Well I honestly think if Pato plays as our leading striker things will be different, because he won't be ruining our ball movement by taking on four players at the same time.

Football games are won-and-lost in the midfield and through how a team reacts to losses in possession. Pato losing possession, in itself is not a bad thing, it is how we commit our FBs forward, and if the move is broken down, then our FBs can return to their position, covered by midfielders, to slow down the other team.

I am of the opinion that Ronaldinho will shine for Milan, or at least be useful, as a second-striker. That was basically what he was for Barca, so I'm inclined to think that if he is providing the ammunition for Pato or Huntelaar, then we will score goals.

The team has provided Pato with opportunities to do well. Not typical striker service, but if he is to be a second striker, this was his shot to prove that. He hasn't. He's made poor choices. But I'm not sure if it's about the team not doing that for him. Yes, service has been poor, but, taking Seedorf's first assist to Pippo against Marseille, Pato won possession and Seedorf essentially took the ball from under Pato's nose, and actually did something with it.

Does anyone think that Pato would have made the same play? I doubt it.

This is no criticism of Pato as a player. I think he's fantastic. I just think he needs to get it out of his mind that he's a second striker. It would be like Kaka suddenly believing he is the sort of deep-lying playmaker that Pirlo is. Theoretically it could work, but I doubt it would work on the field, just as I think we've seen Pato doesn't work as a second striker and that Dinho is really not a classic trequartista (at this age).

I hear you pirlofan, but believe me, this guy is as unstable as they come. I have been following his career from his breakthrough in Bari to his move to Roma to the move to Real then back in Italy with Samp. He is capable of genius, and then just imploding and doing something really stupid. If I were in charge of Milan----a team with European standing and reputation competing for international trophies, I won't risk my team's reputation and locker room signing a head case like him.

And dont forget, Galliani did have plenty of chances to sign him. He was available on a free from Roma, then on the cheap from Real. I think it was the Milan players that advised managment not to sign him (might be mistaken though)....

Samaldinho, you make good points. I agree with you, Ronaldinho is more suited to playing as a second striker, with the freedom to hover to either wing, take on defenders, provide assists, and take shots from the edge of the box. With his lack of pace and work rate, he is wasted as a trequartista.

With regards to Pato up front, I think it will work if he has someone like Ronnie supporting him. But I'm more in favour of rotating---R80 and Pato in some games, Pato Boriello in others, R80 Huntelaar in some games, and so on and so forth. After all, we should use our players to the max...which brings me to the point..if R80 is going to be our second striker, then we only have one true trequartista left, Seedorf, perhaps with Pirlo occasionally filling in. If only we knew this earlier, we could've lured Gourcuff back, because as far as the free roaming attacking midfield role is concerned, he is really on of the best available....oh well.

You will need to install a very small media player, which takes less then 10 sec. It will not be a problem at all. The link I gave is for the practice on 09/24. You can also go on milantime.acmilan.com and then select it from there.

Someone else posted this website a couple of days ago. It's pretty good. They don't show fll practice session but you'll be able to get an idea on what the team is working on at times.

i totally understand what you are saying, i agree that in the past Cassano has been a head case. However, i feel that since he left Madrid that he has grown up. he might still have a few minor issues, but so does a player like Totti. Cassano has been so professional that they named him vice captain. i think he is ready for a big club again and i feel that he would greatly improve our team

Now, I am satisfied with Huntelaar, I think he can become a great striker. However, I did prefer Edin Dzeko, and I knew that many people here (including myself) were worried about whether he would be a one-season wonder or not.

He's scored 4 goals in 7 games (in the league) for Wolfsburg, but his last goal was rather nice. Check it out here.

I hope that with Ronaldinho providing him ammunition, Huntelaar will hopefully start to find his feet. And, like Leonardo, I think it's rather unfair to even try and judge him yet considering how little time he's had with the team. However, I wouldn't mind to have our strike force be Dzeko, Pato, Huntelaar, Paloschi next year.

Its all well and good to be optimistic, but I prefer to be realistic.

Cassano for 20 Mill? I don't see it happening at all, simply because we won't be spending that much for one single player anymore. Berlu has other things to worry about, like his god-forsaken image. Also, if precedents are anything to look at, the only player purchases that we've ever made in a bad season during the winter market were always less than half of what we'd spend during the summer mercato before that.

Regardless of how bad we seem to be, and our position in the standings at winter, I don't see us buying more than one or two cheap players during the winter for around 7 to 8 Mil each, if we get anyone at all that is.

Its not a matter of "Management MUST act, because we're simply too bad". All of that kind of talk is from fans who are hopeful for management to change. After watching us regress, yet again, after one year of moving forward (and 4-5 years of regression before that), I don't have any confidence that the management won't be doing the same old stuff come January 2010.

Change is needed, but change won't come, not unless Berlu sells the club.

We the fans are simply dreaming of a scenario in which milan management suddenly have a change of heart of some kind and improve the team. Sure, a lot of us know that Cassano is not coming, but one can only dream. If we dwell on the obvious depressing facts, we'd all commit suicide.

Milan will not invest untill it is sold, fininvest doesn don approve any more spendings and that is it. Dont dream AGAIN, some people cant be real even if the truth falls on their head from the sky!

Today at 16:00h central European time you can watch Brasil - Costa Rica U20. Im assuming it will not be a tough game but we can take a look at some players like Giuliano for example. The replay is on eurosport around 19h I think.

Yep, my friend. I hope you guy are watching Giuliano playing right now. One ast. and one goal. The ref give us a help since Diogo did a clear foul in a late tackle.

Besides Giuliano, another player that I hype here is doing good. Alex Texeira from Vasco, the # 7. But he can do better. Paulo Henrique(#11) is feeling the debut. Also a player that I always heard great things but never saw playing is the LB of São Paulo, Diogo. A mix game for him(commited a penalty), but you can see he´s full of talent...
