I see, I guess that was pretty much a guess/wish by you ... I thought you had read something more concrete about the line-up on a pool forum or maybe the club's official site.

The lates I read on Pool's line-up, coming from athens thru gazzetta, is exactly what you posted above - 5-men mid, with gerrard up front as playmaker/support forward and Kyut/Crouch as lone striker.

Paolo Maldini on Greek TV: It will be a a tough game, Liverpool is a strong opponent. We have good memories of Athens but at the same time bad memories are associated with Liverpool. Liverpool base their game in tactic but they also have players who are talented. They have a lot of tall men so we should find a way to stop them. I cannot say where i will dedicate the trophy because i want first to win the trophy. My motivation for playing is the participation and also helping Milan to win.

Zlat we should stop Gerrard i think is the key.

Pool have many other threats to offer tha Gerrard ... true, he is their inspiration and if we make him go AWOL, the others may very well feel lost out there but still, taking control on the midfield as a whole should be our aim.

I think Pool's best chance to cope with Milan's mid, to an extent, would be playing a 5-men mid with Mascherano and Alonsi behind Gerrard but this could isolate Gerrard as it might push him a bit too forward and into the hands of Milan's defense and midfield ... so, I would guess he would fall deeper into midifeld to try to find some space and time to orchestrate their play.

Just guesses ... we'll see in an hour or two.

Do any of you have that feeling that comes when a day is here that you've anticipated mercilessly for weeks on end? It's almost like a judgement day of sorts.

I'm 31 years old and I've never been so nervous about any single sporting event in my life.

that's probbaly the biggest danger for unrest among fans - the ones who went to Athens without already having a ticket (of 40,000 Pool fans reportedly in Athens less than half have tickets) could do crazy things especially if you factor in alcohol.

I am sure many here are feeling that way.
A very successful recipe for this is to get yourself in big trouble and that would negate the nervous moments around this game as you will have something else to worry about - for instance, smashing the windshield of your neighbour, with a police officer standing by, will definitely do the trick

Its going to be too hard to watch, but then again I have this feeling that god forbid if we loose come next year or the year after that when we reach another CL final, I will regret knowing that I chickened out.
