Calciomercato but it's just rumours ... that doesn't count in any way for me until there is an official article on the AC Milan website !!

Anyway, they are good rumours, I don't know if you noticed, but since this summer, we were linked with very good players each time, except Beckham who is just a very good economical transfer ^^

Ronaldinho Just Recommended Milan to sign Thiago Silva, his contract will expire in december so i guess we will be able to get him for free, and our brasilian camp will eliminate the stiff competition with other clubs. he wont need a non euro spot, as he has a Portuguese citizenship

Haven't read about Van Persie's rumour. He's a talented lad, but just like Robben, he gets injured far too often. Zarate has been doing well so far, but this is his first season in Italy where the defenders know nothing about him. Let's see if he can repeat it next year

Are you sure he's got Portuguese citizenship? I've never heard anything of it. True he played for Porto once, but only for less than a year. As far as I know he doesn't have an EU-passport and so can't be bought in January, as we already bought two Non-EUs (Sheva and Viudez). Unless of course we sell Sheva to Madrid

Anyway, I often wonder why you (almost) never hear of Brazilian players who carry a Portuguese passport. It's always Italian passports. I guess there's a difference between the Portuguese and Italian rules on recieving citizenship?

If its possible, and Thiago Silva has Portugese passport, then signing his for a free would be an EXCEPTIONAL job for Milan. He is a very versatile and skilfull defender, who is able to play as a DM ( so Carlo will like him too ). He has great pshisical power and from what I've seen is a very good player.

Of course there is always a danger for brasilian defenders to flop in serie a, but he is a great prospect and for free it would be worth it! Specially since Nesta will come back to Milanello also in january in God knows what condition, Maldini is 40 and Senderos is, by my scale, 2 times less of a player then Thiago Silva. I would go for him without thinking too much. If nothing, we can send Senderos back in the summer and not pay 8mln for that overhyped defender.

Viudez was really a great was to use a NON-eu spot... and the other one, $hevam, was also brilliant... They could have handed me the contract, im also NON eu

If Sheva is on loan, he doesn't take any EU slot ...

I say that because we still don't know if we bought him (and for how much) or if it is a loan with an option, etc ...

In FM09, they put him like a loan in the team, but is it a reliable source ??

Anyway, it can be easy to verify if Thiago Silva has an EU passport, play the game and look for him !! lol I'll do it later today to watch if they put him an EU passport or not ...

If Zapata is on the market, we can't miss that occasion, and if Thiago Silva is free, we can't miss that too ... two players, not a big economical invest but could be a very big invest for the future of the team !!

Seems like I could be excited for the first time in my life by a winter mercato !! lol

Yep, they say that Maldini and Pirlo are back in the group (that doesn't mean on the pitch of course).

For Nesta, if he comes back at the start of January, we can't expect him to be good before February ... and we'll have to pray for no new injury (even a minor one) !!

Agreed. Although I wouldn't exactly call Senderos overhyped - not because I think he's a great player, but rather because I can't remember anyone hyping him since he was a teenager! Even many, if not most, Arsenal fans thought he was an embarrasment. So much the stranger why we've loaned him?!?

Regarding the van Persie rumours - I don't get them (although I haven't actually seen them yet). How would he fit in? he's not a centre forward, more like: 1) a supporting striker, something we rarely use and when we do it's Pato's role. It would be strange to get someone who'd stand in the way of Pato, our greatest talent. 2) a wing forward (which RVP often plays with the Netherlands NT) which we don't use at all.

I'd say it's a safe bet that he won't come here.

We loaned Senderos as Galliani couldnt find anyone alse and wanted a free player... Weknew Ivanovic is a betrter player but Chelsea didnt want to put "buy option" on him and Milan didnt want to be a feeder club for anyone. And now we have Senderos

As far as I know, a loan (for a non-EU player) takes the non-EU spot. So, we can't take any other non-EU player (whatever Sheva's contract, a loan or permanent move) except the non-EU player plays or played last season in Serie (Zapata for example).

Viudez is the other non-EU player for Milan this season to complete the two non-EU players that allowed to come to a Serie A club in one season.
