Why do we have this crappy thread for a cra.... ex-decent club in MM? I can see lots of debates in this thread in the coming season coz the Mancs will not be sleeping tight

My sympathies for my buddy Stezagud and his gang

Don't worry Snapster, we'll never stray from being a Milan ONLY forum!!! It's an amusing trend I am seeing tho--we have a number of newer members who support ofther teams first. Why is that? Is it b/c these forums are so friendly or don't these other teams have forums for fans???

Hey argo....Milan United is a total insult to Milan!!!

Keane got better after he retired? Huh, he is far from what he was at his best and I saw no change after his international retirement.
well i think you and Argo are both right. While Keane didnt improve as such by retiring from International football, he has slowed the rate of decline considerably. His dodgy hip means he should only play 20 - 30 games a year now, but by not having to worry about International games he can spend more time recovering and play more games for Utd

I think things will be very tough for the first few months, 9 players are out before the seasons even started and Chelsea away as the first fixture It could be the end of September before Fergie can pick something near his first choice team

thanks mate, though i have the feeling you'll be dropping by this thread to gloat quite often this year

Thats a good point, though im not so new anymore, im one of the "divided loyalties pioneers" i started coming here to find out transfer news last summer and ended up being quite frequent because it is a friendly site

I think that MM has a more International feel than most of the Utd forums i'd seen, but (despite the distances most fans are from the team) the support is still passionate enough to generate decent discussion

to be honest, personally I don't really like this thread either.
IMO it will be much better if we change this thread into "English Premiership" so we can talk more to English football in general, not just United in particular.

As regards this roy keane and should he go back to international football?

The answer is he is coming back, he has already come back and its the right decision. In very simple terms his country wnts him and he wants to play for them. I think it will benefit man u anyway because it will take a load off his mind because of the circumstances in which he temporally stopped playing for Ireland. in fact he wanted to come back straight away when McCarthy was sacked but Ferguson vetoed it. Keane went through all last season without getting a major injury therefore proving to ferguson he has gotten over injury therefore what basis do man utd have to stop him playing for Ireland. As regards that he is not effective any more. he isnt cos hes older but he is still a top class player.

Also Liam Miller another Irishman played for Man U last night. A think he is a quality player but hes no Roy Keane. He is far superior techinally to Darren Flechter who played alot last year for man u though. What do the man u fans think of his chances of establishing himself in the team?

I do think it will be good for Keane to play for Ireland again as i think this will be his last year for Utd anyway, so he may as well make the most of it. He's been my favourite player for a long time but he just doesnt have the legs to compete with the very best any more. The trouble for Utd is how to replace him as he is more than a player, he is the leader.

Milan have a similar problem when Maldini goes but at least with Nesta already in place they have it half solved

I first saw Miller play for Celtic against Anderlecht last year and he played a brilliant reverse pass, i remember saying at the time "that was too good for the Scottish league" so its nice to be right for a change I think you may have been a bit harsh on Fletcher as he is barely out of his teens, Miller was nowhere near Utd's first team at that age either. Both of them need time to develop but there is plenty of talent there.

As for his chances of getting established, i think he could have done without missing pre-season. With all the injuries arround he would certainly have got his chance, probably on the right wing against Chelsea. With Ronaldo (Olympics) Solskjaer (Crippled ) and Fletcher (Suspended) all out he would have started for sure but im not sure if he's fit enough.

i expected you to pay a visit after the Chelsea game because even i can't see how we will win that one im praying for the miracle of Stamford Bridge

I agree, it would be better to expand it to cover the whole Premiership, i want to be able to talk about other teams in the weeks Utd dont win

didnt intend to be harsh on fletcher it was more praise for miller your right there is plenty of talent there with both of them. but i think miller is only 22 maybe 23 so he cant be too much older than fletcher. anyway good luck to man u inthe priemership this year

me either don't want any connection between those 2. I just wanna show that I support Milan and United. That's it and that's all!
btw, those clubs haven't met each other too many in the last couple seasons. It will be an exclusive clash IMO, just like Brasil and Germany in World Cup.

It sounds like Miller may start against Chelsea now and if so it will really be throwing him in at the deep end. I remember seeing him play on the right wing for Ireland a month or 2 ago and he did well (man of the match IIRC) so he probably will be ahead of Fletcher in the pecking order anyway, i just hope he gets fit fast.
