I havent seen much of Pato at all to be honest. For those of us who have, ie. Nordahl/Gre-no-li: Is he good enough to play for us now?

Let's take age out of the issue, if he's good enough, we should give him a chance. After all, Kaka was only 22 when he signed for us and became an immediate star. If I'm not mistaken, wasnt Leo Messi also 17 when he broke into Barca's first team?

says that Carlo has given his approval of a possible transfer for Pato after a talk with Galliani and Braida.
Carlo is also reportedly in Canada where he would watch Pato in person in the U-20 World Cup starting today.

btw, here are some links for the Poland-Brazil game in which Pato is expected to play:

According to channel 4 football italia

Pato agent in Milan
Saturday 30 June, 2007
The agent of teenage sensation Alexandre Pato is in Milan for talks with both San Siro clubs, although Chelsea also want the Brazilian.

Representative Gilmar Veloz flew in to Milan this morning for negotiations, as 17-year-old Pato has set the transfer market alight with his performances for Internacional.

He has already won the Copa Libertadores and FIFA World Club Championship and was a star of the Under-20 South American Championship, won by Brazil in January.

“Pato is a young player, very young, but we are not the only important club who like him,” noted Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti on Friday.

Inter are also preparing a firm Ł17m bid for what many have referred to as ‘the new Kaka’, but Chelsea are in the frame too.

Well, that's not an easy question, not at all... but yes, I think he's ready to shine on an european top side, which, I hope so, will be Milan. He's, above all, not only a fantastic footballer, but also a very calm and centered person, and I guess that's very important too.

that didn't bother people to crown Henry a super-striker.
let's cut pato some slack though - the guy is only 17/18 years old, he is still a kid FCS ... he is not expected or even supposed to be perfect just yet.

If Milan goes for Pato at all, they would do so with the expectations that he would develope and improve a great deal over the next 3-5 years ...

Or R10 in the CL final last year? Or maybe Sheva in the final the year before that? He maybe a kid but to me hes over hyped, the world was watching in the WCC final when they played Barca and to be honest he aint nothing special, comparing him to anyone or even the new Kaka is a joke.

Like you said in a few years maybe he can be compared, but not now we dont need a striker who we can wait for. We need one who will win us trophies from this point on, not trophies in 5 years time (well yeah we do but lets see when the time comes).
