A partner for Gila

I think Huntelaar is enormously talented and has the potential to become a truly great worldclass player.
There's lots of interest for him right now from Manchester United and Arsenal, but I don't think he wants to leave Ajax just yet.
I'm also wondering which competition (i.e. Italian, English, Spanish) would suit a player with his qualities the best or maybe he could just succeed in any of them? What do you think?

Huntelaar could be amazing but i can't see a Huntelaar & Gilardino partnership working.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't buy him, but we'd either need Oliveira to display his best Betis form or get another striker like the Brazilian.

Huntelaar is playing in Eredivisie 1, and is scoring freely. Gilardino played in Serie A, and scored 23 goals in 2 seasons back-to-back. What makes you think Huntelaar will be better than Gila? IMO, it depends on his personality.

Who knows he might be!But at the moment huntelaar is far better than gila!

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Milan and Inter are set to do battle for the services of Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutch international was signed by Ajax from Heerenveen for £6.4m, but is now valued at around £8m having scored an impressive 20 goals in 22 matches for the Amsterdam outfit.

The 23-year-old was the top scorer in the side which won last summer’s U-21 European Championship.

He was also awarded the European Golden Boot for the 2005-06 season as the highest scorer in all the top European Divisions, having netted 33 times.

Milan are currently facing an emergency in their striking department just eight games in to the season,

Alberto Gilardino is yet to score his first goal of the season, while Ricardo Oliveira and Pippo Inzaghi have not scored since the opening game of the season.

Rivals Inter have plenty of options in attack, including summer signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hernan Crespo.

However, they are now one man short after the Via Durini club allowed Adriano to return to Brazil to recuperate.

The Emperor’s agent reiterated that the striker will shortly return to train with Inter after taking care of some personal issues back home.

But Adriano himself stated on Wednesday that he didn’t know when he would return, fuelling speculation that he may leave the club during the winter transfer window in January.

If the reported figure of £8 million is to be believed, i would say yes please!

If milan is really interested to buy Huntelaar i dont think it will be for 8-10 milion euros!I think they will ask more.

at the last two years milan splashed 44 milion euros for attackers.
last year we bought Gila for 26 m. euros
and this year 18 m. euros fo Oliveira.
Thats a lot of money, and AT THE MOMENT! the money that we splashed are fault!

btw, Huntelaar moved to Ajax from Heerenveen for 9 mil euros - most expensive transfer between two Dutch clubs, I think - so forget Ajax selling him for less than 15 mil to any club out there.

well... my Dutch source told me that Milan is ahead of any club in pursue of them at that time (possibly still is)... but lately Inter is steppin' up with a better deal package inclusive of player exchanges...

imagine if you are Ajax... you lose 2 superstars to Milan for money alone... but you can get back at least 1 good player plus money from Inter... Scolari & Adriano are amongst the list of players Inter is willin' to trade...

I think we are safe when it comes to competition from Inter for any Dutch NT player ... till MvB is NT coach, he knows how to advice his players ... not to mention that these guys must be on crack to prefer Inter over Milan, with a fresh example named Andy van der Mayde.
Also, Ajax has always been a club that goes for the money - transfers has always been one of their major sources of cash to keep the club running - and they have a rich array of young, talanted and cheap players to choose from in Holland.
Not to forget that Stam moved to Ajax from Milan for free basically, which would give us a boost in a possible competition with Inter, or any other club, for Ajax players.
My point is, if we really want Huntelaar or Sneijder, we'll get them.

i really would like to see huntelaar.
but i don't think he would change this season.
i think he's talented, from what i've seen in these youtube compilations (lol yeah)
and he's young, and would bring some 'freshness' into milan.
but apparently berlusconi won't buy anyone in january
