Remember, Milan can't just snap its fingers and have everything we want. There are negotiations with other clubs and with the players themselves. Many possible targets signed elsewhere because there was a chance not only that Milan would not be in the Champions League, but might be relegated. So yes, under the circumstances, I will be very happy if Oliveira signs, even if nobody else does. It's not the end of the world. Even with the squad as it is -- without Oliveira -- odds are that Milan will advance to the knockout phase of the Champions League, challenge for the Scudetto despite the penalty, and finish high enough to qualify for the Champions League again next year. And even if Milan had brought in Tevez, Torres, Ronaldinho, Gallas, Oddo and half a dozen others, there would be no guarantees. I don't know about everyone else, but I will support any player who wears the Milan jersey and if this doesn't prove to be the greatest season in Milan history, I will remain confidence that next year will be better.
Advance to the knockout stages of the CL and finish high enough in the league to qualify for CL---is that all you expect from AC MIlan, Rick?

FOr me, that is simply not good enough. We must assemble a squad capable of winning the scudetto and the CL--at least one or the other (or preferably both ) every year. This is what our club is all about---it's about winning trophies while playing attacking, entertaining football. Our squad in the last two years came close to winning both the CL and scudetto, but didnt quite manage to do it. This year, we are essentially the same squad minus Sheva---you think we'll actually be able to win a trophy this year?

mzk57,

Sorry to ask you this question...
Do we want a good looking player alike Beckham or do we look for a good playing striker?

IMHO, we want a good playing meaning top striker in Milan squad instead of making a list of those who only act as actor or celebrity which were just useless for the team.

Exactly the same way I feel. I'm still hopeful something is up their sleeve.

La gazzetta dello Sport of today says about Oliveira:

Yes at Last. A deal with Betis Siviglia have been found.

During the night there were discussions about Vogel's last details.

But Amoroso will go to Corinthians.

Yesterday morning Braida returned in Italy, leaving behind in Siviglia a signed contract.
Base of contract are the conditions agreed on Wednesday. That are:
15million euros + Vogel + 450,000 euros (rights to be paid by Sevigla to La portuguesa, Oliveira's ex team). Payments to be paid in 2 terms.

Mr de Lopera caused many problems by putting on the negotiable table Leone's offer, that is: 22 million + Govou.

But in this case Oliveira's words were decisive. He said " Milan or nothing, I will not go to Leone and will not go to Saint Petersburgh. Or you will let me go to Milan or I will stay here, with the cost of not playing the whole season."

Oliveira helped by his agent Roberto Assis Ronaldinho's brother and comfortable by by Braida's calminess, he knew that his wish is only few hours away to be achieved. Even though Laporta continued to create problems for the whole yesterday, as trying to fix a friendly match against Milan for the century anniversary of the club, but Milan stayed calm, knowing that they are in advantage on all competitors.
And yesterday evening a deal was reached.

Looks like Milan do not want Oddo.
I cannot understand why he is going to stay with Lazio and Foggia is joining them on loan with a buying clause for next season.

With Oliveira Milan looks like their transfer market is closed.

Oddo is not coming.
Amoroso who was linked with Livorno in exchange with Amelia, is heading to Corinthians.

It all shows that Milan management are taking great care to keep the financial books balanced, as adviced by Berlusconi that Milan must start walking on their own feet and not depending every year on persons like him.

Who knows? May be Ronaldinho is much more than a wishful rumor.

You are welcome!

Vinesh, is Johannesburg beautiful as Cape Town?
I was there last summer and I'm looking forward to visit South Africa again when I have time.

actually Lyon did not hijack any deal... it was Betis that invited other offers for Oliveira... as to push up his value & force Milan into payin' more than needed...

lastest indicates that Foggia will join Lazio on loan... for an option to buy Oddo in the Jan TW or next season... apparently Oddo doesn't want to play 2nd fiddle to Cafu... he wants guranteed first team football... and he will get it next season when Milan will push Cafu down the peckin' order but not this season...

as Maltese Charlie mentions... Amoroso will likely join Corinthians... while Borriello might move to Livorno on loan... again for an option to get Amelia for the Jan TW or next season...

Simic will be stayin' & he was given affirmation as 2nd choice RB behind Cafu as well as the 1st choice behind the pairin' of Nesta & Kaladze as CB... this was reported to be the reason why Simic did not move last season...

thus... it looks like this season's transfer will only be Oliveira (besides those that joined previously)... Oddo & Amelia might either come in Jan or next season...

but what is strange is that even if we get Oliveira... we still might have both Amoroso & Borriello leavin'... wouldn't it make our attack rather thin? either we might play a 1 striker system durin' the course of the season (due to suspension/injury/rest) or we might be gettin' another striker...

other rumours indicate that both Sneijder & Huntelaar will likely join us next season...

seems that we are very much goin' to reinforce our squad for next season... but not the comin' season... strange isn't it?

yeah, if we were to spend money and were to reinforce, it should have been for this season.. because we started our season early and we are -8 in Serie A.. very strange indeed..

damn how much I wish Amoroso is going to Corinthians with a certain player from them coming this way!

Thanks for clearing that up, I thought they are tring to “steal” a player that we wanted, lots of clubs do that, and no I won't mention them.

Why other clubs hijack? it is very simple when we all competing to sign players, if I can make you pay more in this deal you will have less resources to fight in the next deal or we can agree that I pull out my pressure on you so that you will drop your bid for someother players I want.
