No, they are not the worst team in the League. On current form, I think it is West Bromwich Albion.

Anyway, a five goal match does do wonders to the team's confidence. Even if it is against relegation strugglers.

OMG...
personally I thought this thread will explode as I saw the UCL knock-out stage drawings..
then It will be closed if United win the ticket to quarter-finals..

WTF the drawing was.. best teams meet quite early.. is it Champions League or FA Cup?
Milan have the better performance currently, but United will NOT let this campaign die. Champions League Title is the obvious target after we slipped a bit in the premiership.

it does seem strange, the top teams all play each other, apart from Inter

yeah, id agree that on present form Milan are the better side, but gradually the pieces are coming together for Utd. I said on here a few weeks ago about how good it would be if all Utds attackers hit form at the same time and now that Giggs and Scholes seem to be playing with confidence again it is possible that it could happen a lot can happen in 2 months though...

I read in the paper today about how hard Utds fixtures are already in February, we have to play Chelsea (twice) at home as well as Arsenal, Liverpool and the derby against Man City - and all of those are away from Old Trafford and now Milan as well ! i suppose by March we'll have a good idea what type of season this will be

When you have friends like me all you have to do is ask.

In one word the Manure season will be: Failure

In two words: Utter Failure

In three words: Totally Ridiculous Failure

In four words: Obnoxiously Suffocating Disastrous Failure

In five words: Prawn-Munching Nightmare From Hell

Prawn-Munching is one word or two? But you do get the drift of what I am saying or rather helping you realize. I'm just preparing you. It's called pacing for the natural disaster.

If you were saying that about United's Champions League campaign, I would understand, because they are playing against a team you support.

But saying that the entire season for United will be a disaster and drawing such perverse satisfaction from those thoughts?

You, sir, have just qualified youself as a muppet.

Brilliant. United always pull out super performances when they have a tough run of games. You don't even need to think back to '99. In the 2002/03 season when we won the league, we had the Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid pretty close to each other. And apart from one terrible performance at the Bernabeu, we were magnificent.

after the match against palace (yes i know they are not the best side) but just the performance the players put in i feel much more confident! Giggs was just brilliant you cant even tell time has passed him by. Fletcher to me ..is better for us than ronaldo not becuase hes a better player but he just fits in better. Scholes needless to say... .I think that our season is only starting and that...our confidence is getting much better our players are all putting in strong performances. The hard matches are coming up and its a bit worrying but at the same time encouraging because it will prepare us for the Milan matches!

GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!

Fergie built up Keegans stress levels so high that you could almost see his hair turning grey as he spoke

i always thought we were very unlucky in the Bernebeu, Scholes nearly gave us the lead twice before Figo scored that cross/shot after that they took control but it wouldve been interesting to see how Real wouldev coped being a goal down...

it was good to see them put 5 past someone in the league again a lot of the games we have struggled in we hadnt been putting enough men in the box for chances but now Scholes in particular is making dangerous runs again

Cantona issues Man Utd job hint -from MEN

Former Manchester United star Eric Cantona would consider returning to the club as manager one day.

But the Frenchman, who made 191 United appearances, would not come back if he felt he could not be creative.

"I will not return in the near future," he told MUTV. "If I come back I will need to be involved in football for two or three years because things change.

"I do not want to be a manager like everybody else, playing the same system. I want to create something."

Cantona says that he would like to follow in the footsteps of Johan Cruyff, who was an innovative coach when he led Barcelona to European Cup glory in 1992.

"I remember the 1970s with Ajax and after that Cruyff as a manager at Barcelona," Cantona added. "It was a new system.

"It is like in music - when you are a rock star and create something new."

The 38-year-old also stated that he is against American tycoon Malcolm Glazer's attempt to take over the club.

"I am against this kind of thing because I am like a child - I am a dreamer. I don't want these kind of people to come here," he said.

"If it is not Manchester United, if it is not a club where he can earn so much money, do you think he would love to come?"

Meanwhile, Cantona is at the centre of a storm after using an obscenity on MUTV on Sunday.

Cantona was appearing on a show where supporters quiz guests and it was broadcast at 5.30pm.

He said that Glazer should go buy Coca Cola instead
