I think that's a good post about Gourcuff mrki. I certainly agree that Gourcuff's strength for the side would be his movement off the ball. He is very intelligent when he runs.

Seedorf is incredibly strong on the ball, few can get it off him when in possession. However, I definitely think Gourcuff is capable of this and he doesn't lose the ball easily either.

Likewise we're comparing ability of the two players. Personally, I think Seedorf is one of the most technically brilliant players in the world, as we've seen him do some incredible things with the ball. However, Gourcuff is technically brilliant too. Some of the things he's done this season are outstanding, and therefore I don't think it's necessary to compare technical ability between the two, because Gourcuff's ability has never been in question.

Pace isn't the greatest issue either for me. Seedorf's pace is highly underestimated by many people, he isn't slow. However, he is slow when he's playing on the ball and this is often why he appears slow. Gourcuff's almost the opposite, in that his running speed is quite slow, but he is quick on the ball with what he wants to do. However, what we need to get the best of Kaka and Pato is to have someone who will not only be available off the ball for them, but also someone who can move the ball up the field quickly so that they get the chance to run at opponents before they're organised. Both Seedorf and Gourcuff at times have the tendency to hold the ball a little too much, so whoever we play (or even if we play both) must adjust their game in this respect to get the best of their teammates.

Finally, tactically both Seedorf and Gourcuff seem ok. Gourcuff has shown tactical maturity in a Milan shirt on occasions (he needs to do it more consistently), while Seedorf is very mature in his tactical game. However, Gourcuff has time to develop his tactical sense while it would be expected of Seedorf.

For me, Gourcuff has a lot to offer the side. If he can learn to distribute the ball quickly and be tactically disciplined (though not to the point that it affects his creativity), then we will see one of the best additions to the side we can hope for. He and Seedorf are similar in many respects and so I feel Gourcuff can interpret many of the roles Seedorf has in his career.

Yes, Seedorf's pace is underestimated, but its becouse he decides to sprint two times is a game. Its becouse he is not at top fitness levels anymore. Seedorf needs to be fresh.

When we won CL last time, for big games like Bayern away, both United games...Milan rested Seedorf 2-3 games before it, and gave him speciall training regime so he could be fresh. Later on Seedorf played brilliantly in those games. So its about his fitness, he is a player that is worn out in certain way.

Yoan can control the tempo and passing rate in midfield, its enough. Boban wasnt fast, Pirlo is not fast, Prosinecki played for Barcelona and Madrid and was one of the best creators in the game and he could barely run...

Yoan has a first step that can beat the player, and then he has the space for the mvoe: pass, shot, cross. Its important enough.

If gorky's ball possession skill evolves eventually equal to seedorf's,he is not the junior zidane any more,he is zidane himself,. I'm so eager to see that happens.

I just want to state clearly that I am not a Seedorf supporter. He is lazy, petulant, and as many have mentioned, listless.

Gorky, Gorky, Gorky, if I am not mistaken he is not our player any more because of that 15 m clause in his contract so it the player who has the last word whether or not return back to Italy, and to be honest if I were him I would never think of playing for Milan any more, so please lets look for some one else.

Unless we sell or lose someone, I don't see the need in buying anyone. We already replaced Maldini with Thiago. We have a huge squad as it is, 30 players. We don't need additions, we need replacements. So the first question is this; Who do we kick out?

Sheva.
Emerson.
Dida.

Ambrosini?

I would kick Ambro anytime, but he's our vice-capitan. He'll be here for life.

For the rest, I agree.

If Beckham stays, which I hope he does, I think that final pure defensive midfield spot would be a battle between Flamini and Gattuso. It won't even be on the left side anymore, it would be central, with Beckham on the right and Pirlo drifting left. That way, the cross field passes would come from far left and far right to the full backs sneaking in the other side.

What is the perfect number for a side that's competing in the CL? 28? Did Carlo ever mention a squad number that he likes?

You guys would kick out Ambrosini? Wow. He is immense in almost every game for us, bossing the midfield and distributing better than Matthieu "I was born to tackle shins" Flamin or even Gattuso on his best day.

Seedorf, Dida, Favalli (despite being useful he is a sprightly 37 or so), Shevchenko and Emerson (please, I will book his ticket) should all go.

100% agree but i dont know about sheva him as a 3rd string striker is still ok in my book ( i might have a soft spot for our past sheva)

But if we clean up the team with the players listed above and move up some of the youth players i really believe we can have one of the most exciting teams around, with Frank Rijkard on the bench..

OCmilano 3rd string striker who is waged 6.5 mil per year is not ok at all. i mean we can heavily invest with the amount he is earning. he will cost us 26 mil tax included for two years so what the hell we are keeping him for.
