At first I wasnt sure how I would sum up all of your thoughts and opinions regarding this subject. This last quote kind of made my mind up for all of it. I'll agree on it for the most part. For one thing it WAS a foolish thing for Lucarelli to comment on. It was also foolish for all of us to then give it credibility by responding to it.
Was MVB great? Sure he was. Can Zlatan Ibrahimovich be great as well? I'm sure he can. Yet I dont like it when all of us try to then do all the Greats and injustice by pondering who was greater. Yes... we all have our opinions including I. IMO, I hold all them equal on the rostra of greatness. Pele or Maradonna, etc, etc? I say both and all of them.

I think there must be some criteria for separating the Greats....e.g :how do we know for sure that Pele' is better than Henry?? Simple, Pele had more skills scored more, won more tournaments and played under more pressure. If we judge each along similar lines, we can seee who is better than who....that's why I think Ronaldo is the best ever

Kui, what Lucarelli did is the same with what we're all doing here: arguing or commenting about things based on our criteria and knowledge, while respecting people's opinion at the same time
So i believe expressing our thoughts in a polite manner is far from a foolish thing to do

Ok... let me play along NxS. I find it wise to determine things and thoughts well before any of it has ever come to be determined.

And i don't think Ronaldo is so good as Zlatan is. He's average, imo. Something like Julio Cruz from Inter . He's better than , lets say, Floro Flores from Arezzo , but he's not even close to players like Crouch and Simone Inzaghi. They're both better than Ronaldo !
wow.. you must have short memory span or you just started watching football in 2005?? Ronaldo was the Best Player in The World more than 2 Years ( as someone posted earlier ).. He was the Best Without A Doubt when he was Barcelona.. not forgetting that he was without equal even when he was starting to showing *Peeks* of whats to come when he was at PSV..

Even when he was at Madrid & Inter.. He was simply Superb whenever he did
play ( was top scorer of La Liga a few times while being called *Fatty*?? )

Oh, come onnnnnnnnn
You can't compare Ronaldo with Simone Inzaghi !
I read that S. Inzaghi scored 4 goals on one CL match, did Ronaldo score 4 goals on one match ?
I also read S. Inzaghi scored the 4th goal to Inter on May 8th 2002 and killed their hopes for a tittle while Ronaldo was only crying when his team Inter lost the match.
Not to mention Crouchinho. Did you see that bycicle kick goal he scored this year - class. When will Ronaldo do smthg like that ?

Since you put it that way.. When will Simone Inzaghi win a World Cup with
Italy and actually contribute ( striker: Score Goals )
When will Simone Inzaghi score the Only 2 Goals in a World Cup Final against
a GK in Extreme Top Form ( 1 handful of goals Conceded till WC Final.. )
When will Croucinho (<-- who the *F* is this?? Lmao..) dribble past 3-4 World Class opposition Defenders + Round the Keeper to score almost Every Single game like Ronaldo During his Time at Barcelona
When will Croucinho Put on Weight, Get labelled *Fatty* and still be the League top Scorer like Ronaldo?
When will Simone Inzaghi & Croucinho (Combined!) score 13 Goals In All their World Cups (Combined!)??

Its pure sillyness to compare Simone Inzaghi with Ronaldo.. lmao.. Pippo.. maybe.. Simone..?? you must be crazy..

I think Tony is just having some fun here....don't take his bait
Ronaldo is more skilled than Zlatan could hope to dream and is much faster too. Ronaldo isn't a dirty player either. Tony knows this too, I'm sure he's having a good neigh somewhere.

Ronaldo is the best attacker i've seen in my life, and i don't see someone who can make me change my mind. Not Zlatan or Eto'o and not even some superstars like Sheva, Henry or Del Piero.

It's a cliche to say the injury stopped him from showing his best, but i really think so and i can't help thinking that if he didn't get that nasty injury we would have witnessed things that not even the older, "Pele", generations saw.
Ronaldo would have been concidered the best player ever if some not talented for football , legs braker idiot didn't lose his mind because Ronaldo was making foot out of him.

He entered the big scene very early and the standards he set were very hard to beat even by him. That's why even when he was scoring like crazy in Inter and Real people weren't impressed by him. Because they knew what was the 19 years old boy doing and they all expected the 24-25 years old Ronaldo to be much better than he was at 19. He was doing great and people were still dissapointed and wanted more.

The 'footballnewsless" ( i think i just descovered a new word ) days only made things worse because journalists didn't have what to write and they found a new hobby in insulting Ronaldo.
People felt on that and suddenly the world had an opinion that Ronaldo is finished, couldn't score even in a brothel, can't run.... they made him a veteran player at the time when he should have lived his best football days.

Not much that he can do this year, but next year, if he won't get injured, he'll show the world how wrong everybody was regarding him.

Ronaldo to score +30 goals in serie A next year is my prediction !

Ronaldo to get several lumps of crap kicked out of him every game and miss chunks of the season is my prediction.

van basten supported by the great midfielders - not true

Hey Tony 29

what's this about van basten supported by one of the best midfield ever in his time ?.

Van basten had donadoni - a decent left sided player who crosses the ball about ten times in a season, rijkaard was world class but essentially a defensive essien or makelele, ancelotti was just a upgraded version of amrbrosini.

Hardly a sympohony of juicy creative playmakers !. Ronaldo had much better creativive players at real madrid and brazil !.

This is what i would love to have players supporting me if i am center forward

glenn hoddle - zidane - beckham - john barnes

lajos detari- carrick -peter beardsley- francesco totti
