lol you calling the other fans ignorant oh my god are you sane do you how much it will cost Milan later on to buy the players that can get us trophies. So what do you think it is more sustainable to buy a whole bunch of 30 year who demand 4 million euros a season and are only brought because they have relatively low transfer fees. Milan cheapness is the cause for the club financial woes we already spend in excess of 40 million euros in wage of 30 year old we rarely use plus of course slowdorf. Milan need to spend big to revolutionise the team we can't afford not with the wages that Kaladze Seedorf Oddo Zambrotta Jankulovski and Ronaldinho demand, example- Oddo demanding 4 million euros a season cissokho demands 1 million euros a season another example shevchenko demands roughly 7 million at chelsea dzeko would have demanded 3 million euros a season and to complete my point dida demands roughly 5 millions euros a season Merchatti wants only 1 maybe 2 million euros a season.
Actually the world financail crisis will affect Milan revenues by 0.5% at the most the current disguised over kaka transfer is having quantitative affect on Milan finances the only issue is the parent company who owns Milan is struggling financially because of the crisis hence why we sold kaka. Most organisations ignore the huge amounts of debt they compile as long as the companies are able to service the debt than it is conceivable to take out vast loans. All Football clubs of a similar size have compile vast amounts of debt inter arsenal liverpool valencia are all several hundreds of millions in the red. You do need to spend 50 million euros a season to remain competitive that what our rivals spend that the figure that fiorentina have began spending, if milan don't spend at least 50 million euros each season you have to assume that we are going to lose our champions league spot. 50 million isn't comparable to the 200 million euros a team can expect to gain from winning the champions league final even if a team doesn't make it past the group they are still expected to make at least 40 million euros out of the competition. I could understand some elements if Milan youth academy was producing a large amount of quality the best academy has offered so far is Di gennaro Albertazzi and Abate good players in their own right not on the level of costacurta albertini and maldini Last edited by johncharles365; 06-07-2009 at 16:55. |

And up until the 2007-08 season, Milan finished high enough in the league to return to the Champions League every season. And even after that one slip-up, they were good enough (with pretty much the same team they have now) to tie Juventus for second and get back to the Champions League. It surely would have been nice to win a couple more Scudetti (and that probably would have happened had Juve not been cheating out their ass), but I'd hardly call what Milan accomplished "dismal." Even if it were Milan and not Real Madrid who was spending like a drunken sailor -- even if Milan had not only kept Kaka, but bought Ronaldo, Benzema, David Villa, Ribery, Daniel Alves, John Terry, Torres, Buffon, Essien and half a dozen other big name stars -- it would still take a year to win the Champions League or the Scudetto. And it would still take luck, no matter how good Milan looked on paper. Do you think all the other teams are going to roll over and give Real Madrid the Champions League just because they were impressed with what their money bought? I don't. Quote:

And sure, fans have a wonderful track record on signings. Milan fans danced in the streets over signing Gilardino. Fans clamored for Oddo. They demanded that Jankulovski get more playing time! So fans on message boards hardly have a stellar record when it comes to transfers, so what qualifies any of us to be a better judge of talent than Leonardo? And please name all the "top priority" signings of players over 34 that Milan has made in the past five years. Quote:
And you really have a lot of trouble with simple math. Milan won the Champions League in 2007. 2009 minus 2007 equals two -- not three! Quote:

You know, in all honesty I have thought about Elano. He reminds me of Seedorf, in that he is halfway a central midfielder, halfway an attacking midfielder.
He seems to also have a pretty good engine and workrate, but I think what scares off potential buyers is first: he's with Man City (who have tons of money, as we all know) and that it seems he is in talks with Inter. When it comes to midfielders, I just wonder, how much did Napoli pay for Cigarini? He has impressed me the last year, and I think he would be a great player in the future. When Mourinho was asked about Serie A, he said that the top three were weaker than England, but that from there on, the teams in Serie A are far stronger. Looking at the sort of talent that is at the disposal of teams outside of Milan, Inter, Juve, and Roma, you would be astonished not to see them at bigger sides. I think there are two players from relegated sides that Milan should seriously consider: Andrea Esposito from Lecce and Torino's Rosina. Rosina should not be a starter, but he would be a useful player, and cheap. Esposito has been rather impressive, especially considering which players he is lining up with. Watching Leonardo's first real press conference, it seems that Nesta is really being relied upon. It seems that the management isn't going after any real CBs, because they are truly looking at Nesta as someone to carry Milan next season. Obviously Thiago Silva is the other half of that pairing, but it's clear that three parts of our back four will be Zambro-Nesta-Thiago Silva- whether Zambro shifts left for Oddo, or Janku, or Crisicto/Cissoko takes that last spot, I do'nt know. Bonera was also the first name he mentioned, when speaking about CBs, so I think Leonardo is also trusting Bonera. I mean, he just got a contrast extension, so it seems pretty obvious he'll be relied upon. One thing to mention, it seems that Abbiati is actually in training with the squad. I mean, the pictures on Milan's site is small, but it seems that he has suited up and was part of the squad. |

