R99 (history)

Gattuso (not Milan's fault)

Senderos (@@!)

Nesta (!!!!!)

Pirlo (...)

Lightbulb Carlo Must Change OR Must GO!

Carlo has lost it completely , I mean its almost impossible for me to believe that He is the same man who managed ACM from 2002-2007, although for his lack of winning mentality in Serie-A was there and there about all this time. He is scared to death of playing 2 up front in a proper manner & when ACM goes down he suddenly changes changes to an emergency formation of 4 forwards & this tactic is making me sick. I don't understand what has happened to the brave Carlo we knew who used to play with an attacking formation or 4-4<>-2 with to attacking wing backs & slaughter teams for fun. San Siro was a place where even a draw for ACM was unthinkable 2-3 years ago & now newly promoted teams are humiliating us time and time again & its due to coward formation of Carlo i.e. 4-3-2-1 with Seedorf & that Ukrainian in attack

Also one thing that is hitting me hard is how on earth Carlo can start with that Ukrainian & put Pato on the bench & use him as a super sub? He has got some REAL BIG problem with young players, Gila, Martin Laursen, Gorky, Johan Vogel......... He destroyed Gila's confidence by putting him a 4-3-2-1 formation & now his next victim will be Pato. I still believe Gila + Pato could have become the best attacking pair is Serie-A & even in the world if it wasn't for the sick tactics of Carlo i.e 1 upfront

I think ACM should sack Carlo and make me their new manager/coach , because I will a at least play with 2 proper strikers upfront & will stop doing tests of AS Roma formation (4-2-3-1) in AC Milan. ACM should have go Jose Mourinho in first place but................

No more stupid stuff Carlo please! Stop playing these finished players like Favalli & 76. Play the right players in the genuine formation of 4-4-2 with diamond midfield & its as simple as that

----------------------------Abbiatti--------------------------

---Zomby/Bonera--Nesta/Kaladze--Maldini---Janku/Zomby-----

--------------------------Pirlo/Seedorf-----------------------

---------------Flamini---------------------Ronaldinho---------

-----------------------------Kaka-----------------------------

----------------------Borrie----------Pato--------------------

If Seedorf is not happy playing deep, send him to Ajax as soon as possible & bring back Gorky & try to get some one like Arshavin or Akinfeev in January & thats it. AC Milan will start winning againg

Can everyone please stop with bashing Carlo. He is probably the greatest coach of all time, he is probably doing this to make the rest of the season exciting.

Guys whats the fun in having the lead all the way tilll the end of the season, if we do this we will make our comeback around Jan. I think he will probably start Favali, dida, Seedorf, and Ceaser Maldini to confuse the opponenets and the home side.

Carlo you cant do anything wrong in my book keep up the great job.. and use words like DESIRE, FUTURE, MOVE ON , ETC after every loss..

like Jeff, Drucul and many others already said... someone has to be bashed..

Gila was bashed for not scoring and blaming him for losing
then it was Dida
now it is Carlo..

later it might be Pirlo

Carlo has been bashed many times already. It's been almost two years (maybe three?) since Billy Costacurta said that Carletto's ideas were getting stale, and that Milan needed new impulses. I thought he had a good point back then, and I think this point is even more valid now.

I think that blaming one person for Milan's lack of success is wrong. Carlo has to take his part of the blame, but so does Galliani, not to mention the players themselves. Maybe Milan Lab also could have done a better job, considering that we seem to have the most injury prone and unfit squad in the Serie A.

Still I think it is time for Carlo to go, simply because we need to get something out of this season, and it seems as though he is losing the faith of both the club and the players. And it is, in fact, his responsibility to make the players perform. We have a very professional squad, but that doesn't help if the coach isn't able to make the players work together as a unit.

I realize that we have a lot of new players this season, but if you look at the side that faced Genoa, nine out of the fourteen players who were on the pitch, were in our squad last season too. And if you add Borriello, Abbiati and Shevchenko, who all have experience in playing for Milan under Ancelotti, to that list, the really new additions to the squad are Zambrotta, Ronaldinho and Flamini.

I don't think three new players in the team should cause us that many problems when it comes to organization and making the team gel. A fair portion of the failure to achieve this must be blamed on Ancelotti.

