its strange when Maldini is on the pitch all our players seem to have so much more confidence and eto'o would not look half as good. Maldini is the complete defender.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti said that Kaka, Alessandro Nesta, Massimo Ambrosini, Andriy Shevchenko and Cafu should be fit for the second leg in Spain after they were hurt on Saturday.
"I hope they all recover, but we will have to test their condition day by day," Ancelotti said Sunday. "A final decision will be taken after the last training session of the squad Tuesday evening." The Brazil midfielder Kaka - widely considered as the key to Milan overturning a 1-0 first-leg loss - has a badly bruised leg, as does Ambrosini after rough tackling from Messina. Nesta has a slight leg sprain, Cafu bruised his ankle, while Shevchenko has a cut on his left foot. Three Messina players were sent off as Milan won 3-1 on goals by Marek Jankulovski, Gennaro Gattuso and Alberto Gilardino. Milan also said that striker Filippo Inzaghi and veteran defender Alessandro Costacurta have both recovered from fever, while captain Paolo Maldini is also fit to play at the Camp Nou on Wednesday. souce: foxsports.com all we can do is hope now but im sure carlo will come up with something forza milan!

One question though - was the game supposed to be played at the Nou Camp or was Barca the guest in this postponed game? Asking cause torrential rains are kind of common for that area in this season and the pitch could be very dif to play on Wednesday. |

I just wanted to run this by my fellow Milanisti.
Are we not making this out to be a more monumental task than it really is. I have heard many on here say that we will need a miracle to beat Barcelona. Surely this is hyperbole. We need nothing of the sort. Had Barca beaten us 2-0 then I could have conceded that we needed a miracle- albeit a minor one. But they beat us 1-0. If we are 1-0 up with 30 mins to go I would much fancy our position because we would then have momentum. Heck if it was 1-1 with 30 mins to go I would be optimistic. And who is to say we will not bring our "A" game and spank Barca? Now I know if they score first etc. we will be in trouble but surely we can equalize if that is the case and really give it to them. All I am saying is that on a given day we can beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Benfica almost did it. Remember if we score a goal, Barca will be under pressure because any winning scoreline after 2-1 suits us...3-2, etc. We don't need a miracle. We need a very focused performance and we need to be decisive with our chances. I peg our chances of progression as 40%. Thoughts? ![]() |

My thoughts are complete agreement. This is a hard task but not on an impossible one. If San Paolo and Super Pippo start I will be even more optimistic, but I have to admit the loss of Kaka will be tough on us. But the spirit Maldini brings to the team will be enough to get us through.

My point is that even if they score 1 goal, our task/goal/game plan is still more or less the same and in no way should we lose our cool heads in case they open the score count on that night. |

true.
My only fear is that if they score first we will start to panic a bit. However, as we showed against messina we can indeed bounce back from the worst situations. But then again you may be right. If they score we will have nothing to lose and we may go for it with even greater might. Last edited by Hasan Rossonero; 23-04-2006 at 15:34. |
