Good result considering the circumstances. Now we need to avoid defeat in Belgrade to go through.

As far as the game. Where is Sheva men? Unfortunately Sheva's gap was much bigger than i was expected. Our midfield was excellent (the game was live on Greek TV) we created too many chances but we couldnt score because Gila again show that he is unfortunate in European games to scores and because of the great Serbian goalkeeper. The second game is Serbia will be a tough, very difficult game because i know that Serbians have very strong atmosfere.

The conclusion, we need a strikes as far as i am concerned two strikers if we will qualify for the group stage. In the Belgrade we need to score once because i believe Red star will score definatelly. They have three-four young players who didnt play well today but they look very talented.

Probably depends when we sign him, as the second leg is 13 days away. I guess the latest is perhaps a week/few days before?

EDIT: Yeah, we gave a list of players eligible to play, didn't we?

No no one can play in the second game, only the players in the lsit we submitted in UEFA, any new player will have the right to play only if we will qualify in the group stage.

In the second game we will be much more fit but the crowd will be too strong.

You Misha_Srbija Red Star Belgrade: Randelovic; Pantic, Bisevac, Gaj, Perovic (Tutoric 66); Basta, Kovacevic, Milovanovic (Dokic 81), Blagoy; Jankovic (Krivokapic 89); Zigic

I heard very good things about Bisevac who is good gets angry easily, for Perovic, Basta, Milovanovic, Jankovic and Dokic, can you say a few things about them?

Zigic i saw him in the world cup, also tonight but i wasnt impressed.
Best regards to our friendly neighbours in Serbia.

Hello my orthodox brother...

Bisevac- he played good. He was a member of our U21 national team two years ago when whe lost against italy in the european championship final. Since then he's been playing much better. He's going to be the true leader of this team in a few years...if he stays at the club...
Perovic- not good tonight. He plays on the position of a left midfielder, but since coach Bajevic came he's been playing as left defender. It's obvious that he can't play on this position.
Basta- solid tonight. Very talented, but unfortunatelly he only played last 20 min on his position (as right defender). Currently, he is out of form. he can do much better.
Milovanovic- has a good shot but has no experience. He started playing for the first team last season, and he did it very vell. Tonight... very bad.
Jankovic- He really tryed as much as he could tonight. Great talent. Last year Porto was interested in buying him. Like Milovanovic, has a great shot. I expect a lot of him in the future.
Djokic- acted very stupid in our last chance of the match. He was the second top-scoreer of our league. He played well last season. Tonight he haven't got a real chance to prove himself.

For all our lack of preparation, and a makeshift defense, Milan looked very very good today, and apart from Billy´s early error, we controlled the game and limited their chances.

The fact that their crowd will force them to committ more to the attack, will serve us well, as this will provide us with the space they rarely afforded us in this leg.

I am quietly confident that we will win the return leg, opening up Berlu´s cheque book, for more signings.

Impressed by Simic, Gourcuff, Kaka, and Pippo.

Gila could have scored, as could have Clarence...but it was his (the Dutchman´s)spectacular flick that gave Kaka (?) the ball for him to slot through to Pippo for the goal..so even though our new #10 underperformed for most of the match, he proved how valuable he was in the build up to that goal.

Gila again to me, is pressuring himself too much to score, and the 2nd to last chance he missed, at almost point blank range, he would have been better setting up an unmarked Pippo on his left.

Didnt realise Gourcuff was so strong and tall!! Nice touches, but needs more confidence, especially in front of goal. Not a bad "official debut".

Anyway, not disappointed at all on the overall performance, but slighlty worried about a 1-0 lead going into Belgrade...but if this is all Red Star has to offer, we should win easily in Serbia.

I am sure CZ will play betetr too but just don't think they are at a level of CL football.
First, we need to reinforce this team even if we fail to make it to the group stage. So its not like we cant get players now, for example we can buy Ibra and Gallas in spite of what happens against Red Star next game.
Second, because its not a slam dunk we will make it after winning only 1-0. I saw a terrible team playing against us, very limited, and I dont believe its because of Milan. But when you play in a hostile pitch you never know and its only one soccer match that can go either way.
And we wouldnt have to wait too long to know our fate. Tonight showed again we need a couple good strikers.
Whats the difference between playing UCL and playing only Serie A, transfers wise? Thats important to answer, but as I said, I would move foward with negotiations as if we would play only Serie A football and then if we make it to UCL, splash our money to reinforce every line.

Maldini and Nesta couldn't play , so sad , I missed them so much , but it doesn't matter because we had Costacurta and Simic ( Have they ever played beside each other?)
Our midfielders had a very nice game ( a big thanks to Kaka' and Gila , you two are my loveliest angels)
And it was a nice beginning for Gourcuff , too , he proved us that he's good enough to be a Rossoneri
I love you Milan and I hope you will win on August 23rd , I love you !
Good Luck
