Zlat, I see your line of argument, but as long as we have Maldini in the dressing room (which wont be for much longer) we will have good stability, regardless of whom we purchase.

So, for me, the question is, how long will we have Maldini´s guidance, level headed maturity etc on and off the pitch? Him leaving the club could have serious implications for us...but as long as he is here...there is nothing to really worry about..

I dont see our players being jealous of Sir Ronnie of Buckteeth, worse if he is helping us win trophies....

Ronaldihno ok, but how we play?

From what Ronaldihno manager said i beleive that in the summer he will wear our shirt. He will be fit in our way of playing and in what type of formation if he finally arrive in Meazza?.

Basically will be playing with a lone striker with kaka and ronaldinho behind.
Ronaldo-kaka-ronaldinho = gullit-MVB-rijkaard

Ronaldinho's salary won't be nearly as high as 10 mil if we give him his rights, which is what the media was suggesting a littl while ago. The players make triple or even more from sponsorships then they make from salary. That's 'Dinho's problem at Barca right now..........they are not giving him his rights which actually means that if 'Dinho signs any comercial deal with any company, Barca gets a good percentage of that deal.
So having said that, if Milan gives him the majority of his rights he'll be happy to sign a "low" salary deal somewhere around 5 or 6 million simply because he will make up for that "low" salary by cashing in on his sponsorship deals. Every player out there that has a big sponsorship deal with big companies would prefer to have high percantage immage rights then to have a huge salary. Dinho's deal at Barca is just as such....he has a big salary but Barca takes a lot of "his" money from his rights. Of course he would not be happy when his sponsoship deals are worth triple(possible even more) then his salary.

Correct me if I am wrong but that's how I've been told things work with the whole "player's rights" thing.

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has sent fans into a frenzy after admitting they are now working on a deal for Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.

Berlusconi sensationally revealed last night: "Ronaldo refused the big money from the United Arab Emirates and the United States. He has said to me that he has always dreamed of playing for Milan and that he wants to come here in order to show to everyone that he is still a champion. Dida, Cafu and Kaka have all guaranteed to me his professionalism."

Berlusconi later promised Milan fans: "And now we work in order to also take Ronaldinho."
Looks like we are getting our season into some sort of order now i hope Roni and Ronaldinho come to Milan.

i believe actually Billy is more of a presence when it comes to this, also having Leonardo is a great benefit when it comes to SA players. In fact Leonardo can speak so many languages that he can help anyone fit in and talk with them.

Speculation suggests that Ronaldinho is looking for £8.5 million per season plus 100% of his image rights, if you add the initial transfer cost and then the subsequent payments per season, would we really pay that much for him?

In terms of wages, players usually take cuts to come here when they come from big clubs. I can't see us offering him that much per season, lets hope our negotiators are in tip top condition when/if they talk to him.

In regards to image rights, what exactly does that include?

Not really news, but i wasn't sure where else to put this and seeing how it involves Ronaldinho i plumped for here. This is the current table for the Golden boot.

1, Frederic Kanoute (Seville) 18 goals - 36 points
2, Didier Drogba (Chelsea) 17 - 34
3, Afonso Alves (Heerenveen) 22 - 33
4, Ronaldinho (Barcelona) 16 - 32
5, Maksim Gruznov * (Trans Narva) 31 - 31
6, Christian Ronaldo (Manchester United) and Diego Milito (Zaragozza) 15 - 30
8, Daniel Nannskog (Stabaek) 19 - 28.5
9, Francisco Totti (Rome) 14 - 28

* Championship already ended

Well Jim, as far as I understand, image rights are those private deals that a player makes with sponsors (Pepsi, Nike etc), which usually, go only to the player. Some clubs wish to take a percentage of those monies...with Real Madrid being one of the bigger ones to do so consistently.

So, if he wants all his image rights (Ronaldinho) then, we wont get anything say, if he signs a new deal with Adidas for the F50 tunits...for example

Now that Barça will likely be out of the CL, Ronaldinho will be somewhat easier to get, still very hard though... but did you see his face in the last 5 mins, he definitely lost his smile LOL

while thinking of how much money to spend on Dinho, Milan should also remember the above ... there are many factors that determine a team's success on the field and splashing a fortune on a player like Dinho is obviously far from enough.
So, before we start cutting blank checks we should do our math carefully and and even more carefully consider our objectives.
