Yes Sheva scored some really important goals for Milan. A couple last season, maybe a few the year before that, maybe 1 the year before that. If you catch the drift he spent many years at Milan to have the reputation he now has. Gila has been here little over a year and and is going through a bad patch. Itslike comparing Gourcuff to Savisavich or Bonera to Costacurta.

All I can say is give him til the end of the season, and if he still isnt scoring then round together your little lynch mob and deal with him. But at least give him til the end of the season. Afterall, he wasnt too bad last season. And before you protest that hes had too long, just remind your self you are stuck with poor old Albert anyway.
Honestly, I dont remember Sheva ever having such a long period of not scoring ANY goals. So its not about time and reputation. About giving Gila time till the end of the season: I m not the one who decides how long he ll stay in Milan. I dont believe in Gila, and I didnt believe in him much from the start. I dont see in him Milan quality striker. It might be just my opinion, but it ll not change, unless I m horribly wrong and Gila ll start scoring 1 - 2 goals each game starting from next saturday.

Strikers like $heva dont grow on trees though, the guy is a freak. He runs, dribbles and doesnt stop scoring. Gila isnt that type of player.

Anyway, just as Milan bought Papin to be a sub for VB and ended up becoming a legend in his own right it is possible for Gila. Until the day he leaves, I will support him.

You show me Etoo and I will show you a strike partnership made in heaven.

Sheva did; the season when he was out injured for a long time. That's the year when Milan actually won the CL.

I'm waiting to hear from you (i.e., Gila critics) how you would trust Oliveria as a "Milan quality" striker more than Gila.

Fair enough, that is your choice. I actually believe more in Oliveira. Hope he ll get a chance to open up his talent. Otherwise, it was a big mistake to give him number 7.

Disagree. Did you expect Sheva or Gila not to score the first season they join Milan? As far as I am concerned, I expect BOTH to score the first season when they join. That's REAL Milan quality.

OK that was because of injury - but Gila is 100% healthy. So its irrelivant comparison.
I dont trust Oliveira - I believe in him, because he havent proven me that he is a bad player yet, same as he haven t proven that he is a good one too. Gila have shown me all already. Suh a long period, starting almost every game he hasnt scored any goals. That is enough for me to have an opinion, and distrust him. Dont you think?

Actually, Milan never made the idiotic decision of buying a striekr who has been out with knee ligament injury before. That why I dont expect anything yet. e may be Milan quality, but I doubt hes ready to show it yet. Have you not wondered why this pacey striker hasnt really started stretching his legs and sprinting yet. He doesnt want to damage anything.

I beg to differ. I don't know if you were around when Sheva was out injured for a long time (I'm talking about the year we won CL). People were literally BLASTING Sheva. I'm not kidding. I'm not sure if there were archives, but go and check it out if you want. People scolded him for not scoring a 1-on-1 with Toldo during the first league of CL semi-final against Inter, and so many people said that he should be on the bench. SO MANY... it's overwhelming at that time; there were a few who defended him but, as usual, nobody cared.

Your opinion, unfortunately, is built on a time when Milan was having difficulty in general, not just in attack but also in terms of motivational and psychological issues. If, for example, Milan is playing really well but Gila still didn't score, then he is indeed in real trouble. This is the case, for example, for Ibra in Juventus last year.

Finally, I'm not sure if you have watched the game today; but Inzaghi did as nothing as Gila at this stage of time. Judging Gila every single game like this is not only disastrous but also unfair. At the end, the team gotta take the blame.

Ok, I'm offering a solution. There is no point in discussing him right now, as reasons stated above. Milan is not playing great at the moment, and it's pointless to blame anyone at this stage of time. The team gotta take the blame.

Let's pause and judge later, say in Christmas. If MIlan revived but not Gila, then your argument will surely be strengthened.

I do remember that year when we won the CL. I wasnt with the forum at the time, but I ve never blamed Sheva. He had a bad injury and needed time to get into the game. Not scoring once or several times after the injury is understandable. But not scoring for monthes, being in great physical condition is not understandable. Sheva scored even when the whole team played ****. So I take off my hat infront of this guy. He was great.
I watched todays match, and if you look at the whole disscussion, you ll see my post, where I wrote an opinion about the whole match...critisizing Inzaghi, Kaladze, Nesta, Seedorf etc...And only after that I ve started having a conversation with guys about Gila.

I don't know about that, then. I never went to San Siro and kept a keen eye on him every second.

I m tired of people constantly trying to find reasons and explanations of Gila "0-goal period"", and giving more time to him. I think he had enough time, and my judgement is a fair one. You guys can wait as long as you wish...

When Gila is played properly.. i.e. with a proper support striker..not a fellow goal poacher I'll start to judge him. But for now playing two point men definitely isn't working to Milan's OR Gilardino's benefit. If Oli-Gila is used a bit frequently.. maybe we'll see a new Gilardino. Or if we buy a support striker in January.

Ok. The reason I propose a solution is that I, and many other members here, am just getting tired of people saying the same thing again and again and again.

Jeff, I agree with you on several levels. yeah, it is boring to have us saying the same things over and over again. problem is, if you can see the games, it's the same problems we're seeing...over and over again and no move is made to correct the problem.

Yes, the team needs to take the blame. So does the coach. here's what's fruistrating me--every other team that goes thru or is going thru a tough patch is giving their coaches ultimatums. Even Inter did to Mancini--4 games to prove yourself. Milan has been real good at doing that to coaches in the past, could it possibly be time to revert to those tactics?? Something's gotta give, b/c halfway thru the season is kind of late to correct major problems and make up points. Just a thought....
