Wow! What happen here! I'm gone for a couple of days and this. Listen, I thought we were having a constructive disagreement and boom red cards here and there. Holy Sh!t. I tell you what. I'll take partial fault in this matter because I did participate in what I thought was a respectful debate on this Sheva/Van Basten issue.

Really Sash21 if we seem to be rubbing you off the wrong way, I'll be the first to say I apologize. For my part I was trying to understand clearly what point you were trying to convey. The reasons, not only yours to determining why or who was a better player was not good enough because the argument you and others including myself made can go both ways. That is why I said in the end that whatever reason, through only my eyes I saw Van Basten as the better player. IT WAS AN OPINION. Like all other excuses here pro Sheva or pro-Van Basten. I think all MILAN FANS ARE PRO SHEVA and eternally greatful to MARCO VAN BASTEN.
There is no disagreement among any Milan fans on that issue. END OF STORY!

Now with regards to what qualifies a Golden Boot winner or FIFA player of the Year winner..... OK that is open to debate on.
Perhaps we all became victims of the title of the thread "Sheva is better than Van Basten?" because it ends up dividing all of us on an issue of PLAYERS WE ALL RESPECT.
Still it is no excuse for us to swear at each other like that SASH. I can understand and forgive you up to a point but please we all here over time have built a mutual respect for each other.
I myself have had my absolute dire anger with my fellow members here and I did feel like how you were feeling when you swore. But I never let it get that far out like that.
NOW listen I am willing to firstly apologize to the situation that has occured and able to forget that you swore in anger like you did. But you need to also apologize to those you said F-off to because that is way out of line already.
I have and continue to try and build the absolute respect of my fellow posters here, including you. But this has to be a mutual thing Sash. What do you say?

And I didn't contradict myself.........
I asked when was the last time a player from a small club won the Golden Ball, so Snapster used two players from Dynamo Kiev from 70 and 80 as an example (Belanov and Blohin)... So I told him that in that years Dynamo was a big club with strong squads (practiclly the whole soviet national team)...

And than this Henrik uses this as an example of me contridicting myself!!! I mean what the flamin' hounds of doom. And than some guys began laughing at me, so yeah... join me in silent prayer!!!!

4 pages of discussion to decide whether Sheva is better than Marco? Sheva is the most complete striker in world football today. Nobody is coming close to him regarding completeness. But compared to Marco? No my friends. Van Basten was just from another league and that is not downgrading Sheva at all. It is just to show how good the Swan of Utrecht was.

Seeing is believing guys. See him and you will get goosebumps. Sheva and MvB together today would mean lights out.

Kui your right in fairness. I let that get a rise out of me which ordinarilly i wouldn't do but when your writing that from your desk in work in the midst of what is vastly becoming a crap day and the end of a crap week you can understand where it came from. It caught me at a bad time.

By the way, your answer a few posts back was beautifully diplomatic. Ever think of joining the UN?
