Spalletti is waiting for a call off Milan before signing on as Zenit coach. But he couldn't take over until the end of the season because you cannot coach 2 teams in one season. But apparently he will work behind the scenes on transfer targets (what are they) .

Transfer targets that gets me thinking when Leo took over he must of said I really need a , b and c and either was told you can't have it , so he should said well thanks but il pass i cannot win with this team it needs serious rebuilding , or he was told yeah ofcourse whatever you need but was lied to so he should of resigned.

Now I know Milan are a huge club and an opportunity to manage an elite club doesn't come along aften , but if Leo gets fired after 7 games then he will find it hard to get another position as he will be deemed a failure no matter how bad he was let down in the mercato.

This is the only mark I have against Leo he appears to have no balls , he sits silently on the bench while Tassotti does all the screaming , and when he is on his feet he just stands there with his arms folded looking bewildered. Maybe Berlu is picking the team so Leo doesn't care IDK , but I honestly don't know what to think.

If B&G stop living in la la land they keep pointing to the 96 - 98 period that the club finished 10th and 11th and came back really strong to win many titles. The difference between now and then is as bad as those years were they tried , we bought Baggio , Reizeger , Bogarde , Davids , Kluivert , Weah had Simone , Savicevic , Boban , Maldini and so many others. We had a great great side that just didn't work out.

Nothing like what we have now I appreciate everything that this group has done but the look tired , would Real still be good if Zizou , Ronaldo , Figo , Beckham , Hierro and all that lot were still playing . Funnily enough two of those recently played for Milan.

According to milannews Leo wants guarantees of reinforcements for January. Apparently he wants 2 wingbacks and a forward. Names include Drenthe, Rafinha and Dzeko.

And what category would Drenthe fall under? Forward or wingback ? To me he's neither - he's a winger with limited defensive abilites.

Rafinha would be a great addition, and not impossible, even with our management. But Dzeko? Very good player, no doubt, but if we didn't get him in the summer, why would Wolfsburg sell him in the middle of the season? And he'd be cuptied anyway.

Don't see the point in getting another forward at all, unless that forward is Fabiano and it's some kind of swap deal. We have so many problems in the squad, but even though we're not scoring, the forwards is not one of them. If we really could get three players in the winter then it should be two fullbacks (Of which one of them should be able to play CB aswell preferably, like Criscito), and a midfielder with offensive qualities.

Btw, picking up Rafinha and Dzeko is impossible because they're both non-eu. So is Spaletti since he can't coach two teams. (Just pointing it out )

Edit: And congratulations on the Olympics to Brasileiro and everybody else from Brazil around here.

Thanks, Christian...
Iīm on the fence on this topic. It was great for Brazil, for Lula, but the president of Brazilīs olympic comittee(Nuzman) isnīt a confiable guy.

But what makes me sad was to read the comments on Spanish pappers. Canīt believe how people can be so racist and prejudiced. Unbelievble

Unbelievble also is to see the names of the coaches to replace Leo... A bunch of underachievers and imcompetents

I forgot - congrats for the Olimpics! I was really pleased the games went to Rio, it will be an unforgetable event for sure! 2014 WC in Brasil, and then 2016 Olimpics!! Its good for the economy as well as for the spirit of Brasil.

Now, would you say Spaletti is not competent enough to lead Milan?
Also, I dont think Leo is not capable of leading Milan. But to me, personally, it seems that he does lack a bit of experience and that ( and that is not his fault ) he also lacks time becouse he is asking this team to play something this team CANNOT do. To me that is the only mistake Leo is doing. He is asking for modern football from players that are not capable of that. Then the sistem that was asked simply fails, becouse the players adopt the game to their phisical powers ( Pirlo, Seedorf, Ambrosini, Inzaghi, our FB's.)

Leo has clear and good ideas, even makes brave changes and right moves on the subs in most of the cases. But those ideas are not for this squad unfortunately.

The question is: Does he need to adopt his tactical variations/plans to the players that carry his team a bit more??

I hope you understood what Im askiing my friend. Cheers from Croatia!

mercato:

I DO NOT want Rafinha on RB and Drenthe on the LB. Its unserious backline, too offensive.

Also, Dzeko again scored great header. Brasiliero, I know you say oftenly Dzeko is outplayed by Grafite on the field, and I saw that also. But there are players who simply score tons of goals despite being uotplayed by some of their own teammates ( Trezeguet). More I look at Dzeko more I see this man is seriousely capable of playing smart AND powerfull Cf football. What do you say?

About Dzeko, he might be a possibility as Veh suggested he could go for the right price. I doubt it's likely though.

This thread is aptly named, because if we didn't spend in the summer, regardless of the straits in which we find ourselves, I don't see how we are going to be able to find funds in January....

So, yes banter away guys, and let's hope and pray while we are at it, as unless Berlu discovers oil, or a money bearing tree at one of his villas, I don't think any purchases will be forthcoming.

or unless he sells a share to some businessman

Dzeko is catching form and is playing better and score more goals recently. We could have definitely used him instead of Boriello (and Huntelaar). I've also realized that the player that we exactly needed was Sneijder, he could have made a big difference in a season like this. He could have been the one who would save us and get us that last CL spot instead of being in a situation like this where I predict we will end 10-12th this season (unless something crazy happens).

Yes exactly Brasileiro and sheva-gila. Van Basten has proven that he's simply not good enough as a coach yet to take over Milan. When you hear from players from the Netherlands that they simply started to ignore what he said, then it's definetly not positive. Rijkaard just signed with a new club this summer, and Spaletti can't sign with us before next year, and in my opinion neither is what we need.

There's a lot of things wrong with this Milan team, and some of them weren't wrong last year. We've got two red cards in six games, which clearly points towards a lack of disciplin. Also in the Inter match in particular, the players were running around completly disorganised. It could be down to Leonardo, but honostly I think more importantly that it's down to Maldini NOT being there. People have to remember that this is the first time in 50 years or something that Milan doesn't have an obvious captain. I think Ambrosini does bring a certain leadership to the team, and when he's on the pitch the team does seem more organised but the fact that he's not a given starter is a problem, and also the fact that he himself tends to get to many cards is a problem.

Also I read alot of people complaining that the players don't try enough. I say I don't really agree with that. I think there's been good examples of the team really playing their heart out this season, more so than we've seen under Ancelotti. Against Marseille for instance, the team really ran as much as they could. And even against the smaller teams where we underachieved, I don't think the problem was the lack of effort. There were simply to many poor ball players on the pitch for us to get the game going as we want it to. Even against Zurich we ran more KM than they did, according to the stat's, ofcourse it's not that impressive, but when you think about the age of our players then I think it's fair.

All in all, I think it's obvious that when we ask a player like Seedorf who's 33, like Inzaghi or like Ambrosini to play 2 games a week, then it's not gonna work, and it might even look like they're not trying. Really what we needed was about 4 times as much transfer money as we got, and that's the real problem.

I think it is a bit sad that some of us are suggesting Cahill and Bent. Not saying they are bad players but they ain't superstars. And it also shows the quality of players MIlan currently have.

Luis Suarez of Ajax, the uruguayan. Two new goals for Ajax today against Roda, 12 goals in 9 games until now. I know the dutch league isn't that good, but he's still only 22 years old and a great talent.
