Striker worthy the place of Andriy Shevchenko

The Crespo move to Inter for me has made more of a statement about our intentions for the attack than anything else...

He played for us before, and did quite well, but for some reason, we didnt go back in for him...what does that say?

For me, it says that we dont want a 29+ year old striker...we want a young talent, and a world class talent at that...will it be Ibra? I certainly hope not, simply because I dont like the player, both as a striker and as a person (havent exactly met the Swede, but you kno what I am talking about...he seems to have a bad attitude)

I think it also says that we WILL be signing somebody, and before the UEFA CL deadline, what in the first week of Sept? That gives us a lot of time...so, I will sit back and patiently watch the silly season unfold...now, one question though: Does Inter now have like 4,657 forwards on their team? Crespo, Adriano, Pizarro, Cruz, Martins..I mean really!

Agreed on both accounts. We have something they want and they have something we want, lets swap

Surely we can all agree that Crespo (wether on a loan deal or free transfer) would have been a vast improvement on Amorouso ?

Also think about this. A couple of seasons ago, Mourinho said "if Milan want Crespo then they should give us Shevchenko."

Gallaini and co. laughed off that ludicrous suggestion and rightly so. If we were to get Crespo, in essence the transaction would have been that.

That would increase the smugness of Mourinho ten-fold and would be slightly embarrassing for us.

Dida came from Corinthians, and now they want him?=)). Thanks for that information. If we get Tevez, I will join you, but if Tevez won't come, noway I want us to buy Buffon by Dida + Money.

Kia Joorabchian, who is part of Corinthians management and the only one that really supports Tevez, just said that Tevez is unhappy and waiting for his transfer. Also he predicted that Tevez will leave Corinthians before the year's end. He said this while in Europe, mmmm...interesting. This is the same guy that always guaranteed Tevez stay, but said that now he cant say the same thing. Good.

So please Milan, make a move...

Having Tevez, Gilardino & Inzaghi is great, but we would really need 4 strikers. We've all talked about how Amorouso isn't up to it and that maybe Boriello isn't quite what we need either. We've also all talked about getting someone like Crespo or Suazo as our 4th striker.

Now, seeing that Inter have Crespo and Martins wants a move, should we ask about him ? Martins has pace to burn and is strong as an ox, just remember back a few years when he frightened the life out of us in the CL semis. Ok so last season he wasn't that great, but he's started pre-season really well and i think a move across town could be good for him and us.

A set of strikers that included Gilardino, Tevez, Martins & Inzaghi would be amazing.

With 3 of them under 25, we'd be set for many years.

What do you think ? I guess it does depend how much he'd cost, i personally think it would be around the £8-10 million mark. Which if accurate would be a fantastic deal.

Corinthians appear set to part ways with unhappy forward Carlos Tevez for at least $28 million.

The 22-year-old has spent the past year at Corinthians, scoring 46 goals in 72 appearances. Tevez joined the Brazilian outfit for $20 million in 2005 after a successful stint with Boca Juniors, whom he joined at age thirteen. Tottenham has offered a little under 20 mil euros (18+ I think) for Martins. Given that and the excellent chance to look stupid again, make a guess whether Inter will be willing to sell him to Milan

If that's american dollars, then $28 million = £14 million, so maybe that price in the newspaper i put up here over the weekend wasn't far off after all.

If that figure is anywhere near accurate we MUST go for him, especially if Corinthians want Dida. That price is a steal !

SupremeMilan i think you're right about it being Man Utd though, after he wore their shirt in a press conference once he's always been linked with them. I really do hope they want Dida desperately.

Maybe if he was Carlinhos Tevezinho we would show some interest in him.

I would consider myself happy with Gila-Tevez-Pippo-Ibra.

or maybe if he showed more respect to his fans, more control over his emotions on the field, and less desire to make the headlines for the wrong reasons, we would have indeed gone for him, although in that case Corinthians would not have been so willing to let him go.
I know some have portrayed him as a hard working guy but no one can deny that his name is way too often in the middel of conflicts and controversy and that's hardly the way to attract Galliani's and Braida's attention.

Well, now its my turn

1) I think players show respect for their fans for what they do on the pitch, during 90 minutes and not during celebrations. And in that aspect, I see few players in the world that work harder than Tevez and can involve the fans the way he does it. Its impossible not to feel something special for him. So thats what bothered Tevez, that told the crowd to shut up because they are trying to win games. As I said before, this is the kind of teammates I want, that would come out to my defence. Tevez was untouchable for Corinthians fans and he didnt have to do that. He had nothing to win, it was a lose-lose situation. Still, he showed he is part of that team and its not Carlitos +10. Zlatan also did some stupid things and still we are linked with him. IMO Tevez wouldnt bring any baggage to an european club. I guess we shall wait until that moment and judge afterwards, but I have no doubts. But well, Braida and Galliani (how does he compare to Tevez with his 9 month suspension and respect for Milan fans all over the world?) should target the player they feel fit within our team and our character, that wouldnt mess our chemistry. I think Tevez wouldnt be an "outside the box" move by them, but if we arent at least interested its because of what you said...unless Im watching other guy that goes by the name of Tevez.

2) I think it would be a realistic plan for Milan. You got two guys (Ibra-Tevez) that are crying "take me out of this living hell" and one team (Milan) that has shown willingness to upgrade their offensive side. If you are a buyer on today's market, and Milan can be considered in that mode, we shouldnt have much trouble picking both guys. Its about our desire to approach them and pay an OK price. We wouldnt need to overpay for Tevez and Ibra, this is the right moment to make a move for them.
