Zambrotta isn't as big a threat in the penalty box for set pieces, he doesn't attack the ball like Sorin does, i don't think he's as comfortable on the ball as Sorin or possibly as quick. Sorin also has this energy about him. I know Zambrotta just came back from injury so it's hard to judge him, but you watch Sorin and he's sprinting up and down that wing all the time ... Zambrotta seems to sometimes need encouragement to get going.

Sorin is versatile, he plays in midfield for Villareal.

I think all three - Zambro, Sorin, Heinze - would be great on the left side. Every one of them has his pluses and minuses so, it's not easy to OBJECTIVELY single out any one of them. All three are versatile and would be very useful players to have.
If I had to choose, I would probably go for Zambrotta but mostly because he's Italian and is also accustomed to Serie A football, not because I think he is necessarily better than the other two.

i know versatility is a good thing, but i don't like to see players being pushed all over the place just because they have played a few games there. To get the best out of Zambrotta you surely have to play him at left-back and keep him there.

I think Heinze is better at CB than LB, i don't think he has as much skill out wide as the other two.

Sorin doesn't have that much to him IMO. There is a reason Lazio didn't want to keep him. He is a liability in defense and assist about one goal per season. what he have going for him is his energy and ability to run into the penalty area.

Heinze is better in defense than Zambro, but have very little offensive skills.

Zambrotta has to be my favourite of the three. Hes one of the few Juve players with the heart to battle on those bad European nights they have. He and Cassano were probably the only players to do anything at Euro 2004 and again he tried to push Italy forward against America.

I think he has become one of the best players in Italy. Sorin and Henize are both excellent, but Zambro rarely gets beaten and can get forward.

It's true Lazio didn't hold onto him Kris, but how long ago was that ? Many many years, so i don't see that as having much relevance.

What i like about Sorin is that he's committed, so if he pulled on our top you know you'd get 100% out of him. However many he scores or assists with, he's still a bigger goal scoring threat than Zambrotta.

hahaha it seems That Real Madrid keeps having all their rumours shot down by the players they are rumoured to be getting. First Kaka, now Zambrotta haha. I wonder whats going on over there.

Hopefully with more time, Milan will prove to have gotten the better of the deal and get Zambrotta

I consider Emerson to be more in the mold of Ambrosini, but far more solid. BUt you're right, I dont see any point in getting the "wild boar" (that one's for you Grenoli!!) either. As for Nedved, he is short term, past his prime, and dives like a sissy. The only role for him in our team would be in Milanello---as tackling practice for Gattuso.
100% agree with you! Zambrotta is not a phenomenon, but is the best in his position nowadays. Sergio Ramos usually plays the central defender role in Madrid, with Cicinho or Salgado in RB role.
As for Heinze, I still wondering why the ref didn't show him the red card in minute 44 vs. Mexico. That was a terrible mistake and could cost more than just a yellow card.

And for all people that were claiming Heinze and Sorin are equal to Zambrotta, I wish them luck in understanding football the way they understand it. Zambrotta can be the best LB and Rb , LW and RW, Heinze looks ridiculous compared to Gianluca. Sorin? Falls out of position. If can ANYHOW gat Zambrotta, this is the transfer that cant be missed.

I honestly doubt that you'd be saying that if Argentina went through and Italy didn't. Zambrotta had the game of his life vs Ukraine but one game is hardly a logical basis to make a statement like the above.
Anyway, I am sure lot's of people wish they could understand football as well as you do but just so you know, noy everyone feels that way

Zambrotta has played very consistently throughout the world cup imo. A lot better than the one-game wonders who people create threads about everyday. "Player X scored a goal vs Team Y.. HE'S THE NEW SHEVA!!!!"
