I would say a mixture of inconsistency and the fact that he testified against Moggi during Calciopoli, the latter certainly explains why Lippi hasn't called him up for the Azzurri.

given the way the season started, i'm sure none of us was expecting to go so long without a loss. Palermo did play very well, however, there will always be regrets especially regarding Leo's choices.
obviously he deserves a lot of credit for all the good results we have been getting, but today, it has to be said, he made a mess of the substitutions: Huntelaar should have definitely got a chance and if any midfielder was to be sacrificed for a striker, it should have never been Seedorf...he was the best of the 3 midfielders today: Amro & Pirlo were both below average. the good sign is that Leo wanted to rotate in this match but he chose to rest the wrong player (however, i'm not sure if it wasn't a forced rotation if Pato was not 100%) Anyway, this result could turn out to be a positive thing for the rest of the campaign (especially given the results of Inter & Juve) if Leo can learn quickly from this experince... |

Miccoli at Milan?Dont get fooled by his performance from today. Miccoli is a good talented player....thats it.He is nothing special, sometimes he plays like a god like today, othertimes he is invisible for most of the match. He is very inconsistent and if i remember he isnt the youngest any more.... |

I just went to other Milan forums and they are also baffled why Huntelaar isnt getting a chance.....
He should play, its time for him to show how good he is.What the hell is Leo thinking to put Inzaghi for Borrie all the time and leave Hunter rot on the bench. |

I am just as curious as everyone in here is with the Seedorf-Pippo change. Why was Huntlaar not substituted??? I think Boriello was not at his best yesterday and Huntlaar should have been brought on. Seedorf with Dhino would have created those chances for us to score those goals. And our defence. Nesta can only combine well with Silva. Kaladzhe and Favalli just scare the **** outta me.Well i just hope we end the season on a good note and its not going to be easy with Fiorentina being our last game.

About our loss, Leo is a rookie coach so he's liable to make some questionable (others would say "wrong") decisions here and there. I didn't watch the game so I wouldn't comment about it much, but from what I read the game was pretty balance and we had our chances too. Thankfully Inter only got a draw, and both Juve and Fiorentina lost to their respective opponents. Let's hope we can improve against Viola. FORZA MILAN

A disappointing result which I can understand the frustration of many. However, I'm not too upset and most definitely less affected by this game than I was Zurich midweek. My reason is we played a better opponent and played a better game than midweek. I'm also well aware we've had a great run for a long time now, so it's no shock results didn't go our way for once. Unfortunately, not all teams can be the Invincibles of the 90's.
The first half wasn't bad, it was an even game with both teams having periods of dominance. We had some fair chances, most of which Borriello missed, but Palermo had the better chances which they missed. Drawing at half time wasn't unfair to either team. The second half started very poorly as we were well hit on the counter. Miccoli was given too much room for the first goal with the defence in a state of panic. The second was a superbly executed counter which ended in a fully deserved goal. We reacted and created chances, but I think Pato's miss at the end summed up our day. The players... Dida - Not at fault for either goal and didn't do too much else. Zambro - Struggled with Miccoli, he had a game he'll hope to forget. Nesta - Struggled throughout trying to cover for both Zambrotta and Favalli. Favalli - As I feared before the match he struggles when asked to press high. Unable to cover and was often caught out by Palermo on the break. Antonini - Worked hard, but not the standard he's played to of late. Pirlo - Did relatively well in the first half without misplaced passes, but was overrun by the Palermo midfield. Ambro - Looked tired and struggled to dominate in midfield Seedorf - Was terrible at the start and gave away many balls. He wasn't particularly good throughout imo, as he still never helps defensively and is on and off in attack. Improved towards the end. Dinho - He's doing quite well, but holds on too long to the ball imo. Also his passing wasn't as precise as normal throughout the match. Borriello - Struggled to dominate against two powerful defenders. He had some chances but wasn't on form. Pato - Struggled to get into the match and had a terrible miss at the end. Pippo - Often got tangled with Pato on attacking moves, didn't really have a chance. Flamini - Didn't really add much to the match, just gave Ambro a rest. We could have been better, but it was about time we suffered a defeat. We can't get too upset over this and must look ahead. Luckily, most results went our way this weekend, so at least we didn't lose much ground in the title race. |

Milan should have won if Pato, Pippo or Hunter started. With Dinho delivered 4-5 half chances, only Borriello in the middle wasn't enough, and Abate became a surplus on the other side.
I'm not saying Abate played a bad game, he could have replaced Zambrotta though Zambrotta was an insurance to Favalli. |
