no 7 looks pretty good, who's that boy?
Thanks, much appreciated, though I'd love to see any extended highlights if available.

The no 7 looks most likely to be Verdi, one of the stars of the primavera.

Although I trust leo to use the young payers more often than Carlo, I am dissapointed we haven't seen any young stars from our pre-season, besides Abate feauturing yet, considering the fact that we haven't been playing well with our older players anyway....

Bro, there is no one in the youth system that can play for Milan now.

Antonini and Borreillo are injured.
Di Gennaro and Darmian showed that both are not ready.
Albertazzi is in the U20 tourney.
Polashi is loaned out.
Strassuer is probably the only one that is ready, but I doubt his performance can be better than Gattuso, Ambro or Flamini.

im sure Strasser would be able to run and not lose his temper and do stupid things. he should get some minutes.

i dont think Antonini is hurt, he has been on the bench.

does anyone know how Dariman is doing on loan?

Look, the only way we can test our youth is when we have room to breathe, when we're in a good position in the table, when we're winning games. ie when we can AFFORD to take a few chances.

Looking at us now, it is impossible. Every game is a must win and we go behind early in every game. Leo has no choice but to play our tried and tested players. If anything, we need some new starters, some world class proven players, not necessarily youngsters.

i totally disagree with you. Our old players are not getting any results. why not give some youngsters a shot? i doubt they will be worse and they will add energy and desire, which we currently lack

This is exactly why strong teams have good strength in depth. It is for occasions when the usual starters are not performing, get injured, etc, etc that they've got strong, proven players on the bench who can step in and take over. This is why teams like Inter and Barca are so strong, it's because they have great squad depth. As far as we are concerned, we need both a stronger, fresher starting 11 and a better bench.

This is where you and I disagree---I think quality is needed on the bench for a team to win and win consistently. However, I dont agree that youngsters with no big game experience should be serving this purpose. It's counter-productive. On the one hand, they may step in and make mistakes causing the team to do poorly. ON the other hand, they will be scrutinzed til the end of the earth---do well and you're the next Van Basten. Do poorly and you suck forever. It can ruin the careers of many budding youngsters. There are examples of young players who are good enough to make the step up, but really, how many Patos and Messis do we see around?

I still say we need to build this team---get 11 top notch starters and get some quality players to compete with them sitting on the bench and then have a good youth academy where we can give our youngsters chances to shine in Coppa Italia games or league games where the score is settled and the pressure is off.

With the current LB situation, Albertazzi should have already been given a shot. Also, I would try Starsser for Ambro/Gatusso anyday. With all due respect, that pair is doing nothing but chasing shadows recently.

I dont disagree we need good depth. but we dont have it right now. when our old experienced players are making terrible mistakes, look like they arent motivated, and cant run, why not let some young guys get some experience. there arent expectations for our club right now. might as well give some guys a chance to play at an upper level which will help us in the future

Yes pirlofan, but would you start any youngsters against Roma next week? I certainly won't because we can't afford to lose that game. If we go 3-0 up at halftime, I might consider putting on a couple of prospects to see how they fare.

Point is we can't afford to take any risks. If Leo plays his first choice 11 (all old, but experienced ) and loses, well there's nothing more we couldve done and of course we all know Berlu is at fault for not replacing those players. Now if Leo plays it drastic and drops Seedorf or Pirlo or Gattuso and play some youngster and lose, everybody from us fans to the media to the club officials will be all over him for "trying" out players in a highly competitive game. Our only hope now is not the youth academy---that's the hope for the future. Our hope now is on the current starting 11, they have to somehow reverse the effects of aging and start performing.

Yeah, I agree it is too late to try out youngsters at this stage of the seaosn. Form now on, every game is vital for LEO and the club. It should have been done form day one, where we would have seen which youngsters had it for the top level and which ones didn't.

if they were tried at the beginning and we lost, Leo would get blamed for playing them. I'm not saying to start the U-21 team this week. Our midfield is terrible, and the 2 worst ones have been Gattuso and Ambro. Give Strasser some minutes.

you have to expect the primavera to be more affective this season after all for the first time in years they got some serious investment. if Milan were to call up some of the primavera i would like to see albertazzi strasser verdi and merkel given a opportunity
