"I have already said that the club I will listen to first will be Atlético."

"Torres is said to be after improved terms, while Atléti are looking to tie him down to a longer contract."

It's ok for him to listen to Atletico first, but he wants improved terms to sign a new contract it seems. If they can't come to an agreement, or if Milan steps up with an offer he can't refuse, he will be ours.

Can Milan step up with an offer he can't refuse?

If he says he wants a new Athletico contract then the price would be high, that could trouble Berlusconi...

I'm sure that Milan have the money and the power to do that. The only question is: Do they want to?

I surely hope not... We'll just have to wait and see.

The negotiations are ongoing this weekend I would think, as Milan are in Madrid right now. They beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in a mini-tournament there last night.

Oh damn... My bad!

Of course not, I should've swapped Madrid with Spain at least. Sorry! Too much to drink I guess...

No problem, Spain is a good enough way to get around your post

did anyone watch the game last night? If yes, could you let me know how Torres played. Even if we get Torres and/or Ronaldo this yr, we will still rely on Pippo and Gila to supply the majority of the goals. Whomever we will get, will be the number 3 fwd. Sadly, there is nobody to replace Sheva, at this pt, we are adding depth. A healthy and motivated ronaldo can make up for sheva's 20 or so goals, but it's asking a lot. Torres is talented, there is no question about that, but last yr he only scored 13 goals for Atletico and he was also the primary penalty taker. I am sure in the right environment he can flourish, but I don't think he is a true scorer. I read on some Italian site, that berlusconi will focus all his attention on trying to get ronaldinho for next season. As for this yr, why not get Torres/Ronaldo, and then Tavano. Tavano would be a very good 4th fwd for us. We would then have Gila, Pippo, Ronaldo/Torres, and Tavano.

It would be great if someone can merge the " Torres-Milan " thread into this one...thank you.

Now, about Torres... I'll try to explain it this way. In Milannania people were "in love" in Sheva ( as all the Milan fans were, so was I ). But, there is not a single striker in the world that can make such an impact in Milan as Sheva did. I believe that not even Henry in not that deadly as Sheva was for Milan. we CAN NOT find another Sheva, and Torres isnt "new Sheva", or "little Sheva", he is Fernando Torres. Very good and perspective striker, that can do great for Milan. His game needs to be improved by another 20%. He doesnt have the touch Sheva had, ha cant create like Sheva, but that is becouse HE IS NOT SHEVA.

So to conclude...If we get Torres I would be very pleased becouse we got a great and young striker that can play good football with Milan and become one of top strikers in the world. Sheva is gone, and now we need to play different football. No more goals that come from his magic, its time to play team football. And Torres can to just that in the right way. Im 100% for Torres in Milan. With Kaka', pippo and Gila he can play great football.
