last weeks good work goes down the drain

Arsenal are drawing with Saints at home so that will lessen the damage as long as it stays that way.

2 - 2 Van Persie saved them

1 point lost on them today, Utd are now 9 behind Arsenal and Chelsea, to catch that is going to be tough....

The season isn't exactly over, but we'd better get our act together if we're going to mount any kind of challenge.

9 points with the better part of 6-7 months to go is still recoverable, but still, can't let them get too far.

Two words, no teamwork.

No support in the form of overlapping runs for either Giggsy or Christiano by Gary and Heinze. No support to Paul Scholes from Phil Neville or the attacking midfielders (no one making themselves available for passes), he simply took the ball and passed it back into defence. Scholesy himself not supporting Rooney, Saha and Smith when they're holding the ball up (How many times did they get dispossessed by the defenders while trying to do so.

Training ground problems.........need to be sorted out immediately.

I agree with you, Rapierist... seemed like our players played on their own.. no teamwork and we sufferred many turn-overs..
even worse we got Neale Barry, a typically perfect ref for Arse..

We wasted couples of good chances in 1st half, then we conceeded 2 goals in 2nd half. WHAT A PRICE TO PAY!! We enjoyed the game too much then not put enough attention to get a better end result.

last week we were 11 points off the top so if you look at it that way we are closing the gap Arsenal and Chelsea have to play each other twice still so all is not over. We need the good run to start asap though....

this has been happening for a long time now, we play the smaller teams and it seems as though the players just wait for someone to win it for us instead of working together. The hallmark of our 90s teams was the ability to destroy teams with passing and movement and the current team has the ability to do it, which is why it gets so frustrating to see this

IMO we need to change the whole tactic. We conceed too many turn-overs, poor passings, poor players' positioning and poor teamwork.
a leading figure on the field is required since Keano suffers injuries more often. Ferdinand has done a good job, but he's too far down in the defense.

We shall not drop any more points!!!

its true, replacing Keane is going to be amajor problem to solve though against Arsenal none of the players needed telling how big a game it was and hw neccesary a performance was but against the smaller teams they need Keano to shout at them and to push them to perform.

can we find another Cantona, Steza?

btw, I've heard that Djibril Cisse of Liverpool has broke his leg in 2-2 draw against Blackburn at Ewood Park. I'm so sorried about that...
Cisse is the 3rd Liverpool player who broke leg at Ewood Park..
Carragher and Baros last season also broke their legs there.. at Ewood Park..

they showed it yesterday, not a good sight he probably wont play again this season which is a shame. It reminded me of when Dave Busst broke his leg when playing against Utd. Neither tackle was particularly strong, more of a freak accident...

We should've got Scott Parker last season you know. Before Chelsea got him.
He looks a stright up no nonsense hard working and talented midfield player. The kind that can control a match.
Oh well, hindsight is always great.

The money spent on Djemba and Kleberson looks like its going down the loo.

Fletch really needs to grow some b*lls. He's 20, not 17 anymore. He shouldn't get muscled off the ball that easily. I really thought when I saw him play for the first time that he had most of the attributes to play in central midfield. However, he hasn't done enough ball winning and hasn't shown enough steel since then.

It is there for everyone to see. We are not moving the ball at the speed we used to.

Remember not too long ago, when a swarm of players would be camped into the opposing team's half and the ball would ping about at a crazy rate, not giving opposing defenders or midfielders any time to close the players down.

To do that you need an unbelieveable level of understanding between the players. Each player has to know where the other is without even looking in that direction. That comes from time spent together on the pitch. Although, with the exception of two or three players, the rest of them have been playing together for more than a year.
Wonder what Queiroz and Phelan are doing.
