Very nice posts,to bad i dont have time to read them all,but the ones i read(Brasileiro,Samaldinho)were great.

I am happy that Beckham joins us,from what i remember last season he was a relief to have in our side,he was making it so much easier to play decent football and also Pirlo was playing better because he wasent marked the whole time, with Beckham, our crosses will be even better and we can rest Pirlo/Seedorf once in a while,so great news. Also dont forget! We finally have someone who can take dangerous freekicks!

Also IF the news of a winger coming to Milan in January mercato is true,we will be a much stronger and i we would be adding great dept,Beckham could also play as a RW.

Beckham,a winger and a fullback would be a good mercato, and with these signings we could challenge for Scudetto and CL really, its just so sad.....we are lacking a few players to challenge for prizes,i hope the MGT at least signs a winger(Oddo isnt giving horrorshows and Zambro is pulling through so a winger would be better then FB...)

Lets start negotiations: 2 Brazilians talents per season, but one of them can be a project, right? If not, 2 ready to contribute in a spare of 2 years. They can also bring me to Italy(half of the year), and I will travel the country to find promising youngsters.

Also, lets turn this European passport thing in a prize. If one of them is a EU- player, I get more money! Altough miscegenation in Brazil is huge, the process of to take a European passport is hard now...

Great post, Salmadinho... I just edited to my answer do not occupy a entire page, ok?
I think everyone here want a spine of Italian players since itīs Milan DNA. But they need to be good. Ok, a role player is a role player(and I donīt get the logical of to spend a non-Eu spot in Brazil for a role player for example) but they(the Italians) need to be Milan standards. Even if they are for the bench. They need to have the level of a Milan bench player.

Lets us not be been deceptive here, in the past(near and far), a big part of our Italian players were Italy NT material. So, I donīt believe that even with our DNA and history we could have successe with a team full of Italian role players.

People prefer Rafinha because he seems attainable, Schalke and Rafinha have problems. Motta, despite his lack of play time, seems to be prized by Roma. Plus, Rafinha isn't cup-tied, and Motta is. I would prefer Motta over Rafinha, because of Motta's experience in Serie A, rather than his nationality. I rate Rafinha very highly, but Motta has fight and spirit to his game, and has shown great leadership qualities.
Now, thats a point that I respect(contrary to the nationality madness I read here).

If you read one of my posts, you know that I partially donīt agree with this Serie A thing, and I think itīs a ittle overrated. But I would be crazy if I give it zero importance. Itīs just that imo(and itīs just it, a opinion) Iīm more confortable with a player that lead a BIG team in Brazil(just for example) than a amazing performer in a middle or small Serie A team.

Do I think itīs a cardinal rule? Of course not, but when the subject is to be shine in team like Milan, I believe more in a talented player used to unfair presure, than a talent used to a league, but also to the low pressure of a middle club.

Not saying itīs a fact(since itīs a opinion), just that I believe it will help more. I was just talking about it with a friend, and using Granero as a example. Great season at Getafe, used to La Liga game, and still couldnt deliever at Real Madrid... and is having more chances to prove himself than Huntelaar.

Another great case is Suaso(sp?). What this guy did playing for a small team in a so defensive oriented league as Serie A was amazing. But what happened in Inter?? Nothing... How many players would have survived at what Pato is suffering now? And at the tender age of 19/20yo... Very, very few...

Brasileiro, I respect your opinions like everyone else on this board, and you really should quit whatever job it is your doing and go into scouting. I wish Egypt was as good as Brazil, and I can only dream of Egyptian players suiting up for Milan. However, I am worried about Milan's lack of talent recruitment from Serie A. It puts tremendous pressure on players to adapt. Do you think Kaka could have become the player he was without Milan having Rui Costa? Pato without Kaka or Ronaldo? Thiago Silva without Nesta? I don't think so.

Reza and GeoTav are contacting Galianni, and I will close my company the day he calls me

Your point is valid, no doubt. But theres a thing that is overlooked in Milan and that I think our MGT(and old players) deserve to be praised. They give us stability. Look at Real Madrid as example. They had lost to Milan, we have a history, and all of sudden they are in crises?!? How can a young player reach his potential in a environement like that? And with Raul and his crew filtering facts and lies from the locker room to press(can you even imagine Maldini doing this?), you have a recipe for a disaster and for to burn young players...

Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has ruled out any new signings during the winter transfer window, aside from David Beckham's arrival.

The club have been linked with a number of players, and reports have claimed that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be transfer listed.

However, the chief has rejected such assertions.

"I have never spoken about buying players - only David Beckham will arrive in January, no-one else," Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

"Huntelaar? He's not on the market. He is a penalty box player and the problem has been that we have not been able to feed him properly."

Having seen his team win three on the bounce, including a famous win against Real Madrid in the Champions League, Galliani has underlined the importance of maintaining the pace both in Europe and in Serie A.

"We cannot stay out of the Champions League. The objective is to win it, and we have to finish at least in third in Serie A so we can qualify for it."

as for fabio i said that he probably will fail has he doesn't get enough first team football Denilson was used as a cmf it only now that they have adapted him as a holding midfield player because they have no one else as for lucas he is getting crucified every time he plays he will not succeed at liverpool it is so plain to see. Alves as soon as he moved to big league he just flopped and for a player that cost 14 million and was in mid twenties that is unbelievable.

Mate i was going to give up but you have spurred him you just finding silly excuses to avoid the points of my argument please i need to teach you football and strategy and probably by the sounds of it english you shouldn't give up you need help. I think you know that Milan should buy the likes of Hernanes and co and are just trying to avoid the debate
Silly excuses? You clearly didnīt read my post. Now I can see that.
Have you at least attempted to read the RAWK thread about Lucas in that link? Heres the link again:
http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/...pic=248994.760
Look how heīs earning the praise of the majority there. You can see they also agree with you, and think he was realy bad against Manchester United last Sunday

In my post I said that Denilson was a DM... I watched him since Brazil youth teams and he was always a DM. And thats is the reason I criticized Arsenal, because they were asking for Denilson to interpretate a role he doesnīt fit.

Regarding Alves, he was great in Eredivisie, but itīs not his fault MB scouts are so bad. If they had read MM, they would know Alves wasnīt a player for EPL... Also, that bad coach didnīt help.

You, teaching me football and strategy? No offence, but I will pass... I didnīt spent my youth years playing for a team here and learning from great coaches, plus didnīt take Football 1 and Football 2 as credits in College to learn it from you. Hope you donīt mind...

Oh, and the best part, the one Iīm used to it since I start to post in English forums. The English one

Look, Iīm here since 2003, and just a few times I saw somebody bash me for my English. To be more clear, 2 times. Not saying that my english is great(far from that), but thats not the level of the debates here in MM, and thats is one of the reasosn Iīm still here. Even in the NFL and NCAA football boards that I post(99% are Americans), I canīt remember of being criticized for my english. They know Iīm Brazilian and is not my first language. They just disagree or agree with my points.

Also, the ones that used the "english card" against me here in MM in the past, were the typical internet young gangstas, brave ones I must say, but at least they had an almost perfect English, and had learned to use commas and punctuations.

Heck, Iīm a former player, still runs 15 Km a day, and everytime that I finish to read a post by you, Iīm breathless

I cannot lie that I am attemped to know how old are you, but it will be disrepectfull with the others young guys here that can debate with respect, understand my bad english, and more important: Know to use the comma and punctuation
EDIT:Just saw it now(after a long breath)...
Yep, Iīm not only trying to avoid the debate(with you), Iīm also trying to not read your posts. Feel free to do the same...

Brasileiro, I agree completely with everything you said.

I don't think that just because a player has Serie A experience that he will do well in Milan. I just think that we've went outside of Serie A a little too much, and that I think we should try to grab some more Serie A based players, mostly because it seems they would be cheaper and ensure we can use our non-EU spots more efficiently.

I also think that the standard of Italian players we bring in is not the same as before. Antonini, Di Gennaro, and Bonera are no where near the class of Donadoni, Pirlo, or Nesta. I would have loved to bring in Aquilani, for instance (even though he's a huge gamble).

