It's just plain difficult to find someone with the calibre of Kaka` et al., and for those who don't have such skills, they usually lack self-discipline (unlike Brocchi). |

Well, Barca wont have any issues selling Ronaldinho, after Messi´s wonderstrike in the Kings Cup yesterday....a fantastic goal, which I have posted the youtube link in the General Football section, in its own thread....a goal of that calibre deserves its own website, much less a new thread!!
Were I Barca, I would sell Ronnie immediately, Messi can replace him, and actually be better than he can... All I can say is: Maybe we should be going after Messi? ![]()

Ok, i have a feeling i already wrote this. Or maybe i was just thinking about it but didn't write it here.
If i did , sorry : You know guys, one friend of mine was writing an article about "Berlusconism". Be angry at me ( at him actually) if you want but mr. Berlusconi is extremely corrupt and dangerous, in terms of state economy (we've all seen what he did to Italy during his mandate), judicial and law system. But when it comes to football, then he is numero uno. His money, his will and his passion for football brought so much to football fans world wide. Silvio Berlusconi is 70 if i'm not wrong. Tricky age ! I started thinking about death in my 30's and i bet my right hand he also thinks about it sometimes, now more than ever after he went "sleeping" few months ago. What would you do if you're 70, knowing tomorrow may be your last day, if you have so many billions and if you love and own AC Milan ? Try to get the best in the world and win every single trophy there is to be won ? I know i'd do it and i think Berlu will try to do it. He'll try to get Dinho and i think he'll get Dinho. He'll go for Zambrotta, Buffon or every other player who'll make Milan to be the same Milan from late 80's and early 90's. This summer will be the last summer in Berlu era when Milan will spend huge money on the market, imo ! Milan will by 3-4 world class players ( no Buffon included ), i'm convinced about that. Will Milan win as much as in the past, i dunno, but i'm sure Berlu will pay even 200 000 000 if needed.

Ze Roberto is a player who could add a lot of versatility in midfield - can play Seedorf, Pirlo and kaka role pretty well - or players like Diego, Van der Vaart, etc or even Bodmer (Lille) are anything but impossible options ... again, the point in all this isnot to find another Pirlo or Kaka as now that is indeed an assumption but simply good enough players who could provide viable alternatives to the coach in replacing those two in the system ... and for that we won't hae to break the bank. If we can get Zambrotta, he would also solve anumber of issues in defense for us given his versatility ... true, he is a big name, a world class player but chances are, with his season in Spain and all the problems he's had there, he would be more than readily available in the summer ... not to mention that he's been very fond of Milan in his interviews .All in all, there is no need to add 5-6 world class players to Milan as this would indeed be a shot in the dark given that they are not necessarily in abundance out there and that most of them would simply not be available. Instead, I think we would be perfectly fine with theaddition of 1-3 such players - one of them Zambrotta should not be hard to get - and 2-3 very good players, who should give more width to this team in terms of quality and not just quantity so that we don't have to overplay players like Kaka and Pirlo now ... of these there are plenty out there and all Milan needs to do is pick the right ones.

![]() Edit : The only sure thing for now is Milan to offer money for Ronaldinho. All the rest ( Buffon, Gallas, Zambrotta, Alex, Trez etc) is pure speculation for now. Milan may go for them, they may even get them, but at this point ( by "at this point" i mean the month of April when many things are't clear yet) it's more of a journalist's assumption then a real interest !

