id definatly get his shirt if he came... zidane 10 ... that should be nice!

For next year I believe we should get some fresh legs to enable squad rotation and maximise our chances of fighting on all fronts. I would love to see 4 new players coming in: A young central defender, 2 midfielders and a quality striker.

Defence: We need reinforcements with at least one young central defender (Barzagli, Cris or even Luisao whom I rate very highly). Also, we must utilise Jankulovski more frequently. The guy has all the qualities to become a great full back, he just needs games to improve his confidence. And we will have more than adequate replacements in Maldini, Billy, Kaladze, Serginho and Marzoratti.

In midfield, I think we would could do wonders if we snatched Riquleme from Villareal. The guy is a great player and between him and pirlo playing alongside Kaka, we would have the most potent and inventive attacking midfield in Italy and probably the world, not to mention that we would be able to rotate the midfield on a regular basis without endangering the quality of our play. Also, if we manage to get Sneijder as well, this would greatly increase our options on the wings and give our midfield an extra dimension as well as much needed speed and urgency (Seedorf could act as the experienced replacement should we need him).As for a DM, we would could stick with Gatusso, or we could offload him to Manure (only if he wants it) and we could use the money to buy someone like Mascherano who has a lot of potential and won't cost us as much as Diarra).

I would love it if we off loaded Amoruso at the end of season and replaced him with an experienced quality striker like Lucarelli who probably has at least another two good seasons in him, plus he wouldnt cost us an arm and a leg. I think Pippo is a great option that we have, but the problem with him now is that he is too injury prone and if we miss him for more than a couple of months we tend to suffer if Sheva is off form. Not to mention that Gila is still taking his time to settle in Milan. In 2 yrs time, Gila would have fully developed and matured, and also we could sell Lucarelli and Inzaghi and replace them with a quality young striker and Sheva could act as our Golden Sub.

I think this way we could cosiderably enhance both our defensive and attaking options. Reduce the average age of the squad and ensure the teams success in the forseeable future. Finally, whoever we get, I just hope that Carlito starts rotating the squad more often so that are top players arent running out of steam by the end of the season (e.g. Pirlo, Kaka, Sheva, Nesta).

Hey Graeme, come to think of it you're probably right about Lucarelli as he probably won't settle for 4th choice

However, I think that a midfield with Kaka, Riquelme, Sneijder and Gatusso could easily work. Slot in Riquelme for Pirlo, and Sneijder for Seedorf and that's it. Although Sneijder is small in stature he has rapidly established himself in the role of midfield general. He is deceptively strong on the ball and his passing range is enhanced by his two-footedness so he could easily fulfill the seedorf role of creating chances and holding up the ball.

Also, another good thing is that the above four can be utilised in a diamond formation

**I know he plays as a RM for Ajax but as I mentioned before he is a 2 footed player so I'm sure he won't find it impossible to adapt.

Of course if Gatusso leaves for Man U we could always get Mascherano instead who has both tenacity and technical ability. And the midfield could look like this

id rather have seedorf in the lineup than sneijder, hes nothing near as good and influential as seedorf is...

if gattuso leaves which i doubt, we would probably get diarra for sure unless hes already bought by someone, id like to have riqueme but do u have any idea how much he will cost? not to mention mascherano and sneijder aswell

Well, I agree that for a) Financial reasons b) Maintaining team balance, we shouldn't get more than 2 midfielders. Either Sneijder and Riquelme or Sneijder and Mascherano. Riquleme would be very difficult as he would probably cost us a bit (but I'm certain he would be worth every cent). As for Mascherano, he may not be as tenacious as Diarra, but I believe he's a more well rounded player with technical abilities as well. Plus, Lyon would not let go off Diarra unless we pay them a fortune. Thus I believe Masherano would be a better option.

As for Seedorf, I have to disagree with you as he's been one of our main underperformers over the last couple of years. He has some very good games, but they are far and between. Not to mention that he's not getting any younger. Sneijder is a very talented and multi-dimensional player, and he will inject some pace into our attacks. I'm sure with a big club like milan he will become one of the best very soon.

Well, we'll need a team thats consistant, with Pirlo, and Sheva having an 'off' season, even tho they are class players...my team for the forth coming season would be...

GK: Dida, Abbati (Had a good season with Juve)

Def: Cafu, Nesta, Billy, Kaladze, Serginho, Maldini, Oddo (Had long interest for him) (Stam leaving) (Simic might leave as he hasn't played much)

Mid: Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka , (Ambrosini will leave), Jankulovski (Will get more game time i think) (Rui Costa will leave to Benfica)

Str: Sheva, Gila, Insaghi (Amoroso will go back)

All in all, pretty much the same sort of team as this year with a few exeptions!

Next season, we'll have to go for the treble to make up for the past 2 years!

i think if we have to spend big, id only look at diarra... thats the player that i think if we got him would add alot to our team, hes simply superb... he is the worlds best DM, nothing gets by him and he is good at joining the attack and starting plays, which is very rare these days (more old school like rijkaard desailly and makelele).... riquelme id love to have here, but i wouldnt be so sure he would be worth his value which should be around 18M, he likes it when the game is going slowly, hes very lethal in that situation, but when the team likes to play fast football like we do (in a way) then i doubt hes as good (its one of the reasons he messed up at barca, theyre game is too fast)

mascherano is not going to be any cheaper, corinthians are in a way owned by abrahmovic and he wouldnt sell him just like that... he would cost around 15M with everyone else also wanting him

sheva looked bothered the whole season coz of his injury. he probably wanted to keep himself fresh for the wc but it doesn't mean that he did not play well. we are used to see him score lot more goals and that's he might appear to us as if he under performed. he still remains our jewel!

i think his numbers are very good compared to his performances, to be honest i wouldnt say its an off season, but its just that im used to seeing sheva more agile than he is this season, i think maybe its only his last 2 months or so.. at the start he was normal (the best)

I really dont see any point in all these new threads of what u expect or what u want Milan to have next year.

All I want is our usual starting lineup for next year, and Carlo ofcourse. Obviously we will not be getting any 10+ million players. As Carlo said, some will leave and a few adjustments have already been made. Im guessing we will bring in a player in for Vogel who will most likely leave. Stam is leaving, but I dont think we will be getting Oddo. Simic will also leave. Amoroso is not needed, we can use Boriello or Ardemagni (or invest in a young Brazilian like Rafael Sobis or Kerlon) instead of him.

I also hope Jankulovski shows his real self next year and gives Seedorf some competition for the left midfield spot (ofcourse getting Robben wouldnt hurt ). We should stop dreaming of Diarra simply because he is too expensive and doesnt want to leave, and especially doesnt want to sit on the bench at Milan. Pirlo has been horribly inconsistent through out the year, but Carlo kept using him on and on and never used Vogel.

Dida must remain and we do not need any replacements for him. I also firmly believe we will need a world-class CB in Lugano or Alex. The latter being the more important for his European experience and for an extra weapon in free-kicks that we really lack. Another thing I'd like to see for next season is Carlo being more risky and playing with different formations, and not being afraid to drop players that are not in form like Gila, Sheva, and Pirlo.

I would be disappointed to see Rui leave, but if he did, I would hope in getting a world-class youngster in Sergio Aguero and not Wesley Sneijder. He just doesnt impress me. Getting Michael Ballack would be a great move, I still think that this move is on the cards as Ballack is trying everything he can to delay the transfer to Chelsea. I think the Premiership does not fascinate him.

It's always like this after a defeat or us getting ousted from a tournament. People are just trying to let all that frustration and disappointment out by fooling themselves that galliani would stumble upon this forum and would listen to their idea of how Milan can be improved.
