Nice logic...so no striker from abroad is better than Borriello then...nor Paloschi who has scored two goals in Serie A...more than Eto'o, Adebayor, Ronaldinho and Pele and put together.

I do not think Huntelaar is good enough for the Serie A. Afterall, scoring in the Serie A is a lot more difficult than any other league because of the defensive nature of teams and the high number of quality goalkeepers.
I'm 180% certain a couple weeks ago you said you hadn't seen enough of Huntelaar to form an opinion. Now you know enough to say he's wasteful? Please Huntelaar has a great scoring record...NOT ONLY IN THE DUTCH LEAGUE. He has a great record in U-21, Uefa Cup AND Dutch NT.

104 goals in 137 Games in Dutch League.
18 goals in 22 games for Dutch U-21
16 goals in 19 Uefa Cup games
7 goals in 12 games for Dutch NT.

Borriello has...?

Adebayor:
AC Milan and Barcelona are both hot on Adebayor’s heels, and it believed they would have to pay over ₤30million to snare their man.

Barca have taken the biggest strides so far, having sent officials to London recently to open negotiations.

It was originally thought the former Monaco man would prefer a move to San Siro to link up with ex-Gunner Mathieu Flamini, but he hinted that Camp Nou in fact holds the greater attraction.

“Milan are a big club but the fact they are not playing in the Champions League next season is less of a challenge,” Adebayor said.

“Barcelona have made a good financial offer. Yes, I am still under contract to Arsenal but it’s up to the directors to satisfy my demands. Otherwise, I’ll leave.

“You have to take advantage of the moment. Why not go to Barcelona if the manager there already has me in his plans? That means there is a big chance of seeing me there.”

It's from goal.com, they took it from News of the World. This is only the part about Milan.

The difference here is I'm not comparing Borriello to Huntelaar. Learn that.

I'm comparing Adebayor to Huntelaar. The Dutch league is not in any way comparable to the Serie A or the EPL for that matter. I'm not convinced by him. Ajax has done what recently? What have they won?

I'm not saying Borriello is great. He's a good back-up striker... and this is exactly why we need Adebayor. A true world class striker, something Huntelaar is not because he's NOT playing in a world class league.

I'm sure he understands that Milan can easily get back into the CL, and they have most of their energy focused on domestic tournaments. Milan has Adebayor in his plans, Barcelona is just a place where talent wastes away.

In particular Arsenal talent does not do well in Barcelona (Henry).

I know the Dutch League isn't all that. That's why I posted the rest of his stats for you to see. He also has 2 goals in 4 CL games.

P.S. We took MvB straight from Ajax to Milan...Ronaldo went from PSV straight to Barcelona...we should let Man U snatch Huntelaar before we see he's quality ?

Forget Huntelaar. I'm in favor of a proven striker right now. I'm all about results right now. Not waiting. And I think Arsenal could get him (if we take Adebayor). We should focus on Adebayor.

In reality, I would have preferred Eto'o, because that guy is more proven than either Huntelaar or Adebayor. That's the guy that struck the goal that equalised for Barcelona in a CL final, which they eventually won.

I'd rather have Huntelaar than either Drogba (too old) and Adebayor (technically, just not good enough). Adebayor seems to have the same problem as boriello, he's only good when he's wide open and/or against weak teams.

No one double teams people on Genoa so Boriello scores goals. When people close down against Milan, Boriello will shrivel up again. Adebayor scored most of his goals against weak teams and had long stretches of disappointing performances.

Huntelaar may not play in the best league, but he has skills and continues to score consistently. He's young, talented, plays smart, tall, and can develop further. I cannot say that about Adebayor except for maybe the tall part.

Disappointly, someone posted the same thing you said and applied it to Torres a few years ago. Why Milan didn't take that risk either, I'll never know. Abbiati could have been part of the deal.

IMHO, Adebayor is just a smokescreen. I don't think Milan will really go through with it. They want Ronaldinho (who also wants Milan) but they need the price to drop. Personally, I'd rather not go with Ronaldinho either, but we're talking about Berlu's wishes, not mine.

Rather he scored against many high ranking teams... And I can't agree with you about Borriello. I'm willing to give the guy a chance. Sure he won't be like Inzaghi, but I'm willing to give him the chance.

And Adebayor scored against many large teams... ti was only Arsenal's inexperience defense that let him down.

Adebayor is young too. I mean aren't they the same age? Adebayor can develop further too... sheesh... he's only 24 years old. If you were talking about drogba you'd have valid points.

Huntelaar is 6'1" and Adebayor is 6'3". Adebayor is a bit taller and the more physical presence that we need. Huntelaar looks a bit fragile to me...

When Huntelaar goes to Roma, or Juventus, or Manu or Madrid or wherever he goes and scores over 20, then yall gonna be to ones to say, i told Galliani to get him, and all sorts of B.S. ESPECIALLY if he goes to an Italian team and scores on us.

Look @ RVN, he was also a great player in Dutch league, they went to Manu, and was there best striker, then is @ Madrid and is there best striker.

No I'll stand by it. I don't think Huntelaar will find much success outside of the Dutch league. And I think we need results now.

yall prolly gonna fight me out, but i dont think goal scoring is that big of a problem. its more defending.

Here are the stats.

TEAM GS GA

Inter 69 26
Roma 72 37
JUVE 72 37
VIOLA 55 39
Milan 66 38

so we were there in scoring, but we allowed to many goals.

though most scoring was done in bunches like 5 and 4

Our defensive record was similar to the top 4... with the exception of Inter. We had quite a few 1-0 wins in the 2nd part of the season...

RVN isn't the only one either. A dozen others have gone down the same path including Zlatan and Sneijder more recently (even though latter is a midfielder). Huntelaar is our chance to spend a little less than the 30 million pounds we are being asked to pay for Adebayor or Eto'o and get a guy who will be our top marksman for many years to come.

But who am I to make such recommendations...
