The thing with Gila, hes the kind of striker who we culd dump and then become a goal machine like Pippo after some time. The mystery is how long to wait before giing up on him. Regardless, we all kno that a couple of CL goals can change everything.

maybe he's just not right for Milan.

look at Forlan at Man U. Now even though he had a good spell after his long drought he never really looked like more than a competent substitute. At Villareal he looks world class though.

What about some consistency? If we really want to make a "make or break" decision on Gila, then we need to start playing him consistently---every game for at least 1-2 months. Then we'll know for sure whether he's able to contribute. The way things are going now, Ancelotti is rotating the squad--Gila got a game yesterday, may not get a game this weekend, may then play again next week. It's just not enough to get him in any kind of rhythm. I say play him and rotate Pippo with RO. After all, we've made a hefty investment in him---it'll be good to see if he was worth it.

I really like him - his passion, his diligence, and his loyalty. I am sure that he will pay us back and I am patient with him.

still funny that people talking about this. Yes, he didn't score in CL yet and that's something to be criticized. Other than that, I don't see why people complain about him not scoring more than Sheva last year. HE scored 19 GOALS WITHOUT penalty (and who stolen all those penalty but Shevchenko?) You do the maths.

he has failed to score a single goal in 13 CL games... an average striker would have been axed... what more a WC winner who supposedly is a *world*COUGH*class* striker? as for givin' him a PK to boost his almost zero confidence might backfire... imagine what it would be like if he missed?

I think Gila is a great striker. He is already world class, as he showed in WC and the France-Italy match in September. He has all the qualities a striker can desire. A typical italian striker, not excellent in a particular quality but but good and complete in every department. He just needs to understand how good he is. His problem is that he has faced a warm up experience at the highest levels. If you miss a goal during Parma- Udinese it's different than missing the same goal in Milan-Barcelona.
But when he will find the right attitude and self conscioussness, guys, he will bag loads of goals. A prove? Inzaghi at the same age of Gila played in clubs like Piacenza or Atalanta and had no caps with Italy yet. Gila just needs to understand how good he is.

ps. i play as striker with friends, nothing serious, but the way Gila plays with the team has inspired me.

pps.i don't think our game right now particularly suits Gila's movements. The only one who seems to assist him well is Jankulovski. Cafu, Pirlo and Kaką rarely serve him with consistency

Did he play all 13 games?
And he did score in the World Cup. I'm not defending him about not scoring in CL, though.

I have every confidence in him and i'm sure when he finds his rhythm he'll score plenty of goals.
