we are lucky, fvckin lucky... again a goal in last minute... it is sweet feeling but it also make some deep conciderations that we are not able to proove our superiority by scoring early goals.... maybe someday that last minute goal wont be scored and we wont win... so it is time to solve that problem, unless...

PS: eventually we are there we belong - at the top of the table

1 striker is good too but the question is, will Berlusconi allow that? Well u know what I mean.... bu7t yes I agree that 1 striker can be lethal.

This is a future assumption, not something present.

Ancelotti hinted at how he would set out Milan tactically for their Champions’ League showdown at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

“Manchester United are strong on the wings, so it’s important to close them down there and try to slow their tempo by keeping hold of the ball.”

Apparently he realises it too. So everything is fine as I interpret it as bolstering midfield. But plz no Ambro-Gattuso....I want the Brazilians.

Milan gained a dramatic late victory over Cagliari to move joint-top of the table with Juventus thanks to a stunning half-volley from Serginho.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti made a number of changes to the side, with Giuseppe Pancaro coming in at left-back while Paolo Maldini was partnered by Jaap Stam in the centre of defence. Rui Costa and Christian Brocchi were given starts in midfield and Jon Dahl Tomasson joined Andriy Shevchenko in attack.
Milan dominated from the start and Shevchenko ran on to Rui Costa’s pass only to have his shot charged down, then Clarence Seedorf fired wide from the edge of the area. The Rossoneri, however, suffered an early set-back when Shevchenko had to leave the pitch with a head injury. The Ukrainian rose to send in a powerful header from a Cufu cross which goalkeeper Gennaro Iezzo did well to save but unfortunately, the striker collided with defender Simone Loria and was replaced by Crespo. The home side kept pressing forward and Iezzo could only parry a fierce Seedorf strike and Rui Costa saw his follow-up charged down for a corner kick. Seedorf again tried his luck from distance while Cafu drove wide from a tight angle. The best chance came on 40 minutes when Pancaro swept a low ball across the face of the goal which just evaded the incoming Crespo and Tomasson.
Cagliari created an opening early in the second half when Massimo Gobbi’s low effort was deflected wide of the goal by Mauro Esposito while at the other end, Andrea Pirlo just missed the target with a curling effort. Maldini then skipped past two opponents down the left flank but when the ball came out to Rui Costa, the Portuguese star could not keep his shot down. Kaka came on for the last 20 minutes for Tomasson but Milan were soon left in ten men as Pancaro received his second yellow card for a foul on Esposito. Kaka then got a low drive away which the ’keeper saved and Rui Costa arrived at the back post only to put a downward header wide. As the game headed deep into injury time, Cafu took advantage of Francesco Pisano’s slip at the byline and floated a wonderful cross to the back post for Serginho to rasp home the winner. The Sardinian side felt that their player had been pushed and Alessandro Agostini was sent-off for protesting.

Till now it was OK to keep hold of the system but he should realize that it doesn't really work.
We were supposed to pick up our form after January, but nothing happened. It's time for a change.

People, I think only an idiot could say that Carletto does not commit any mistakes, I mean he is human after all, isn't he? However, you guys are going way too far in your criticism of our coach so please stop behaving like soccer specialist who think they know every aspect of the game just because they have seen a game or two and put a stop to your inciteful comments on Carlo's mistakes - a lot of water will go by until you are in the capacity to criticise someone like Ancelloti.
In short, shut up, stop philosophising, and pay more attention so that you learn something from those who are coming from where you are headed to.

[02/19] Sheva Fractures Cheekbone

Andriy Shevchenko has fractured his cheekbone and will undergo surgery on Monday, so he’ll miss the Manchester United match and probably the derby.

The European Player of the Year clashed heads with Simone Loria during the early stages of tonight’s 1-0 win over Cagliari and was taken to hospital for an x-ray that found a fracture of the cheekbone and the bone surrounding his left eye.

“It is too early to say, as we need to evaluate a few things and wait 24 to 36 hours,” explained Dr Jean Pierre Meersseman. “Generally these injuries need 15 days to recover from, and even then he would play with a protective mask, but it’s not certain whether or not he’ll miss the Milan derby.”

Nonetheless, this is a heavy blow, especially as Shevchenko already has a history of facial injuries with a split lip suffered last year.

“It’s a shame as he was hit hard and we hope to get him back as soon as possible,” noted Carlo Ancelotti. “This can be a stimulus to the other players to do even better and make up for his absence.”

The last-gasp winner caused controversy, as Cagliari believed Marcos Cafu pushed Pisano in the lead-up to Serginho’s goal.

“Cafu might have leaned on him a little, but Pisano was trying to avoid the corner kick and became unbalanced,” insisted Ancelotti.

He got some unusual support from Sardinian boss Daniele Arrigoni, who berated his players for taking their protests too far.

“I don’t think it was a foul and certainly nothing scandalous,” said Arrigoni. “Pisano tried to prevent the corner kick and didn’t see Cafu so close to him.”

Ancelotti conceded there were still problems, as Milan have won their last three games thanks to two stoppage-time strikes and an own goal.

“The team played better than against Reggina and yet ran into the same old problems, as Cagliari set up an excellent defence and were very dangerous on the counter-attack. We tried to play our style and aimed some long-range efforts at goal. We had a good dose of luck here, but also showed great character.”

“At last we are back on top of the table and that’s all that matters. We were certainly lucky over the last few games, but fortune favours the brave and we’ve certainly been that.”

Shevchenko’s injury is set to keep him out of action for at least a week, possibly more, and Pippo Inzaghi is still sidelined with a fractured bone in his hand.

“Shevchenko is very handy when you’re taking on a closed defence, but Crespo and Tomasson made a great pairing when they won 4-1 at Messina a few weeks ago, so there’s no problem of compatibility. Inzaghi is one of the best strikers in the world when it comes to being a goal poacher, so we do miss him.”

Yes ,I am definately for the one striker role against Manure + we should play Dhorasoo; English defences don't like playing against players who can dribble well, it unnerves them.
Biggest mistake is if we play a 442 system,we can't compete with Manure with a 442 system they know how the system works through and through, they used for almost 20 years.

But Carlo? I just don't get the criticism of the man that's brought us glory again. a european champions league and a league title, and let's not forget how he scraped us into 4th place in his first season to qualify for the champions league after the disasterous start of that campaign before he took over. this is a man who has not failed to deliver on any occasion for us. Only mourinho has been more succesful than him over the last 2 seasons.

I said before this game, I'd take luck. Forza milan!

now let's get serious and show the world what we can do.

I don't know..I think Capello made mistakes...Ancelotti Mr. one CL title vs. Juve and one scudetto is just proving that he is human and trying to juggle issues like a not too healthy Pirlo...defensive issues..a Kaka in risk of not playing in the derby and then facing an injured Sheva more over trying to play some players so that they have some form when they are called up.
