What do you mean the same midfield? I gave an option that Ambro and Gourcuff play as left MC and right MC respectively. But I am not sure if Carlo yet will use Gourcuff regularly as left MC (old position of Seedorf) considering Gourcuff is not good at defending and we have Jankulovski on left side who is not too strong at defending too.

You quite right about Yoann being a defensive liability. His passing
and dribbling are great, but he is only good as an attacking mid.

What a quandry? So why on Earth did Ancelotti pick him up?

His defending isn't that bad and he always runs back to help out on D. So imo he'd be fine in the #10 position OR Seedorf's old LM role.

You think he couldnt take pirlo's role? I am yet to see his dribblings, and i would like to get some speed in seedorf's place. But ok, he's just starting now, he has much to learn in next 2 seasons...

Well he does play CM for France u-21 so I guess he's also fine in the middle of the field. Carlo obviously won't stick a younger in such an important position though (losing the ball in the middle of the park would be disaster) so he's just grooming him till he eventually plays where he rightfully should play, in the middle as the Zidane of our midfield.

I think he is a very good player, the problem is that Carlo prefers experience and older player then Gourcuff. He needs to play and thats it.

yes he si great, but the real problem is that he will lose his self steam if Carlo continues ignoring him

I mean honestly, did he play THAT well against Siena? Why are we speaking like he is the savior?

I'm not saying that he is not good; he is good, but he by no mean is the standard of Rui Costa, yet. The good thing is he is very young, so there are still rooms for growth (i.e., exceed expectation).

I hope that he can be decisive in a game (like scoring important goals lol), make a few good passes to help strikers score, or he himself scores. I think he still needs some time to be mature to play in Serie A honestly, but he is already better than last year I think.

I'd like to highlight the first paragraph which (according to freetranslation.com) translates to him saying that he still doesn't have enough (confidence/trust?) to play like he does with the French national team but slowly he hopes to get some more freedom on the field and take more risks especially in attack.

This is apparent when you see he just keeps making those back passes instead of trying something adventurous which is definitely in his repertoire. I guess with more playing time he'll get comfortable and start playing like he knows how to.

Thats why he needs to play, he wount get better if he is on the bench. Bench Emerson who is over 30 and let the young guy play. Emerson already played his time.

Emerson and Gourcuff has very different roles in the team. Gourcuff plays at a much more advanced position (as we can see, he basically subs kaka`'s role in yesterday's game) than Emerson.

Also, if Milan is so unwilling to play younger players, Kaka` wouldn't even have a chance to play when he just joined. We'll see how management treats youngster pretty soon once Pato is available. So, I think it's rather that Ancelotti thinks that Gourcuff is not yet ready (in terms of technique and general ability) in playing at Kaka`'s position.

4M is just an investment into a potential future + a backup. This doesn't mean that he wouldn't become the next Zidane! In fact, I very much hope so!

after seeing seedorf and kaka play gainist catania, dont you think its time for gorky to play alongside the big guys... bench seedorf, cuz i think gorky and kaka will be magical.

Seedorf always played better in the CL because of the space he gets. I think we should already get Gorky on some game experience, especially against smaller teams in A. Gorky has that ability to dribble and create space for the attack, but with that comes the posibilty of loosing the ball from time to time.. and Carlo hates that..