If we lose against Lazio on Sunday, I think he will either resign or get the sack.

i can understand the 2nd goal was Maldini's fault

but how come its his fault in the 1st? if the player who chested the player was properly marked that would have been a good clearance or even a Goal Kick

but yes, as i mentioned before, someone has to be blamed

mrki: I hope you won't think dichotomously. I'm not saying that Maldini is NOT guilty for both goals. We all know that he is, and we all know that he is aging, fast.

But what options do you have at the moment? It's so easy to say "play Kaladze!" but that's like after the financial market crash you said, "You should have bought the winning stock".

Duh...

If there is someone not objective enough, it's you. Kaladze and Maldini are equally terrible, and you are basically judging only the game is over, as usual.

You don't have to defend your point, because your point is well taken. IN FACT, your point is SO WELL TAKEN that most of us have already KNOWN it. It's YOU who think that we don't see it.
But you have totally miss the point here, and i have already pointed out somewhere else in the thread, that pointing out a single individual for his fault at this moment will do NO GOOD at the team, nor is the optimal solution, though it can inevitably soothe your anger and frustration.

I'm not saying that what we say in terms of content is wrong; I"m just saying that what we have been focusing on here is wrong.

Do you have a solution? No you don't. None of your posts do. Sack Ancelotti, replace Maldini... then what? who? How? Why? What? When? Answers?

*** And btw that sentence is not even aimed at you; there were a couple of us who suggested that Maldini should not play. He should quit ... bla bla bla... as if the rest of the Milan community doesn't know that. The truth is the MAJORITY of the people know that, the MAJORITY of the people know that Milan is not doing well; the MAJORITY of the people know that the transfer is not as successful as we thought...

The key is to look forward, not backward and say, "oh here is the problem let's fix it". Milan, as like any other clubs, is not a machine.

I feel the time for ancelotti to leave is coming close. What we seen now is a continuing of our problems from the last two seasons. He is very stubborn in his selections and put out defensive formations against small teams that can't score, but somehow can concede. Overall he have had loads of excuses when it comes to the squad and injuries... But despite that we still have a squad better than all the competition bar Inter. A squad with players having the same wage as team we lost against.

Thing is that our problems is the same:

- Players look unmotivated and don't run.

- Our attacking tactics seems to be pass the ball to one of two playmakers.

- Same players is always used.

- There is a overreliance on experienced players, both in the squad and Carlo's starting choices.

- we are incredible predictable. start same players, attack in same ways, use same players.

- Pirlo is not effective in the way we play. Don't have time for a long explanation, but playing two strikers would help a lot to begin with. As would some players running down the sides. He isn't here to pass the ball 5 meters to Ronaldinho or Ambro, that is a waste of his talents.

- Effort is something we only show in a UCL final or when we are a goal down. Watching us play you could expect we often play for a draw as the players play on a leisure pace. Suddenly we let in a goal and they partly wake up.

What is most damning about keeping Carlo is that he don't seem able to motivate the players. Could be because of the problems mentioned above. Could be because he is more of a friend with the players. Could be because he have been here to long.

If we don't win in the UEFA cup and if we lose against Lazio then we have hit a rock bottom and then it would be some way up. some say a humiliation against Inter would do it... Well, losing against Lazio would be humilliating to us, just check when we last lost against them. We didn't even do that when we last sucked and they topped the table.

Let me add that Carlo is awful with young players.

Still, I love the guy and the good football he gave us. I say this because this is what I believe and I don't look forward to Intertoto, I am pretty sure a couple of players also ain't. (Of course they should work their sorry asses harder.)

ACE - you ask how is it Maldini's fault on first goal? Answer me this: have you EVER played a single game of football on a real football field? The man that scored was Maldini's player, and he got away from him. It is not the fault of the player that was handling the Genova man who passed the ball in the space, it was MAldini's fault as his man got away and got free for goin 1 on1 with GK. Classic CB's fault by all football means and explanations of football defensive marking. Im sure if you ask 100 coaches who's fault is is that 100 would answer - Maldni's. Or just go and show the replay to people and ask them, you'll see.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jeff - Your post about me is completely wrong, I have to say it.
I was not saying Maldini is a reason why Milan is struggling, but if a player cant play, isnt fit, he cannot be allowed to play.

