If Milan were willing to make for Chelski in the Gila-affair, Crespo would already be with us, and he isn't, but more importantly, it would be a stupid move when your eyes are on the future.

What do you mean???? It is guessing.
Crespo is the leverage.

Lets take each year as it comes, somehow this strategy seems to be working at Milan.

Why is Italy still in love with this loser? He NEVER performs in big games (see the WCup if you doubt me) and now we have aquired him?

I dont give a fcuk if he used to be great...he isnt now, and at his age, can only go downhill from here....what are we? An old age home for has been talent? This is crap...I hope that I eat my words and he has a 20+ goal season...but I REALLY doubt it...

I truly hope this doesnt mean that we have given up on Gilardino, who in my estimation is the best thing in Italy since pizza...

I am shocked, dismayed, and thoroughly put out at this move by the Milan suits...words cannot express my disappointment.

The only thing that can make up for this, is to see Gilardino holding up a Milan shirt at a press confrence under the caption "Milan capture Gilardino"...
i dont really think your being fair with vieri.

he has been outstanding wherever he has been. from la liga to serie a he has always consistently hit 20 or so goals in a season.

secondly for italy he has been both good and bad. granted he was nothing special in the last tournament but then again alot of that italy squad was useless too. he has had more than his fair share of injuries and this could be a problem.

however the guy is a free transfer who scores goals wherever he goes, hes not going to have to suffer any culture shock apart from joining a team that wants to win and i don`t think we can complain much because its not really a risk at all.

i`d take him over jon dal "where is the goal" tomasson any day of the week.

p.s. we must also rememeber we have done many, many bad deals before with inter. i mean look at simic, seedorf and pirlo!! i think inter are THE STUPIDEST people on earth..i mean have they not learnt there lesson?!

in fact do you know how stupid inter really are?!
brescia saw a young kaka when he was playing for sao paolo and approached inter about securing a co-option for the player. cuper at the time said no as it wouldn`t fit into his rigid 4-4-2 formation. inter also had the chance to sign ronaldinho but again cuper turned it down as it didn`t fit into his rigid 4-4-2...FOOLS!!!!!!!!

completely agree with you, there are too many obstacles trying to obtain Gila. plus Berlu is at the G8.

Warro maybe we got Vieri to reduce the burden of losing Crespo while we Bid for Gila, you know Chelsea are playing games, maybe they catch one(Crespo) while we shake 2(Vieri, Gila) .

I hope we do not get Crespo, why do people think he is that great? We need a younger striker like Gilardino, I am fine with the signing of Vieri but getting Crespo as well and leaving Chelsea to sign Gilardino is stupid and I would be very worried about Milan's overall transfer policy this season and in the future.

I think that Gilardino is still coming despite this transfer. We definetly won't be giving him to Chelsea now that Crespo isn't coming. We wanted to sign Gila and Crespo now we have Vieri, better than Crespo imho, and are still going for Gilardino. The best thing is this was a free transfer so Milan can devout all of our money to buying Gilardino.

Vieri is a solid striker and I think playing with Pippo will be good for both of them. Vieri is still capabke of scoring 20 goals, maybe a change of atmosphere is all he needed.

Welcome to the good side of Milan Vieri!

Can people please stop acting like idiots here?

Gilardino hasn't punched you lot in the face, nor called you names, so stop the foul language!

Kui, maybe it is you who has a problem and it is that you are so pissimistic on the Gila transfer - why do you think every other team is looking for other solutions if Gila and Milan wasn't already a close to sure thing with only a couple of formalities left to be determined. Chelsea are offering 10 mil euros more than Parma's asking price yet they are as far away from Gila as it gets. Why do you think the Crespo deal fell through and immediately after that Chelsea, from being one of the most serious Gila-contenders, started throwing bid after bid for half of Europe's center forwards until they finally seem to have attracted Juve's attention regarding Trezeguet? Chances are Chelsea did try to use Crespo in order to make Milan pull out of the Gila-saga but Milan didn't agree and that's why Chelsea started looking around for someone else, while Crespo staying at MIlan became more and more unlikely to happen.
The rumours that Juve, once they sell Trez, will enter a bidding war with Milan are coming from pessimistic people who probably walk around with a cyanide pill in their pockets. Juve would never do this for they know that what is going to follow would be bad for both Milan and Juve. When was really the last time Juve and Milan interfered with each other's business, especially when one of the two teams is so close to finilizing a deal? Chances are that most form members were not even born yet.
As for Inter, yesterday they were reported to be interested in stealing Gila from Milan. Moratti and Parma's managing director held talks and all of a sudden today Moratti says - "we are great even without Gila; we don't need him." Such a change in one single day after talking to Parma? Don't you find this quite suspicious?
What happened to Real? They were interested but after some talks with Parma they mysteriously puled out of the race and haven't been heard from in quite some time. Don't you think that there is a trend in here - all clubs, who have interest in Gila, after talking to Parma, for some reason they either start looking for some other striker or declair that they don't need Gila anymore?

These are the words of someone who has lost hope.
As for "hijacking" Dinho, since Barca are far from willing to even hold talks with another team, this "some millions" would have to be more like 100 mil euros for Dinho's buyout clause is somewhere between 100 and 150 mil euros.
If hijacking a player was easy, Chelsea would do just that with Sheva.

This is ONLY good with Gila coming to us, otherwise I do not feel that positive about this move. Gila was and should be first choice...

OK... I'm the one with the problem This is why I dont like the Summer. All the pundits have made nothing but guesses. Nobody is right about a darn thing. This Vieri signing is a good example cause none of us here had one d@mn thread about him here posted.
And so what happens when peoples guessing doesnt come true???? We blame Galliani and Berlusconi and ANcelotti like a bunch of spoilt brats.
All I am saying is that I'm not guessing one way or the other. He comes fine. He doesnt.... I'm not surprised. Can you say this???? I mean you havent given speculation.. you have given more like the false hope that he "is" coming.
