Do not take friendlies before WC so seriously too, but I think Italy has a clear edge against Germany if they meet in semifinal. And at every part of the pitch (keeper, defense, midfield and attack).
It's just one game and everything can happen in a space of just 90/120 minutes, but, in my modest opinion, Italy is favourite. They "just" need to beat Ukraine first...

well, let's see for ourselves. the italians does look much better overall compared to the germans. The italians love creating very clear cut chances by bringing the ball right in front the goal before putting in the net while the germans love long crosses and long shots. i have a feeling that these long shots would be useless against the italian defence while the german defence still look as weak as always. defence is the key.

Sheva still look good as always in the game though.....Tevez seem to be capable of replacing him though but is there any chance for us to get him?

Germany should be very ashame to have the victory as overall the Argentinians played much better football and just robbed the victory by the referee.

If Italy win the match against Ukraine then German will face Italy and I still remember when Italy totally killed Germany in a friendly in Florence by 4-1.
History will repeat and I personally wish that Italy will again teach Germany how t play football
tryin to cheapen the germany win with ref speculation. funni, cuz i remember not to long ago wen the ref gave italy a penalty in 90+ minute to beat australia. a penlaty which wuz clearly not deserved seein how the italian player stumbled over the australian. italy teach germany how to play? give me a break. look at who italy has faced thus far, australia n ukraine whilst germany has gone through hell with argentina n sweden. jus wait n see, germany is gonna beat italy. they may not have names, but they are disciplined and play as a team. as zlatanov pointed out germany is germany, and they WILL WIN.

must be a german speaking. i personally feel its true that the ref today seem to favour the germans, a lot of decisions keep going germans way. how does the germans get a freekick when the player fell over himself when he try to shoot is something beyond me. At least Grosso fell over something.

TEVEZ !

Some of his touches were fantastic today, i can imagine him linking up well with our midfield and forwards.

TEVEZ could settle in Carlo's formation. He can dribble and has the guts to fight. The only problem is his price, Corinthians did pay a lot for him 2 years ago

RVN is finished, to get him will simply be a DISASTROUS move.

One more time...what I think is the best is to drop Kaka more to the midfield where he could help Pirlo with his moovement and running and keeping the ball (not all the way down and get a more of a creative striker like Cassano (or Suazo) in. We would have the creativness of Sheva and a solid MF. And we could rely on Pippo and Gila to be our box striker, and both of them, especially Gila should like this setup....xMass tree 2.0

Would this be forseeable? Probably. Unbeatable? Most definitely

A new thought: I don't really think that Tevez is inteligent enough, and we could use sume inteligence upfront Maybe Torres is bit better inteligence-wise but he's not a Cassano type of a player, whereas Tevez somewhat is.

Or the Gila-as-a-space-opener-for-whoever solution is possible I guess in which case the ideal person could be _____________ (Toni/Torres). Bed time now

I definately don't agree with this. I think Tevez is quite tactically adept and disciplined, and showed more intelligent play in this WC than Torres imho. Honestly, I think Tevez does have room to improve, but I think he's probably the most complete young forward in the game today.

There are elements of Peckerman's attacking system which I don't like where one forward will usually stay more central and the other will spread into wide-areas (Tevez played this role more yesterday). Whilst this will effectively help stretch an opponents defence, I find the forwards become more isolated individuals rather than working as a unit, which makes it more difficult for them to create goalscoring chances (especially the one playing in Tevez's role yesterday).

Martin, please don't swear, I don't expect to have to edit anymore posts in the future, thank you.
