These are career threatening tackles (no matter if it wasn't on purpose) and if the punishment is 1 match ban only, then we can expect Materazzi or guys like him to regularly go after Kaka's legs from now on.
I disagree. If a man acts like a man and asks if the player he made a horrendous tackle on is OK, and says I'm sorry I didn't mean to afterwards it proves that it was a tackle he did not do to injure the player.

I've played football in a club. And I was sometimes horrendously fouled. When the player who made the tackle to me came to me and asked me if I was all right I felt my body and gave him the honest answer. Then I said that it was OK, that I could feel when the hard tackle was made on me that it wasn't out of ill intentions.

Normally the conversation stopped there. Sometimes I asked further why the opponent thought he had made the tackle so brutally. I was surprised to know that many times they had simply had a bad day.

I only had a problem with it when a salty thing happened to me if the player afterwards denied that he had done it on purpose.

For me it is more serious if the player did it on purpose. Once an opponent when the ref was looking the other way twisted my finger on purpose. I feared that it was broken. I went to the referee and asked him to stop the match.

The referee refused to believe me. And the game went on and after the game I talked to my team mates and it turned out that many of them had received the same treatment.

A couple of weeks afterwards I managed to forgive them.

I have a pure relationship with football. And to see a player, and one of our players do such a thing makes me happy.

If God gave Bonera a 1 match ban it is fine with me. That means this is what he deserves.

And if the leg was broken and he apologized anyway, would you think the one-match ban would have been enough too ??

Bonera was examplar until this tackle, he has been too after this tackle ... but he did this tackle, it's not God who went to do this attempt ?!

He could have been banned 2 or 3 matches, I wouldn't have thought it would have been a mistake to do so ... anyway, good news, Bonera will be back, like Oddo, soon.

Bad news: Maldini seems to be out.

So probably ???(Cafu)-Nesta-Simic-Favalli ...

God did plan this tackle and God also planned Sissoko not to break his leg.

Just because he didn't have a broken leg it doesn't mean that the tackle wasn't bad.

I may be wrong, but the standard routine for a direct red card is minimum two matches, while accumulating 4 yellows or a "two yellow" red card means 1 match ban.
Actually, i'm probably wrong since Bonera would have been suspended for more than 1 match if that was the case.

Bonera deserved a lenghty ban, but his behaviour on and off the pitch after that tackle had a big influence.

I'm trying to be fair here. In case someone wants to defend Bonera's ban as fair, just imagine Matrix fouling Kaka the way Bonera did to Sissoko. How many of you would have accepted 1 match ban for him ?
I think you might be right, it seems to be 2 matches rather than 1 (as the official site said). Anyway, my point isn't that I defend the verdict (I was prepared for much worse), but simply that going by the rules, Bonera's got the standard punishment.

there is also the fact that ref made three consecutive mistakes against us before that tackle and all the tackles that he ignored were yellow cards then things got out of hand and Bonera and Sisoko were the scapegoats

It's definitely true about that; I have already made that point clearly in the Juve vs. Milan thread. In general, the mistakes are just way horrible and eventually punished Milan greatly.

Like Kalac said, it's a very bitter lost esp we never deserve losing it.

So is pato back?

If Pato and Pippo are fit we should start with both up front with Kaka behind. No need for Christmas tree formation against Reggina at home. My starting lineup would be as follows:

Kalac; Cafu, Nesta, Kaladze, Favalli/Serginho; Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf; Kaka; Pato, Pippo

Gourcuff should come on at around the 60th minute for whosoever is playing worse between Pirlo and Seedorf. Paloschi should get some minutes as well. Necessary three points tomorrow at San Siro as Fiorentina is winning at the moment.
