As far as I know we are going to sign Diego Lugano over the summer, but apparently no one has even mentioned him...

i wish seedorf stays at milan 4 ever he is a really good player ... and it will be a big loss i mean hes much better than our other midfielder and well i just can imagine him in another jersey ...

i can still remember when he was crying when Milan won cl in 2003 ...

that always makes me happy ... Forza Seedorf ... Forza Meelan

The 2 defensive buys shouldnt cost all that much, around £12m for the pair. As for Diarra, if we can get him for £20m i think Berlu would be happy to sanction it. Spending £30m on 3 top players to keep the club in contention for the major honours isnt unreasonable, especially with the defence as it is.

Also, for the anti-Gerrards http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...akes+PFA+prize
i like the lineup though i would switch diarra and pirlos positions...

i would also play gallas on the left, kala in the center and oddo at RB instead of rodriguez

same here, although I am leaning towards Rebeilliere for the RB position. Anyway, it's official now - Cafu has extended his contract with us till 2007 and will NOT be leaving this summer. So, we might end up not getting any new RB unless Simic leaves. With Stam gone and Billy and Maldini not exactly being in their best physical condition, not getting Oddo/Rveilliere + Gallas would be a mistake given our issues on the right this season but I guess we'll see what happens over the summer.

I suppose depending on the opposition they are interchangable. I like the idea of having Diarra as an extra wall in front of the defence as it would give the 3 more creative midfielders plentry of security to go forward, but there would no doubt still be a need in many games for Pirlo to collect the ball fom deeper..

i think pirlos best position is infront of the defence, on form hes a gem there... but gattuso has been having an inconsistent 2 years and i think if diarra is here, pirlo should be on form more often.

i agree with zlat, even if cafu extended, not going for another RB is a big mistake IMO, we cant afford to risk it again, what if cafu doesnt make it next season?

Reveillere for Milan, that's what i think.

I think Gattuso gets some unfair criticism at times, i'm not saying he doesn't deserve it because some of his performances have been poor ..... however, sometimes he has to do the defensive duty of Pirlo and Seedorf. In the Lyon game for example he spent more time on the left than the right, mopping up after our other mids ...

for me personally, i would change things up a bit next season, i would go for either 4-2-2-2- (like Brazil play) or 4-2-3-1. I just think we need some width in our game now, we need to refresh our style a bit. I would like to see:

--------------------------Gilardino/Inzaghi----------------

------Jankulovski/?????------Shevchenko------Kaka/Mancini

-------------------Diarra/Pirlo------Gattuso/????----------

Serginho/Pasqual---Gallas/Barzagli---Nesta---Reveillere/Cafu

Obviously i'm not saying we'd buy all those players, but i just think it's time for a change.

Milan will use the same system next year they said.. I always wished for a 3man defence with the sort of defence we had.

i disagree, sheva should be played in attack and not in that position, his dribbling isnt amazing, its normal and that position needs a dribbler, and seedorf should be in the lineup, hes been great this season.

i dont think diarra and gattuso should be played in the same lineup, true diarra can start plays but nothing near as good as pirlo and in our prime people were bashing gattuso's inability to attack, either gattuso is taken out and diarra and pirlo play side by side, or maybe janku takes seedorfs position who takes gattuso's and played next to diarra.

I think we do not need drastic changes in tactics next season, we just need several new players to be added, like barzagli oddo galas diarra and Giuseppe Rossi I just love how this kid plays!!, and also may be one keeper?, in case Dida continius to worthen.

----------------------------------Dida--------------------------------------------

----Oddo/Cafu---------Kaladze/Barzagli--------Nesta/Maldini ---------Gallas/Serghino
----------------------------------Pirlo/Vogel---------------------------------------
--------------- Gattuso/Diarra ----------------------Zeedorf----------------------
------------------------------kaka/G.Rossi---------------------------------
-----------------Shevchenko/Inzaghi----------------Gilardino/Amoroso-----------------------

Pirlo is a kind of player that needs to be guarded by 2 players in front of him, than he can work his passes around. Right now Rino is doing his job just fine, but Seedorf is playing bad defensively, he is the one who needs to be replaced by a player like Lampard/Gerrard/joaquim class. I love seedorf and respect him very much, but his power is running out. so my lineup.............
..............................dida.........................
...gallas.....nesta......maldini....jankulovski
........................diarra/pirlo..........
.........joaquim...................diarra/gattuso
.........................kaka...............
...................sheva......pippo/gila

we need 45-50 mil for this dream team. 20-diarra, 20-joaquim, 5-gallas

you dont think we need drastic changes then u mention 6 players?

what we really need IMO:
- oddo/revelliere (or any good RB)
- Gallas
- Diarra (i think we do NEED him, but i doubt many would agree)

extras that wouldnt hurt (except financially):
- 4th striker like vucinic/tavano
- Alex
- rui costa replacement if he leaves, sneijder?
- right winger like mancini/camoranesi

i dont understand, u say seedorf should be replaced because hes not doing his job defensivly then u replace him by joaquin? how is that going to solve the defensive problem ur refering to?

I meant drastic changes in tactical lineup not about players

I agree. Joaquin is notorious about how bad defensively he is - he is just too lazy to fall back and defend as a right winger let alone put him in Rinho's position. Not only will not putting him in place of Seedorf solve our "supposed" defensive frailties, on the contrary, our right mid will look like Swiss chease.
Seedorf might not have the pace of Juaqi but defensively there is hardly any basis for comparison, IMO.
