Also, my suggestions above do say we should press higher up the pitch, never mind for years I've said we play too deep, so I don't disagree about us being too defensive. Quote:

The problem Lebanese mentioned is true. There is fat too much space between 4 at the back and midfielde. And that is due to unability from Il Capitano, Kaladze, Favalli, Pirlo, Seedorf etc to play high tempo movement and press the space. We play our defence with back 4 on 16 m from our goal, and Kaka' on 35m, and we should play back 4 at 30m from our goal... something for example Inter did in 2nd half vs United where they managed to close the playing space and create pressure. Something we also did vs United in 3:0 victory in CL. -----Zambro-Nesta-Thiago-LB(NOT MAREK!!)--- ----------------Flamini---------- -------Gattuso-----Gourcuff- ----------Kaka'---Dinho-------- --------------Pato---------- This is a team with only ONE investement financially...

In fact, the only real difference in our opinions with regards to how we should play is that you think Pirlo shouldn't be included in the lineup while I think he should. Two different approaches, but ultimately we appear to share the same goal. |

Milan players don't fight to get the ball back at all..especially our strikers..Eto'o is a fighter, henry, rooney, tevez, messi, Drogba, ribery all fight and hustle for the ball...These players help out in offense as well as defending and trying to get bak the ball..Kaka, ronnie don't do these...When milan is playing, they're actually playing with 10 men when defending cuz ronnie doesn't do anything to help in trying to recover the ball...

Not much diifferent ah? Fit Nesta, Maldini that could actually jump, Pirlo was fitter, Seedorf always had 2 games off before CL games to get fully fit in Milanello ( before Bayern and United ), Kaka' won the golden ball and played football out of this world and a football that he DOESNT play now, Pippo was eficient and was much more powerfull and fitter then now...we had Gattuso and Ambrosini who wasnt late for every 3rd duel like he is this year. A difference of 2 years is a big difference for the same 11 starting players. And that United was not as strong as this United, not near.

I understand that the position on the board in the locker room and actual role arent the same thing. But lets play Pirlo next to Seedorf in the middle with the SAME roles as 2004 and you'll see they cant performe it. Simply, the energy is gone. Its a natural thing.
What bothers me are the reactions on the field, which are nonchalant. About Carlo's statement that is in your signature: Its a normal thing to sAy, nothing wise. But that means they beed to work and train hard and behave with fighting spirit and with attitute on the pitch. And all I see from some players in most of the cases is quite opposite. Including Galliani's Dubai trips for money friendlys. Also, same interwiews were last year "no panic, its all ok", and we finished 5th.

Pirlo+Flamini is a good combo.
Plus having janku and becks also helps his passing to wide positions. |

I think Pirlo still has his part in the team, especially if the rest of the midfield is good enough (for instance: Flamini, Kaka, maybe Gattuso or someone new).
But Seedorf, although he was great when in his prime, should have been replaced at least a year ago with a younger player (Gourcuff maybe). The same thing goes for Maldini. The thing that bothers me the most, is Carlo's statement that we should win third place this year and qualify for the CL..........WTF????? In the begining of the season we were title challengers and now suddenly it's not that important anymore...because "things are fine and improving". Improving to what????? We may be second in the end??