![]() The same news about Keita have however appeared in tgcom too (as well as sportalice above) and Zambrotta being linked to Milan is hardly news to anyone given his own words of affection for Milan and other rumours in tgcom and gazzetta too (that interview of his saying he wants to play for Milan should he come back to Italy was in gazzetta, actually). Similarly the Buffon rumours - all over the press there are words of affection between Milan and Buffon ... the recent surge in these rumours, however, was spurred by Amelia visiting a Turin hospital for a check up on his knee in the company of a Juventus medical staff member. Given the clues Milan on one side and Zambrotta and Buffon have "innocently dropped" in the press recently, I personally doubt we need a journalist's article to tell us that there is a mutual attraction between the two sides and once that is there, anything can happen ![]() IMO, Milan's interest in these two is as speculative as Silvio's interest in Dinho As for Alex, Carlo saying in a gazzetta interview that he considers Alex the best CD in circulation and Galliani shwoing admiration for Alex as back as the Milan-PSV ties over the past 2 years is, I think, more than enough to make a roumour something more than just a speculation. Gallas, I agree that no one from Milan has mentioned/associated his name with Milan NOW, although last year he was on Milan's list - Galliani spoke some nice things about him and how well suited Franch players are to Serie A - and chances are only calciopoli stopped us from getting him or at least going for him more seriously. The chances of Gallas leaving Arsenal, however, are not a far-fetched story with Arsenal's rather average season and the recent changes that have taken place there - David Dein, the VP who brought Wenger at Arsenal and is one of the "pillars" of the Arsenal team of the past 10 years has resigned and there are strong rumours that an US billionaire - Kroenke or whoever - is about to make a bid for the club and Wenger's future at Arsenal is everything but secure. All in all, these are all names that have had some common history with Milan either over the past several weeks/months or or have attracted interest in past seasons, so seeing that some of them are well on the "move" naturally means that they would be persons of interest for Milan. A pure speculation I would call a rumour about Milan being after Riquelme or Rosicky or someone else who has not been on Milan's radar for a while and no Milan offical has recently associated their name with a possible move to the club or something of the kind.

Sure, you named 5 players that could come to Milan ( with Dinho it makes 6 players) , and you can add at least 3-4 world class players that could go to Milan.
And you can find logical explanation why would they do so. But every single transfer window and pre-mercato speculations should have thought you by now how not even 5% of what the papers say happens ! Can Keita and Alex both sign for Milan ? Will Barcelona sell two of it's best 5 players to Milan ? Will Juve ( Juve's management declared yesterday how they won't let Buffon go. They are stupid for saying this, imo. It's like blackmailing him) sell their pearl to their rivals ? And look at how do they create their articles ! Buffon saying he does miss CL and in the next 20 days we have bunch of articles how he's Milan's player and another bunch saying he's so close to Inter. Huntelaar's "agent" says the deal between Hunter and Juve is done and we have around 100 articles about that, just so at the end it turns out this guy isn't Huntelaar's agent at all. Zebina signed for Milan !!! Camoranesi leaving Juve for sure because he's angry at them for not letting him go last summer - now we have Camoranesi staying for sure and signing new contract. Zambrotta said he likes Milan. He said it last year. If Zambrotta won't sign for Milan this summer i bet we'll have the same articles saying he's close to Milan next year, and the year after, and the year after..... until he retires. I said earlier how i'm sure Berlusconi will spend a lot this summer. But we're in April still. Wait a little. Someone may extend his contract, someone may get a better offer and someone that wasn't conected to Milan at all may sign with you in June. Until then i won't believe the journalists who are taking words out of context or are making an elephant out of a fly.