Any player you buy, no matter where they are from, has the real risk of failing. I don't think that a Serie A player changes that risk to like 90%, but looking at Juventus, Inter, and Roma, they really grab a lot of talent from Serie A. Roma took Motta, Vucinic, and Pizzarro. Juve have went after Amauri, Iaquinta, and Felipe Melo. Inter has Chivu, Muntari, Thiago Motta, Stankovic.

Many of these players I don't think Milan need, but I just wonder why we shouldn't be competeing for Chivu, Amauri, or Motta. I feel that we stress ourselves out, and it seems the management narrows its choices simply because of our non-EU spots, it's as if we forget that we can buy what we need from Serie A as well.

I'm not a Serie A supremacist, and I also agree that there are many examples (Suazo, Gila, etc) and that some players can't make the jump to a top team.

I agree with you, I would trust a player who can cope with a big team from Brazil than a middle team in Serie A. It seems that when we clearly need fresh players, we forget that instead of paying 15 million for one player, we can pay 5 million for three players. Prime example: Maxwell. He went for 4.5 million to Barca. I want Milan to be going after those players.

I completely agree also, on the stability that Milan has. It is how we are able to sustain the sort of success that Galliani and Berlusconi has given to Milan. Yes, it will go through dips. So do massive economic systems, and I remember Barca being a laughable team from like 2000-2004, and now they are considered some sort of holy team.

Real Madrid drives me insane, I can't believe they are talking about crisis now. How you can fire a coach after he wins the league (Del Bosque, Capello) is beyond me. They wonder why they haven't won the CL in so long, and that's the funny thing.

I go back and forth whether I think Kaka pushed the transfer to Real or whether he was forced to go to Real. If he was forced to go, then I'm sure he wishes he could be here, obviously. But, if he wanted to go to Real, I just wonder, does he wish he stayed?

Great posts all around guys.

Cannot agree with Samaldinho more about getting players within the Serie A, as I think there are at least one player from the rest of the Series A team that can be in the rotation for Milan right now.
The problem I see is that, other Serie A teams don't want to deal with Milan for reasons such as Milan not paying the price, or Galli is someone who they all hate. I really don't know. When you look back over the last ten years, Bonera was the last Serie A player Milan signed from another team and thats three years ago.
Point is, I don't think MIlan does not want to sign players with Serie A exp, but rather unable to for unknown reasons.

that is such an ignorant statement. the man has gotten no service. Inzaghi isnt exactly setting the world alight with his fantastic scoring. It isnt easy coming to Serie A. Huntelaar is one of the most talented box strikers in the world. give him a real chance

I think we all know what Huntelaar's characteristics are. Question is, is he suitable to our style and playing system? Ever since we lost Serginho, I don't think we've been the type of team that puts many crosses into the box and create clear-cut chances for the "targetman" to finish. We usually rely on the vision of our playmakers and quick movement from the strikers (Pato, Sheva). In that sort of a system, a more mobile striker who can drift wide and out-muscle defenders may be more useful than a targetman stationed in the box.

I say give Klaas the year and if he can't perform, then we ship him out and get someone who fits us better.

Well, I will give Hunter a few games when Beckham is here, if he still can't score with Beck's crosses, then he is really not good enough for Milan

The kind of mercato that would be perfect for a team like us each summer is:
- 2 players from our youth system
- 2 players from Serie A (Italians or not)
- 2 players from abroad (if possible trying to get players from the same country, it's easier then for them to adapt, for example 2 Brazilians, they come together, and there is already Thiago Silva, Pato, Ronaldinho, Dida who can help, anyway it isn't a "rule" to follow at all cost)

Obviously, we are far from that kind of perfect mercato for Milan, not because we don't get players from Serie A or because we get sometimes more than 2 players from abroad, but principally because we are unable to use players coming from our youth system. These players are the ones who give and keep a soul to the club, to the team (with the players who are there since 10 years).

I just found out something interesting playing FIFA 10, but all the sources I can find list Ronaldinho as 6 feet tall. For the longest time, I remembered Ronaldinho as a rather short player, so when did he grow to be this huge all of a sudden?

There you go! Only a couple of winnings (despite from less than convincing performances) and Uncle Fester said that Milan doesn't need anybody but Beckham.

Still better than Berlu coming out and say that the squad is full of champions and have more quality than any other teams as the team showed over last week by beating Real.
