Yes, I hope this is the start of a great career for him in Milan...

he's just 19, and coming from a team with not as much exposure as the ones where other players have come from. So I think Milan will have to take him one step at the time...

for anyone comparing him to Kaka' making an immediate impact, we have to consider that Kaka', at 21, had already been in Japan/Korea WC (even if he didn't play), and many important and high stress level tournaments with a big team like Sao Paulo...

I hope Gourcuff can start playing in the Coppa Italia, or a few minutes replacing Kaka', Seedorf, Pirlo, or a forward if Carlo goes for the Xmas tree at some point... then see how he adapts...

I sure hope, SANT.
But this is one of those transfers when you have nothing to lose really. Even if he turns out to be just a good player and never meets our expectations, we have paid only 3 mil for him and that's money one can always get back.
The way I see it is that Milan can only win from this move.
Still, I have a feeling that he would be loaned out to another Italian Team - preferrably one participating in the CL, like La Viola for instance (the have released both Fiore and Jimenez, so they would be glad to have him, I think) - to gain some more experience, unless of course he is indeed something very rare and special.

I disagree with you in some points, Sant. He played 57 matches in France over the last two seasons and I think he can make a splash in Serie A.
He is different from Kaká in one aspect: he is not that fast, but what midfilder in world football is faster than Kaká?
That said, I presume Ancelotti will use his talent near the box, because he can create some situations to the forwards and this will help him in developing striker skills.
He is not ready for Serie A, but I foresee a very good tandem with Kaká in some matches against small outfits.

Warro Bantan will become famous soon enough
So this aquisition isnt Rui´s immediate replacement? Wow!! Good, so if he is loaned out we will be able to see how good he really is, risk free (hopefully we put in a "Cant play vs Milan clause, so it really is risk free) evaluation of him.

If he is poor, he wont impact us negatively...dont mind the loan thing, but this loan issue raises the juicy question as to who will replace Rui?

One thing for certain, Berlu is going to have to spend big to get someone of similar ilk.

Yeah, I see we don't disagree that much... I think of him more as a potential replacement for Seedorf in a couple of years, than a vice-Kaka'... we will see what management asks for him... TBH, I've never seen him play a single game... only highlights, and that's not enough to judge...

so let's be confident that he's young, he's talented, he has experience in Le Championat, and France U21 team... Carlo will know how to blend him in...

As a replacement for Rui Costa I think we can go for Riquelme or Aimar, what do you think about it? I guess both are very fine playmakers.

And if Gourcuff can play at Seedorf's position, that is really great, 'cause the dutchman is not very playing well lately, in fact he didn't manage to go to WC even.
