Official: Yoann Gourcuff PERMANENT TRANSFER to Bordeaux

Riquelme was slow..he had an amazing vision..he could see passes that no others could see..

Completely agree with Mystik, his ideas match mine pretty much exactly.

About this pace issue. Fast running isn't key to playing a fast game, it's better to be able to move the ball around quickly than have fast runner to run at opponents. This will naturally speed up our play and will generally make it harder for oppoenents to stop us. Gourcuff has a LOT of movement (I completely agree with Warro this is a necessity) which will benefit us highly. His pace, especially in the role he plays, isn't particularly important and as long as he can distribute the ball quickly then he won't suffer.

If we buy another striker, someone who will play, and by knowing that Pato will still have space I think (I hope), we could see something like:

---------- Kaka' ------------
Flamini -- Gourcuff -- Gattuso

This way, you have the box-to-box players in midfield + 2 strikers + Kaka' ... and we can easily modify it if that doesn't work with Pirlo, Seedorf, Ronaldinho etc (because again, we need to keep them, for example Seedorf, he has to stay but not as a starter, if we sell the players people say we have to sell here, we will again have an excellent first team without bench, we will fail in Serie A again, if we are lucky with injuries, we will do well in CL, and they will bash our management and coach by saying it's a disgrace not to compete in Serie A with such a team).

Gourcuff was always compared to Zidane.... from his style of play.... I really think its about time we try him out in the center of midfield, especially as Pirlo is playing very inconsistently...if that works, we could have a gem...if not, Pirlo will start to play better cause of competition for his spot.

We really need a new coach so Pirlo/Seedorf know that there spots are not guaranteed!

For Seedorf, I think he is honestly done with Milan.

For Pirlo, I think we are not using the best of him.

Indeed, I believe Pirlo is restricted way too much. As a result he's only able to play long balls which are easily dealt with by an organized defense. However if he were allowed to roam, he'd be able to better use his playmaking ability. Besides, with his limited defensvie capabilities he would be better off a little further up the pitch where these frailties won't be exploited with dire consequences.

Tonight Bordeaux can potentially win Ligue 1, if that happens I'd think that we probably will find out what happens to Gourcuff.

IMo if Bordo win the league, Yoan will move from there, will he come back here or ask for a transfer thats a diff story...cuz i dont think he will have anything to play for in france anymore..

It's something we already discussed here ... most of you see this situation like "if they win, he will have nothing to play for anymore in France", but staying in Bordeaux allows him to keep his starting place in a team that will play for the Top 3 or the title next year in Ligue 1, a team that will be qualified for the next CL (even if they won't win it), so, if we make it clear, a team allowing him to keep his place in the French NT with a starting place during the World Cup as his personal objective ...

Because let's face it, guys like Nasri who were in the French NT before Gourcuff don't play that well in their new club. So by staying one more and last year in Bordeaux, he would probably secure his place for the next World Cup whereas in Milan, he could be back on the bench, who knows ?!

And to complete this post, in France, they say that Gourcuff is ok to stay one year in Bordeaux if they put an option allowing him to leave for 15M next year in his contract ... and from French medias, it would be the problem for moment in their negotiations: Bordeaux is ok to put such an option but not at this price as they would have no plus-value by selling him next year. So if Gourcuff is ok to put a 20-25M option in his contract instead of 15M, he will probably stay, and it looks like the title won or not by Bordeaux won't be the key in these negotiations (to make it clear one last time: Gourcuff wants Blanc, a qualification for CL and an option to leave, for moment, Bordeaux extended the contract of Laurent Blanc, and they are directly qualified for the CL, so it's not very good for us at this point and it's probably why Galliani said again we will welcome him next season as he is a Milan player !!).

Gourcuff rejects Rossoneri

Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff has declared his intention to stay at Bordeaux when his loan deal expires.

The 22-year-old signed for the Rossoneri from Rennes in 2006 and was touted as the new Zinedine Zidane.

But after struggling to find space at San Siro, Gourcuff was sent back to Ligue 1 to play for Bordeaux on loan.

Yoann has dazzled fans this season and won the Player of the Season award and it seems that he isn't keen to return to San Siro in the summer.

“I want to stay with Bordeaux,” he stressed emphatically. “Now it's just up to the directors to come to an agreement.”

The terms of the loan state that Bordeaux have the right to make the deal permanent, but they will need to find around £12m - a sum they are unlikely to meet.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has stressed that he hopes to see Gourcuff in the Diavolo shirt next term.
