every journalist links milan with ANY unsettled or free agent player over 30... its sad but accurate how the media views milans transfer policy.

why the hell would we go for Ljungberg if we are "seeking reinforcements for defence" ?

whoever wrote this article is a pathetic excuse for a jounalist.

Stendardo for Brocchi?

http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=823927

I'm not happy about getting Stendardo, but if it means shedding Brocchi, then I guess it's a good deal. I can only assume that Stendardo has lesser wages than Brocchi, so we would be saving money on a trade. Also considering our CB situation, we need Stendardo more than we need Brocchi.

But still, what we REALLY need is a world class CB. Stendardo wouldn't really help us that much. In a perfect world, we would just sell Brocchi and use that money to help fund the purchase of one of the Silva's, or Ivanovic, or best case, Zapata who I've seen play many times with my own eyes. This guy is a superstar! (assuming he's fully recovered from his surgery).

Probably no new central defender
http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/aug18c.html
It's a match analyse from Carlo where he states that if Nesta, Maldini and Kaladze are fit we won't need a central defender.
He is right, but how long will they stay fit, I doubt we'll start every match with Maldini and Nesta at the back... If it was possible then I agree with him but. The fact that both of them are so injury prone makes we need a very good back up somebody that can fill in the gap after Maldini.

I wouldn't say they are very injury prone. They are about as injury prone as any player who has to play every game for his team in top level. x_x

I think if we have Nesta Kaladze Maldini Bonera Oddo Zambrotta Favalli etc fit we wont need any new arrivals, but as long as they are injured, we do need reinforcements, even if it was a short-term solution

Some possible good news about Ivanovic.

Agent: Ivanovic wants Milan Monday 18 August, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The agent of Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic insists that the Chelsea man is likely to wear the Milan shirt next season.

The Rossoneri are looking for defensive reinforcements to back up their brittle and ageing back line.

A fortnight ago it seemed a loan deal for Ivanovic was inevitable, but talks hit a brick wall at the 11th hour.

But Ivanovic’s representative believes that an agreement can be reached before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

“Juventus have asked for the player, but there has been no contact and Branislav has chosen Milan,” Vlado Borozan told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Therefore he will probably be playing for Milan next season. A deal will be done, partly because the player is unhappy.

“The problem at the moment is that Chelsea want four starters in his position and he is the fourth.

“It is difficult to find an arrangement that works for both sides but there is a game to be played and it can be completed.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this is true (assuming it's not just his agent talking) and Ivanovic is keen to join us i think it's great news. With a bit of luck maybe the deal can be ressurected and he can be wearing our shirt and starting for us next season.

Goal.com's article about the Ivanovic news also includes some interesting quotes from baldy.

Let's hope Ivanovic can put some pressure on Chelsea. Either way, it sounds like a defender will eventually come our way.

I know, it's tribal, but it references Corriere dello Sport as its source. I've seen Kovac play a couple of times. He's certainly not world class. I don't see him as much of an upgrade on either Bonera or Kaladze. But he does have interesting size for a CB.

First i must say BIG UP to the fastest man in the world USAIN BOLT...9.69 seconds...
JAMAICA da best...

Now to the sad actuality:
After finishing 5th management said it was time for rebuilding. So we went ahead and get a few free and cheap pieces to help patch up things. Nothing new... replacing old with old is not a step in the right direction...

Cant waste anymore time beating this dead horse.... Olympics is on and Jamaica is gunning for more gold medals..
