As much as I see Marcelo is playing for RM...so he didn't go on loan to Fluminese as was reported

With the departure of the "Special One" from Chelski...what will happen to thier expensively assembled squad come the January window?

Will Drogba leave? Will $heva become a "player-manager"? Will Joe Cole arrive in Milan?

I think the departure of the Portugese manager will result in some dismantling of the side, and I hope Milan can benefit, even if the only player I would take from them, Essien, would find it difficult to get a starting place on our team...

It's a mouth-watering prospect but in this case Chelsea is not like Juve. They don't lack of money. So except if the player himself asks to be put on the transfer list, I doubt that Roman will let somebody leave easily nor cheaply

Milan and Real being linked with Ballack after Mourinho's departure. Ballack is a player like Baptista, and is european, and might come cheap, and is NOT cup-tied. Hmmmm?

A fight with Juve and Inter? And he would probably be the same position as either Seedorf and Kaka, you don't need him at all, especially with Pato in the pic and he is verstile

I would go for Essien and Cech, the latter is much more important.

Exactly. I would like Alex, I think there's a chance they would let him leave.

Long time till January.We'll have to see who are the players the new manager counts on and who are the ones who'll find themselves on transfer list.

But frankly, no matter who takes over Chelsea, i really doubt he'd like to get rid of Essien or Cech, even Alex.

i think the difference is the role both players had in their former clubs. oddo was their captain converted free kicks and penalties and was a focal point of lazio's game. janku played in midfield and had less defensive duties.

Exactly they both have more defensive responsibilities and have adapted brilliantly. I really don't understand why some people on this forum give them a hard time, they're two of the best fullbacks in the World.

I'd like that. But as far as I know we only need wingers, attack is no problem, once again i'll say this, we have kaka', he could've played benfica by himself

Essien would be good, but I would absolutely LOVE Cech and Alex...
Though there will be SOME dismantling, I doubt they will be selling their key players, as Roman would certainly not welcome that... But we can keep dreaming until the silly season commences, only to find out that it is nigh on impossible for players like Cech, Essien, Drogba, Terry, Lampard, Cole and Alex to leave Chelski...
I think the depratures would be mostly limited with the unsettled players, such as Ballack, Shevchenko and what not...So perhaps, Milan can make a move for those players...

I still fail to see what is so special about Alex. He, Ballack & Shevchenko are definately players we should stay away from.

I know what you mean about the new manager not letting any of the big players go, but if the players feel like they want to leave then can Chelsea stop them?. Below is just one of the articles that are out today talking about some of the players:

I know we were interested in Drogba highly over the summer, does anyone know if he would take the non-eu spot? I know he played in France for some time, maybe he has some kind of citizenship.

Let's get Cech, Terry (or Carvalho), Malouda and Drogba and we'll be fine.
