A CB to cover for Senderos needs to be fast as Suzperman. And Gallas is not a bad player, he plays with kids at the back line in Arsenal!! He is an excellent player that finds himself coordinating kids! Put him with Zamnbrotta and NEsta and you'll see...

Gallas is a decent player, but he is not among the world's topest few at that position.since nesta endlessly harassed by back injury,It's time for us to find a replacement, a class and legend potentialist,I definitely see that in zapata, santacrocche, even mexes and tiago silva.

Just curious.. beside striker or midfielder are there any players who gets (or was wearing) number 10 or 9 for their jerseys?

For once i hope Galliani's words are true. He said we wouldn't go for Gallas and i don't think we should, he could do more damage than good despite his quality when he's totally happy.

I'd rather see us spend any money on players who want to come here with something to prove and no egos, i.e. Silva or Ivanovic.

The stories of us selling Kaka are starting up again and for once i think there might be some truth in them. To me he doesn't seem happy and he's been more vocal than usual about going to another league, i think him moving is more of a possibility than it ever has been before. Though i don't think i'd trust Galliani to spend the money we get from him wisely!

Khalid Boulharouz ----> CB of chelsea used to wear no.9

Other unusual shirt numbers :
  • Hicham Zerouali was allowed to wear the number 0 for Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen after the fans nicknamed him "Zero".
  • Though it is traditionally the goalkeeper's number, outfield players have occasionally worn the number 1 for their clubs, including Charlton Athletic's Stuart Balmer in the 1990s[13], Partizan Belgrade's Simon Vukčević in 2004-05
  • Jesús Arellano, when playing for Club de Futbol Monterrey wore the number 400 in 1996 to celebrate the city's 400th anniversary.
  • In 2003, FC Porto goalkeeper Vítor Baía became the first player to wear 99 in the final of a major European competition.

  • Brazilian EC Goiás goalkeeper Harley wore number 400 in a single match to celebrate his 400th match for the team.
  • Parma goalkeeper, Luca Bucci wears the number 5 shirt.
  • James Beattie and Steven Gerrard both wore 08 instead of their usual 8 in the Merseyside derby in March 2006 to promote the 08 Ambassadors Programme, which they both are signed up to, to signify Liverpool becoming the European capital of culture in 2008.
  • Tugay Kerimoglu wore the number 94 on his 94th and final cap for Turkey against Brazil in 2007.
  • Iván Zamorano was allowed to use the number 1+8 in Inter Milan because the number 9 was being used.
  • Juan Pablo Sorín was allowed to use the number 1+2 for Villareal because the number 3 was taken. This was only used rarely.
  • Rubén Sosa is known for using the number 100 because of the 100th Anniversary of Club Nacional de Football on 14th May 1999.
  • During his record-breaking 618th game for São Paulo FC, Rogério Ceni wore the number 618 (written with a red bold on the "1").
  • Brazilian goalkeeper Gilmar was given number 3 during the 1958 FIFA World Cup
  • Derek Riordan on return to former club Hibernian was given squad number 01, which is 10 in reverse. Number 10 had already been taken by Colin Nish.

Anybody knows what Galli & Berlu reverted to Calderon when he asked about Pato ??? Real always wanted our superstars....first they enquired abt paolo when he was fantabulous.....then Kaka.....now Pato !!!!!!!

Maldini our hero of the past (still is & ever will be)

Kaka is our present

Pato is our future....damn it...!!!!!!!!

From what I've read, the number was free after Bergkamp retired. The other players were somehow felt that wearing such a sacred number especially after the departure of the club's legend was quite a burden, so they passed the option. Meanwhile Gallas arrived, and thought that wearing the number 10 wouldn't bring as much pressure to a defender like him as it would have given a striker. So he took it

If Milan sells Kaka' to finance a purchase of 2 defenders Im gonna be really sick and I'll probably lie in bed for two days... then I'll sit in my car and in about 10 hours im in Milanello... After that I will show middle finger to Galliani or Berlusconi and I will not support Milan for that season. That is a promise. Selling players to finance new signings ( and not splashing all the cash at all! like in Sheva's case ) is disgusting for a man like Berlusconi.

Kaka' is a simbol, already a legend. And we want to sell him for money? How can replace him? Dinho cant as he cant play trequartista. Whoi? Lavezzi? Pato? I dont know. But old Milan would never sell Kaka'. I hope that is all just a lie and Ricky will stay in Miulan. We are not Juve to sell a player like Zidane!

Milan should be able to sell players like Seedorf, even Pirlo ( dead serious!), $heva, Oddo etc. And buy players like Gourcuff ( back for loan ), one forward, one CB and one fullback... and for that we need to sell our best player...? shamefull.

Gourcuff, Cigarini, D'Agostino, Aquilani, Montolivoi, Giovinco(!), Santacroce, Zapata, Frey, Benzema, Huntelaar, Pato...those are player Milan needs to rely on ( to add two or three young palyers, not more. ). This sheme with $heva, ANCELOTTI, Emerson, Fvalli...well you all know.

Kaka has been linked with almost every EPL team and every Team in the world, its this time its not different....

unless concrete offers come to Milan and Kaka actually does leave for Man ****ty, its all bollocks.

PS: Ancellotti doesnt play Mrki, he quit like 10 years ago, remember?

The only problem is that Kaka doesn't seem to deny these rumours unlike he used to. i know he said he wanted to retire at Milan but things can change. Hope he gets back to his best soon.

He has been giving diplomatic answers for a while now...saying that he'll only leave when Milan's goals and his do not coincide anymore...i.e. when the team doesn't want to be competitive anymore. I think he's just watching his back so if he does leave, he won't get a $heva-like response from the fans.

That being said, we shouldn't have to sell Kaka to finance anything...how about we stop dishing out mega contracts to all and sundry...having back-up players earning 2-3 million a year is crazy. Add to that the players who earn 4 million for 8 good games per year...and we have a bit of a problem.

It's true ... what a shame from a business man not to spend all his money in a football team when it's a worldwide economical crisis and when he has to care about it for his country !! Please Berlusconi, give the right example to Italian people, spend all your money in "leisures" (for a man like Berlusconi, AC Milan is a leisure I think) !!

About Kaka' rumours, we never worried when it was summer mercato (the only moment when real stars leave their clubs), so why would we worry right now ??

I don't think Kaka' will leave, but the problem is much deeper. To be honest, his behaviour has completely dismayed me. He is turning out to be a complete hypocritical, two-faced media darling. A few months ago he was Rossonero per vita; now he is considering playing in England. Quite frankly, the way he is approaching this in the media is not entirely dissimilar to how the fickle C. Ronaldo did last summer.

There is a tendency to give Kaka' undue allowance because of his generally positive demeanour. With all that said, in my opinion, Kaka' will stay at Milan until at least 2012. However, this discussion will be completely academic. In a few years, the depraved Premiership will whore itself to the best bidder. Arab sheiks and others with tenuous or no links to old Blighty will purchase teams and pay a king's ransom for the best players. Italy and Spain will be left to rue what could have been. Honestly, after Calciopoli, deaths, and the money riven Premiership, what is left of this sport? It is increasingly looking grotesque, and I am watching less and less. Today we can hold on to Kaka', but tomorrow belongs to the Premiership, not because of fundamental changes at the grassroots level, but because of its appeal as a product.
