Maybe you're right mk in that Shevchenko should be played up front, but then that means all these people on here who says Shevchenko likes to come deep are wrong.

That aside, i don't see why you can't play diarra and gattuso together. The point of them being the two in front of the back 4 is to offer more defence and protection, it's not about starting moves. With 3 creative players in front of them plus 2 highly attacking full-backs, you need more strength in the middle, something that neither Pirlo or Seedorf offers. They can't run, they can't tackle and half the time they don't track back. With weaker teams, yes of course we could play just one of Diarra/Gattuso with Pirlo, that's fine. But for me i want more high energy players in the 'engine room' and i'm sorry but in those terms Seedorf and Pirlo just don't cut it.

Diarra just has to be bought! We need some speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed! damn. galliani wake up and spend some big money!

the way i think about it is, look at ourselves 2 years ago, still very ambitous, gattuso running like crazy, pirlo playing amazing, everything was going great, this season, gattuso is in a way back to his old self, but pirlo is playing piss poor, the only flaw was that gattuso cant attack, pirlo cant defend, how do i solve this?? bring in diarra, put him in gattuso's place, he has the determinaiton and the ferocity rino has, and hes much better in attack, and with a pirlo on form, it probably the better solution IMO, just have to get pirlo back in form

gys, assumptions, and again assumptions. There is so much time until the real transfer season reopens. wait till it comes and then start with such comments. Plus, do you really expect that club officlals will say something like "half the team is leaving and we'll revolutioniza the team for next year" when the curent season has yet to finish? How could you expect the players will feel, what desire to win will they have if they know that next year they may be kicked out? Speaking of transfers during the season can only damage the morale of the team as it shows lack of faith in their abilities.
And then again, do you really believe that Carlo has to only point to a player he likes and that player automatically is delivered to him. The guy works and does his best with the material that's given to him and that's it - he may want a revolution but after all he is just another Milan employee, who has to follow guidelines.

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti says Real Madrid midfielder Zinedine Zidane is too young to be announcing his retirement.

Ancelotti has the likes of Paolo Maldini (37), Billy Costacurta (40) and Serginho (33) under his charge and said: "Age is just a number ... at Milan we have boys who are much older than him.

what do u think??... to be honest if rui is leaving, i dont mind zidane, hes dropped in form but hes a freaking legend and i tihnk he has more to add its just that hes playing i n a circus...

it would be awesome if this is true and he ends up with us. I think a 40 yo and one-legged Zidane is better than most of the current overhyped #10s around. At Milan he won't have to play every 3-4 days so hw would be able to have more time to rest and be at his best. And I agree with Carlo that Zizou could play another 1-2 years in a top club like Milan.
As for being another Rivaldo, I doubt it as Zizou was sucha great success with Juve and owned Serie defences. true his was younger than but then again Rivaldo had never played vs such defensive formations in Spain and when he came to Milan he had to readjust ath teh age of 32-33, I think.

If we get Zidane I will puke. No kidding. I guess I wouldnt mind having him playing the Rui Costa role, but no major minutes or starting role.

his salary also might be around 80k $ a week and also it won't be a usefull addition unless he revives his form in the WC. but yeah what a player he was with juve and also RM till 2003.

if he comes to Milan, his salary won't be anywhere hear what he's being paid now. High salary comes from high demand, should he come to Milan, it would be like an exception he would make only for the sake of seeing what it feels like to be a Milan player and not because he needs money and is trying to get rich off of us. He has already decided to end his career, this is very dif from the Rivaldo case whose salary was indeed rather steep for the service we got in return.

I had heard that he wants to quit coz he doesn't want to tax his body anymore. If he wants to relax why will he join us coz we have very tight fixtures and serie a can be very physical!

whether zidane comes or not we have to get pacy players in the midifeld and the defence. if we continue with the our aging players we are gonna suk esp. with the case of billy and capitano. although i wud like to differ by saying that cafu still looks young and agile! I don't know why but i feel like getting some players from the east, somewhere like russia ( arshavin) or one of the Berezutskiy brothers. also how abt any asian???

well, because he has never played for Milan and almost all players who have ever been in our club have said that this is the perfect place to be at. Plus, it's not like he would be playing wed-sun fixtures. right now in Real he is the one player the formation starts from and this indeed could be a problem for a 33-34 yo player. But at Milan, if he comes at all, his appearances will not be as frequent as they are now with Real M.
The way I see us profitting from such move is to let Rui go to Benfica and get Zidane in his place. If given proper rest and played in games a whole week apart, I think there is still lots of first-class football in Zizou. Right now he looks sort of spent in his games for Real but I don't think the reason for this is because he's spent as a player but simply because Real treat him as if he is 20yo and play him with 3-4 days of rest when he isn't injured. Actually, even a 20 yo might have problems with keeping up with his current schedule.