This is my favourite quotation from Galliani today (and boy was there competition):
"Inter have lost important players like Cruz and Crespo and have bought Milito and Thiago Motta, I don't know if they are stronger." |

Yes, I was exaggerating a bit on certain aspects of my post, all to prove a point: We are neither capable of winning neither the league nor the Champiions League convincingly with what we have currently, and should we have to wait another 4 to 5 years after already having waited about that same amount of time already for our last cycle to start up, then I completely understand why the fans are rioting at the training grounds. The fans are not convinced by what management has been doing, period. Where in my post do you see me say anything about "buying players now"? I simply stated my doubt that any players signed this mercato would make an immediate impact. My point is about taking another 5 years to rebuild to a respectably competitive squad basing on your little post about our 2000 and 2002 mercato. Plus, we actually spent money on Nesta, and as I said, with Berlu tightening our purse strings, I don't see the same thing happening all over again. Yes, I won't be satisfied with just 3 major trophies. The Champions League isn't something to win every year, I know that as much as the next guy that it takes luck as well as skill. But what about the league? You get a chance at that every single year. Are you implying that we should become a team like Liverpool? That we should be satisfied with finishing in the CL spots every season whilst all your closest rivals get the prestige of actually winning the League? If a decent cup run and a 2nd or 3rd in the League is enough to satisfy you each year, well then I say you're quite easy to satisfy. I would at least expect a challenge for the league every single season for a club of our size and stature, yet how many Februarys or Marches have we come across in the past 10 years where we've been playing for nothing except 4th or 3rd? The Club that won the CL in two years you say, but you fail to mention all the finances that Berlu poured into the club during those few years. I don't see any of that happening now, which is why I don't see the same things happening in our rebuilding process, and why I'm convinced that we won't be able to win anything major in the next few years, not unless management starts acting like an actual management. The market isn't like it used to be, top talent will be willing to come to the club, but they can just as easily be sold to another club if we can't meet their selling prices. Negotiating for the best price would be alright if we were the only ones on the market to buy, but I think you'll notice that this isn't exactly the case. We compete for top players with other top clubs, and playing our hardball tactics to sign at the "right price" can only go so far. As I mentioned at the start of my post, where the hell do you get the notion I said anything about panic buys? I'm just refuting your claims that we'll be able to do what we did in 2000 due to most of the factors working against us, thats all. Stop putting words in my mouth and read through the entire post, Ricky. As much as I like my fellow fans, to falsely accuse others of saying something is not something I tolerate. |

Like it's such a poor excuse, that you can see Berlusconi's guilt, such a poor excuse, it's incredible he would even say something that stupid. Cruz and Crespo have played what probably 20mins combined this season? Absolutely Stupid. When did Galliani say we made an official bid for Huntelaar? Link? |

But by being impatient and always moaning and groaning because Milan hasn't already signed the players they need, you're calling for exactly that. What do you think it would be if Milan just hurried to buy whatever player is available at whatever price they have to pay? Where I come from, that's called a panic buy. I would be much happier if Milan took the time to identify the players they really want and then negotiate for the best price possible to purchase them. You want Milan to hurry up and get it over with just to sooth your own fears.

Yet we are still worried about Inter, and talk about them and their transfers, thats fear. Galliani should shut up and the bussines and not worry what Inter does.

I think he means the ones that were rejected. He may just be lying.
