It's obvious that Sneijder or Robben would've been better than Huntelaar. Sneijder would've prefered Milan over Inter, I have no doubt about that. Remember that he was reluctant to move to Inter in the beginning. I also remember an interview after he had signed for Inter where he had been 'waiting to see his options, but that was in the past now' or somethign like that.

But don't forget the situation last summer. EVERYBODY was pressuring for a great CF, Berlusconi was and most of all the fans were. Since Sheva left everybody has been obsessed with getting a 20+ goals per season striker, which has ment that we have neglected other parts of the team, and this last summer is the perfect example of it. The tragedy of it all is that we already have our 20+ goals per season striker in Pato, who basicly just needs to stay fit in order to do so. Borri has 14 goals, which really isn't that bad either.

It's the same old story this year. We may buy Dzeko, but it still doesn't solve our biggest problems. And worst of all we risk adding another name to the list of strikers who have tried to step in Sheva's shoes and failed.

Benzema was called by police 2 days ago, he will also be a witness, to start ... it seems he had a sexual relationship with this same girl when she was 16yo.

Govou, despite saying he is innocent, was called too as a witness, and the fact is he had a sexual relationship too (damn, all the French NT knows her ?! ) but she was 18+yo so he shouldn't have too many problems.

There is also another player but his name, as far as I know (I don't know if there are news since yesterday as I just came back to home and actually, I don't care about these players), isn't known yet.

About Sneijder, the fact is that if our management bought him, we would have bashed them even more than the way it was done because we would have sold our best player to take someone who almost didn't play for a year and playing in the same position or almost.

Tuttomercato says Milan will ask for Ivanovic for the right side and are still in for Bale. But United prepared a 20mln offer. Ivanovic lost his first team place to Ferreira ( wth???)...

For me its impossible to believe Milan is able to buy Bale and Ivanovic, but if that happens we can say we have absolute class defence once again.

Of course, when Leo asked for Bale and Bale was still unknown, Galliani didnt go for the player.

Guys, I think we need as many free players as we can get our hands on. Why?

We're going to be losing a lot of players, some from loan, others because they have not been able to perform to the levels we have asked for. We are getting rid of: Kaladze, Favalli, Dida, Beckham, Mancini, and it looks like Inzaghi, Janku, and maybe Oddo will also be on their way out. Of those players, Favalli, Oddo, Janku, Dida, and Beckham have all played major minutes for us. Some have been better than others, but they have made contributions to the team.

It is pretty clear that Milan, even with our old players, can go toe-to-toe with any team, as long as we are fit. Therefore, our team's overall strength will be determined by its ability to play well when major players are out.

That being said, we still need top players to come into this team. We have run many of our players into the ground, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, and others have provided amazing service for this team. If we are to bring through a new generation of younger players, we will need their experience. That much is very clear, and that is how the family of Milan works, and it is the reason that we have more trophies than anyone else.

Another reason is investment. I think if we are to make investments, in top players, while getting rid of other players that we have inherited, we need to get as much free quality players as possible. That way, the limited funds we have can go a lot farther. If the difference between Milan and Cissoko was 3 million, then I would rather sign Yepes for free than another backup for 5 million.

If we think that Yepes, Cacau, and other free players associated with the team are going to start, I think you'd be mistaken. Milan's exit from the Champions League was not because we were inferior to Manchester United, but because we did not have the substitutes to ensure we were able to play to the best of our abilities. That is the difference between this team and the teams of 2002-07. You are defined not by your stars shining, but by your weakest links performing to their greatest abilities, when nothing less than that can suffice.

Berlu spent quite a bit of money when he took office, in May, before the financial crisis. In the summer of 2008, we spent money on Ronaldinho, Zambrotta, Boriello, and Abate. We brought back Abbiati and Antonini, while bringing, on loan, Senderos and Beckham, and signing, for free, Flamini. Ronaldinho 21 million, Zambro 8.5, Boriello 10, were 39.5 together. Pato was brought in for 22 million the previous winter, and the following winter Thiago Silva was brought in for 10 million. What is the difference between then and now?

Berlusconi can't spend money. The investigation in Finivest, his role as PM, and so on and so forth. I hate the man, but, let us stop saying that he's going to sell the club, wants it destroyed, because he stopped spending real money, when the financial crisis started, not because he suddenly lost interest in spending it. Whether it was spent wisely or not, is a different story. Whether Galliani is to blame, again, is something we can only speculate. Galliani was the one who spotted Cissoko, Berlu did not let it go through. Galliani brought Mancini, because Leonardo wanted it. Galliani has to help the coach, while also following the guidelines set by his (many times crazy) boss.

So, rather than hoping that Berlusconi dies and/or sells Milan, I hope that he gets voted out of office. Because it is clear that, with the economic problems facing Italy, Berlusconi cannot spend money at Milan, as long as he is Prime Minister. So if you're Italian, vote for someone else.