You say I dont offer a solution and that I criticize Milan ALWAYS AFTER the games - that is not true- In fact - IT IS A LIE ABOUT ME! For few seasons I have been saying that Carlo cant lead Milan in serie a, even when we played great in CL I was saying that. Solution is, for start, to change a coach. That is a primar step in every team, EVERY TEAM, for changing the way a team plays. After a while team becomes what their coach is ( take a lok at england. Same players, different team. One led by CLOWN McLaren, the other by King Cappelo! ).

After 5-6 years its normal to change coach. And dont fool yourself by believing what Galliani is saying about Milan's Ferguson and Wenger - Carlo is not that good. Even Costacurta, WHILE STILL PLAYING UNDER CARLO, said that Milan needs a new coach, but noone listeded to him.

after you change coach, things change. Work ethic change ( whichj Milan lacks in past 3 serie seasons. Its one thing to prepare yourself for 10 CL games, and other to train for 38 rounds of serie a).

today Carlo will play Antonini - Favalli played against Genova. today we will play 4-3-1-2, we again ( which I mention almost every single time BEFORE the game, that it WILL NOT WORK in serie a, and it doesnt work in 85% of cases) played 4-5-1 against Genova. WHY? Coz Silvio wanted to see Sheva-KAka'-Dinho? Maldini played coz he wanted to aldough not fit? Favalli played - why? Seedorf played CM his whole life and now all of the sudden he doesnt want to - why? COZ HE DOESNT RUN HARD ENOUGH and cant run...

Sorry Jeff, but your post about me criticising Milan like a coward only after the games and blaming individual players for lousy tactics, motivation, lack of plan, lack of fitness...not true. Milan is in my heart, but this Milan doesnt work properly and fully professionally. Results are obvious and you people can go on talking what ever you want. Milan is not fit, nor organized, not motivated... change a coach.

And please, please, dont use that cheep psichology for young school kids or lousy teachers " curing my frustrations about Milan with no proof on MM forums...just blabiong around like mad man..." That is for kids and grandmothers. We are here to talk about football seriously. That is offensive.

what in particular have you been thinking about? all in all we did fantastic in serie A up until Sheva left. but for the last two season I agree with you, with the exception that I always believe one season to be something that can be bumped back from. But at this moment many signs point towards us walking into our third season of sucking in serie A and now also our european form have vanished.

actually mrki, if you ask football experts(Coaches, ex-Footballers, etc) they would say that it was a series of defensive mistakes, so Maldini cant be really blamed 100% on that goal.

Where was Bonera? Where was Zambrotta? Where was Favalli? Where were the DM's?

anyway, a 40-years old cover 3 players at once, and considering the options available, Maldini is a good player(defender)

I'm sorry if I have offended you; I apologize.

I don't have much time to respond, so this will be just quick reaction.

1) I'm not accusing that you are not a real Milan fan or implying anything like that.

2) "Maldini can't play, aren't fit, so cannot be allowed to play" argument doesn't address my point exactly.

3) I'm not talking about Carlo, I'm talking about Maldini.

4) I'm not not going to spend time on why Capello has more success than previous England coach, nor comparing previous coach of England to Carlo is fair.

5) I do agree that change of coach is what we need. BUt instead of saying why changing coach is necessary, you simply say that 'change is needed'. Then whatever.

In that sense, Kris's post before you about why Carlo should go makes a lot more sense and is a lot more convincing.

6) I have no response to why you think some players are picked over others. But thinking that Maldini gets to play because he wants to play makes no sense to anyone. I wonder how you actually KNOW that that's the major reason.

After days of debate, I'm more inclined toward sacking the coach now, as some of you put up valid reasons, and also some great points.

7) "Milan is not fit, nor organized, not motivated... change a coach." --- This is indeed the most serious football talk I have seen.

8) IN fact, if you watn to get serious with me, I think the first person to sack is Galliani. The transfer is a complete mess, especially Shevchenko's one. He didn't bring in any WC defenders, nor a WC GK who can defend well. KInstead, he brought in Emerson, Favalli, Brocchi, .... all the non-sense players. Yes, some good purchases like Zambrotta and Flamini are made, but they are either free or are old.

Milan is not fit, nor organized, not motivated... change Galliani.

And I'm serious.
