Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi admits “it is very difficult to keep hold of Kaka,” but that nothing has been decided.

“He is a lad whose career does not last forever, so if he has the chance to pick up a lot more than he has now, it is difficult to say no.

“We cannot increase his wages, as they are already at the top level. We would have to bump up everybody’s in the squad and frankly that is not possible.

“Having said all that, I do hope Kaka stays.”

The Brazilian is already the top paid player in the world with £7m per season until 2013, a contract signed in February 2008, but he would be offered a staggering £500,000 per week at Manchester City.

Kaka joined the Rossoneri in 2003 from San Paolo for £5m.

Who do we believe? If this is the case, then Kaka wants us to increase his contract to something similar to that of Man. City...something which I honestly don't find hard to believe because he's negotiated a new contract every season.

Yes, each mercato was an occasion to read amazing and original news starting by "Kaka' has a new contract", with as only changes between them the amount of the wage, and sometimes, but not always, a year added to it ...