That being said, knowing that we have to get rid of old players, and sign new ones to replace them (as backups), then we should welcome Yepes, Cacau, and whoever else. Because they won't be starting, and it seems that the only time Milan sells a key player, he becomes garbage afterwards. If Galliani is the reason why Sheva and Kaka left Milan, shouldn't we be applauding him for getting that much money for two players who went on to be useless for the clubs we took money from?

I love Milan and this has nothing to do with being "optimistic" but being pragmatic. We don't have lots of money, we need to use it wisely, we need to bolster the squad, therefore, free players, on small wages, is the best way to go.

The wages of the players that seem likely to leave are:

Dida 4M
Kaladze 3M
Inzaghi 3M
Oddo 2.3M
Janku 2M
Favalli 1.2M

That adds up to 15.5 million in wages, without tax. Pato gets 1 million, Thiago 2.5, Abate 0.7, Antonini 0.6. Those four players have been far more useful then the ones above. It is straight math here, and also, its wasted resources, when they are not performing to what we are paying them. If Oddo played like a 2.3 million a year player, or Kaladze as a 3 million a year defender, than I'd shut up. But, they are not.

So, without transfer fees, if we can keep players in that new reformed wage bracket that we are paying our most useful players, then I don't see how you can call this mismanagement, when this is just a bad situation that has to be changed. Yes, we need signings, and we can get them. We brought in Gorky for 3.5 million or something like that, and I'm confident that we can do it again.

This was a tough transition, and I'd love to have 50 million to spend, but, absent that sum of money being available to us, free players and youngsters coming into the first team seems to be the best possible option in a bad situation.

Plus, the fact that we are functioning on a zero debt structure is not a bad thing. I mean, that is exactly what Bayern Munich do, and its amazing how Milan is still more valuable than Inter and Juve, despite the amount of money they spend. Plus, when it comes to free players, I don't see any team being able to take one away from us. Pandev? Clearly that was out of respect for Lazio, because that wasn't just a free player, that was one that became free because of the courts. That's the difference between Inter and Milan, we have ethics, and while it may seem that they are benefiting from their practices, I think when they are in Serie B next year, we'll see who laughs last.

Balotelli anyone?

What a terrible job by a journalist, my friend... Wow!

Ivanovic didn't loose his job to Ferreira, he was injured. He came back on the bench against Spurs because of physical conditions. Btw, Ferreira was so abused by Bale, that Ivanovic come back to start the second half. If someone lose a job, it was Bosingwa(sp?) to Ivanovic.

News about Leonardo(from Brazil):
Never heard this rumor of Leo to be the next Brazil NT coach. At least here in Brazil... But today(5 minutes ago), a reliable press source said he will be offered the GM job by Flamengo's president. Now, thats the first real offer he received here... and more will come.

So, Balotelli's agent, Raiola, said something pretty interesting about Pandev and Balotelli.

He said, “I find it interesting that we’re talking about bullying, because Goran Pandev arrived at Inter due to legal action he took against Lazio over bullying.

“So if you want to add one and one to make two, you can do that with Balotelli...”

Now, he did say “I never said Balotelli was the victim of bullying, nor did I talk about taking legal action,” before that, but, it seems his other comments point to another direction for him.

If that happens, I wonder if Galliani will act like he did with Lazio for Pandev, or, because it is Inter, and because Balotelli is a far better player than Pandev, get him to come to Milan?

I think Balotelli is dealt with rather poorly, and the fact that he gets jeered by his own fans, I don't think that's exactly a very good environment for a youngster. I mean, if he is really that disruptive of a force, we can always sell him? I don't think we can turn down Balotelli if some of us are open to Milan going for Cassano.

I would love to have Balotelli for free. Imagine a front three of Dinho--Pato--Balotelli

I think the guy wouldn't be whistled, at least at start, because he would immediately say that his dream came true (joining Milan) and as a consequence, most of the fans would give him a chance ...

Then he would probably act better because I think it must be terrible for a young player to live his dream and wasting it ... so if he doesn't change (of course, IF he was to join us), he would be very quickly whistled in Milan.

Of course, Balo+Pato (why Ronaldinho ?) would be quite amazing, especially if the two guys manage to play together and that would give us many more options in attack as Balotelli can play as "LW", "RW" (it's what happens in Inter) and his natural position is ST, like Pato.

We always talk about outfield players whilst ignoring the GK position. Joe Hart or Sergio Asenjo seem to me like good buys. They are young, have amazing reflexes, (especially Hart), will be cheap (again especially Hart) and most importantly will offer more security at the back than Dida, and more consistency than Abiatti. Even a loan deal for Hart wouldn't be so bad.

For Abiatti, his performances are quite consistant, his problem is his injuries and again, he wasn't injury-prone before coming back to Milan !! One more player injuring without any reason ...

We're linked everyday with the GK coming from Spain, Diego Alves if I'm not wrong ...