When it comes to representing REAL interest for Milan, I put Buffon, Zambrotta, Dinho right at the top of any list of players ... and I don't say this just because some scribbler said so but based on what Carlo, Galliani, Silvio and the players themselves have said recently and all those "innocent" comments. I understand that as a Juve fan it bugs you about Buffon and Zambrotta and possibly Cannavaro too being linked with Milan but ... Quote:
Still, Keita could be bought an loaned out to another Serie A team and possibly gotten back in the winter transfer period - something similar to how Inter got Maxwell from Ajax in the same year they bought Maicon too. Also, there are several alternatives to Keita, with EU passports albeit more expensive, so I wouldn't necessarily exclude Keita being just an option for Milan for this particular type of player - a winger with skills to play support striker too - they might be after and not Keita being the "only" such player Milan would go for ... other similar players are Mancini, Quaresma, Simao, Giuly, and probably several others. Quote:
Selling Dinho would only mean good business for Barca ... the guy is over his top at that club - maybe moving to a new club will help him rediscover his form, maybe not but IMO his Barca career will only go downhill from now on and thus his market value will plummet .... so, I believe it's in Barca interest to sell him now, this summer, and this will only be a great deal for them ... do not think that the same would be necessarily true for the club that buys him, though And let's not forget the Messi factor here, whose maturing and coming onto the big scene at merely 19-20 years-old gives Barca nothing but assurances of a great future for the club even without Dinho, who now with messi in the picture, seems more and more of a "potential goldmine". Zambrotta is a 30-31 yo player who did not live up to the expectations and seems to be finding it difficult to adjust to La Liga and life in Spain in general ... even more difficult seems to be for his wife (in his words), though ![]() And Barca's links with Abidal and his words of admiration for Barca and La Liga, as well as their perennial interest in Alves don't exactly cement Zambrotta's future at the club. Barca may very wisely decide to cash in on this 30 yo player and get some of the money they spent for him last year and invest it younger players, who aren't homesick. Given all this, I really don't see any question marks over Zambrotta's future - for me, he is already on his way back to Italy, whether it will be at Milan or not, we'll see. Quote:
Next year, when Juve would PRESUMABLY get into CL - something there is nothing to be sure about - Nedved will be 37 and DP 35 with a whole lot of other average players to be replaced ... not exactly a recipe for immediate success in CL ... and Buffon knows that, hence his doubts about his future. Why Milan? Why not? That didn't stop them from selling Zlatan and Vieira to Inter, did it? All in all, business is business and money don't smell and there will be a lot of these involved in a deal like this. Also, the player's wishes are not to be forgotten too - Buffon likes milan and Milan likes Buffon, and I am not sure the same could be said about Inter ... no secrets here as he's made it clear not once or twice. there is hardly a point in keeping an unhappy player in your team when you could sell him and build close to a whole CL-quality squad with the money, hence those words from the Juve president or whatever - "Buffon will stay but only if he wants to" or something of the kind. Anyways, we are again digressing here - the initial argument was not whether Buffon will come to Milan and how realistic the chances of that happening are but whether the interest from Milan is REAL or just the product of another journalist earning his living ![]() The same goes for those other rumours you mentioned - the point was not whetehr the move will materialize but whether there is a REAL connection/attarction between the two sides involved.

Noone will stop us next year, buahahaha!!!!Just kidding... Im sure Milan ( Berlusconi ) has the power to make Ronaldinho transfer happen if he wants to. Zambrotta, Alex, Buffon, and so on.... they are all on Galliani's list im sure, but we'll just have to wait anUntill the summer d see what will Braida and Galliani do about it.

I dont want Ronaldinho to come, but strangely enough I have a feeling we will not end up signing up this summer. I dont know, it simply is not in Milan's DNA to splash out that much. I think there's more to the story than what we are just seeing, maybe they are just tryin to get Ronaldinho to renew his contract for a higher salary - but still i can't see what is coming to us in return (maybe Oliveira's acceptance to join Milan last year? lol i dont know).
Zambrotta hmm I dont know I'd think there's a 20% chance he would come. I'd say if he comes back to Italy he'd go to Juve even though he likes Milan more. Buffon, a dream for every one, has been saying recently that he's not sure if he's staying or not and he does miss CL football. I thought we would be tryin to get him but now after Dida's renewal I dont know. Maybe Dida only renewed as a bargaining chip to be used with Juve or Barca. I also like the player Keita, I'd rather him over Oliveira as a fourth stirker. I wish we can get Pato, Alex and Alves. These are players that are within our reach and will most definitely help the squad next year. A couple of more experienced defenders for next yr, and a Pirlo replacement (Juninho??) and someone to put Kaka in a bench (bring back Rui!) |
