Summer Mercato 2010

We need that Seedorf in his prime, 2004 Scudetto season Seedorf, a player like him would be perfect, pressure up, pressing, defending, keeping the ball, agressive, quick, strong, can defend well. i really dont know which player fits the bill, its very hard to find a player like him nowadays on the market.

Siregar, i agree with you on all points, Robinho's transfer is more important than wing back, cuz Pato's injury problems and not being Ronaldinho dependent, he was a must, cuz without Pato or Dinho 4-3-3 wont work. Didnt work last season without Pato and we hardly create.

i always said that last season Borriello is easily erased from the game vs solid defenders, he even cant keep the ball in attack, now we have a great weapon, Pirlo's long balls, wing backs crosses and long balls will be much more effective, ibra is great player. huge upgrade over Borriello.

Boateng is a player i like, if he can step up, he is what we need in midfield, in this case, we also need a Flamini, who should reach Arsenal self. Wing backs are important yet its not that important considering we are not playing with 4-3-1-2, As long as they are solid defensively, remember our defence with Kaladze and Simic as wing backs, Maldini and Nesta as CB's. we won CL with them yet failed at Serie A. Wing backs offensive game is important for Serie A yet now we are playing with 4-2-fantasia, as long as we have Dinho, Pato, Robinho, ibra, we will always create something.

Our primavera project is good yet we should do something more. we should find players for our first team, young player who have potential to step up and giving hard times to players we have. Our midfield are aged, slowly slowly we should refresh midfield. We linked with Poli for instance, it shows our MGT have that intention.

if we want to win something, Pato and Ronaldinho should make their job in team defence, Flamini and Boateng should step up, Antonini and Bonera/Papa/Whoever plays there should do solid job defensively. Players like Seedorf and Pirlo should be more consistent and should have great season. Then we will win something big for sure.

I do agree with the 4-2-3-1 description of Brasiliero, who said everything that tactically needed to be said in there. He also said we cannot play that formation as for we lack a player like Ganso ( who plays deeper then what would Robinho play for us IF he is choosed to play central in "3" part), and a player like Neymar who can defend deeper also. Plus, Pato defensively moves better then Ibrahimovic ( lets not forget that also!).

We also lack technicall aspect of our fullbacks. Only player that is technically gifter and as well has top class "football brain" is Zambrotta. Zambrotta had a good WC, maybe we can see some good football this year from him. After all, he was one of the best fullbacks serie a saw in last 10 years! Bonera has brains but lacks technique, Antonini has runing power and is tactically ready, but lacks technical security... So our fullbacks we also a danger etchncally wise in 4-2-3-1. Also, Milan will not play without Pirlo. And when Pirlo plays 4-2-3-1 is OFF. It simply isnt possible.

I however think we CAN play that is some minor San Siro games and in some later periods of matches. If Boateng shows some great football, we can try and play it when we are obviously doninant, for example in 3rd round game this year. but WITHOUT Pirlo. After that we have CL game, and we can rest Pirlo etc.

I feel simpathy for Allegri, who is a tactical coach with compact approach to the calcio. Everyone says so. I do not expact him to play it and I do not want Milan to play it!!

The players who play best should play! I need to say that I dislike Robinho also. I dislike the way he dribbles and I never wanted him in MIlan. I wanted VdV as we'd have less stars in the squad. I dont like the fact that now people think we are super strong etc., that we are "new galacticos" etc. That is not a way to win it all.

Yes Rabia15, I also think that the management also has been considering the alternatives for Seedorf and Pirlo aka creative, offensive players. As milannews reported, Sampdoria president himself confirm Milan interest in Poli but Milan didn't manage to get the player this summer (if I remember the news correctly). This shows that we are tracking the next cretive, offensive midfielder for our midfield.

Assuming Robinho has EU pass, we still have spot for non-EU player. I am curious why we left the non-EU spot blank. My wild imagination that we could buy brasilian player in winter transfer window.

I want to see Milan playing compact football, serious football as we did vs small LEcce. I expect serious Ronaldinho who works hard as he did now, and also a humility from Robinho, who is now 4th attacker in here. Pato is a player that needs to play, Ibra is such a player that simply rules serie a coz of his stile. Ronaldinho is Ronaldinho and alsough I think that Robinho-Ibra-Pato would be great(!), we'd probably see Dinho in first 11 all the time.

Lets hope it will all work out. I wish Robinho all the uck he can get, and now he can invite Jucilei to Milan. ucilei will replace Gattuso and Poli will slowly replace Pirlo.

News are saying Milan and Inter are in for Poli in the winter, says Doria president. Pili is considered the best italian U21 midfielder ( so was Giovinco, Cigarini... ), and Allegri also talked about him this summer.

My hope is that Milan is really now ready to spend, as we still need some things, specially with all the players like Seedorf, Gattuso, Oddo, Zambrotta, Inzaghi, Pirlo coming to the real end.

Don't forget FOSSATI. He seems a real talent of creative midfielder. We got it from Inter for supposedly 5 mil euros. I read in other forum saying that inter fans are pissed off with the transfer of Fossati to Milan as he could be next Seedorf, Pirlo, players successfully performed with Milan.

Well, great for us in a run for a Serie A title, but horrible for Italian clubs in Europe. We need better performances this season.

1st paragraph: Exactly the same opinion !!
2nd paragraph: If they can at least qualify for 1/4 finals with that team, that will be ok, at least, they have some depth as all their players have about the same level (all average/good).
3rd paragraph: Don't worry, giving the keys of the team to Benitez is already a big step to destroy their team !!

PS: I still remember some people here asking for Benitez to replace Ancelotti ... This year, they will understand, if they haven't understood yet, why you can't write Ancelotti and Benitez, or Milan and Benitez in the same sentence !!

The thing I noticed about the Inter Bologna game was the startling difference in attitude between Mourinho and Benitez during the last few minutes of the game. It was 92, 93 and Benitez looked defeated, slumped in the dugout, staring at his watch. Mourinho would have been jumping up and down shouting at everyone and the ref and his team would absorb that energy and turn into supermen.

I agree with the consensus that in any formation we use, we need to have two non-Pirlo midfielders.

I think the Robinho purchase is slightly more important that Ibra. I mean, if we had to choose, I think I would have picked Robinho. He just gives us so many more options and depth. Ibra will win us the league on his own, though...

RB is probably the most overrated coach, I think people only thinks he is a good coach mainly due to the upset of the CL final.

I'm thinking out loud...after the sales of Sheva and Kaka, the clubs knew we had money and pushed the prices up the minute we contacted them...now, after a few awful mercatos where we bought only old, served, free and cheap players, most of those clubs changed their mind...almost like Barca gave us Ibra like we give money to the poor people on the street I'm wondering if that was Berlu's masterplan all along That could be the reason we were so active in the last few days of the mercato...because, if we captured Ibra in july, the teams would have the time to understand we are not so cheap as we look....so Yepes was a great first purchase, if that really was the plan

Guess San Siro was just the place to be over the last few days and kudos to B & G and the entire managment for their effort in this summer mercato and helping make Milan a force to reckon. We may have started off slow in the market and every one expexted it to be a dull one too. But boy this horny mf Berlusconi does have some suprises up his sleeves. Btw does anyone know when the elections in Italy are?? I see some of us are still complaining that we need more and for what glorious reason i dont know. Yeah we do need some more players but the fact is we have had a very balanced transfer window in terms of quality, quantity and also to keep our books nice and clean compared to what s been happening over the last few years. So lets just be content and enjoy our season ahead and then start bitching again. Forza Milan
