if thats true then carlo needs to get his heart out of his behind, so what if gorky lost a few balls , thats how every young player gain exp., plus isnt football, no , life about taking risks. i hope someone understands me.

Hes a very impressive player good speed, and when neeeded he does what he needs to do. I dont know what milan fans think about him, but seeing him play in person, hes a great player and rising star. My opinion though others may have different. If he stays at milan he should do alot. He should a great performance and almost scored againt my boys: Inter in the tim trophy!

Gorky's not very pleased. He's not the new Zidane anymore, he's new Youri. God people make up your minds.

Gourcuff Wants More Milan Playing Time

Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff has bemoaned his lack of first-team opportunities at the club and says he expects to be playing more.

The Frenchman is seen as one of the most promising young players in Serie A, but with a plethora of talent ahead of him in the Rossoneri midfield, the 21-year-old has found chances hard to come by.

Last season Gourcuff made just 14 appearances for Milan and things are not particularly improving this time around.

"It would be really important for my future if I get some more chances to play," said Gourcuff.

"If I played in a less important team than Milan, maybe I'd have more space to play, but I'm very happy to be playing in what I consider to be the strongest team in the world.

"Compared to what I expected last summer, I'm not playing much, but I hope to get more space to play over the course of the season.

Gourcuff signed for Milan from Rennes in 2006 and is considered by some to be the 'new Youri Djorkaeff', after the ex-Inter and Monaco star.

---------

Galliani's response:

"Gourcuff is partly right when he says that he hoped he would get more playing time, because that's what he agreed on with our coach last summer,” Galliani conceded.

“But that was before we got the chance to sign Emerson, even though we had told Gourcuff we would buy no one in midfield to allow him more playing time.

“However, Gourcuff has to understand he is lucky to be playing in the team that has won the most trophies in the world, and if he is really that good he should be able to break through into the side, even if now we have one more midfielder.

“Nevertheless, I can understand his situation and I didn't get angry about what he said.”

I agree with the kid. The season is early and all but 20-25 minutes at the end of each game can't be THAT hard to give him. Especially when he has been on par with the rest of our creative midfielders and we're not exactly spoilt for choices and therefore should be trying to keep our guys fit. Now he's dropped from the U-21 side and the national team is even further away. Let's hope the situation changes and he gets to feature prominently for us by season end.

Gourcuff was lied too. Galliani's practically admits it. They know that the kid hasn't gotten a fair shake. (as yet)

How are we ever going to have quality depth in the midfield creatively speaking if no one else gets a chance because..."It's KAKA & SEEDORF" in the midfield and god forbid they get subed off in a game that we're winning 3 - 0 in the first half. It called player development.

Barca have Dos Santos who they are inserting in the line-up by taking off RONALDINHO one of the best players in the world.

So I don't see why Gourcuff can be subed in for Seedorf or KAKA? How do ever expect to develop young talent if we give them 10 minutes every 7 games?

The kid never said he wanted to start, he said he wanted more minutes, Milan management said yes, and then did nothing about it...until now if this report is true.

Not saying the kid is the be all and end all, or even that he's even as good as people think he is, but he definately need waaaay more time in games situations to prove himself either way.

Gilardino has been given plenty time to unlock the potential we see within him and get to form...why isn't this kid being given the same opportunity?

Yup...sometimes i feel the kid will not unlock his true potential if the situation stays like this I just remember Kaka when he did wonderful job on his first season it just because Rui Costa got himself injured then Kaka plays otherwise he will ended being loaned to PSG if i not mistaken

Gorky, even though i don't see him as being exceptional, like a Dos Santos, Messi, Niko Kranjcar, Nasri, BenArfa, etc. i think he needs more playing time to develop his confidence and composure. However, recently milan have been finding it difficult to win games in the first 60 or 70 minutes, so the coach cant compromise the points accumulation for child development... His chance will come when Milan starts to finish off teams within the first hour or so, then he can be brought in the game for development.

Kaka is an exceptional case. He came when we still had Rui and Rivaldo (before he terminated his contract around November) and claimed his spot in the starting 11 right away. I don't think it's because of Rui's injury as he played in 28 games in season 2003/2004. in his first season Kaka -in his tender age of 21 y.o- played in 30 seria A games and scored 10 goals.

I think people are making mountains out of molehills with Gourcuff. He needs to play yes, but I don't think it needs to rush, as he is still only 21. It's a little unfair to him that we got Emerson and his minutes reduced (I honestly don't see why Emerson would reduce his minutes), but at a club like Milan, it's always going to be competitive, and Emerson was a necessary signing to add depth to our midfield.

Kaka and Seedorf are and will be first team players if they're fit, but in Gourcuff's case, he's an unreliable talent, which I'm sure Ancelotti's case, he doesn't want to take risks. Brocchi for me hasn't added much to our side, but in all honesty, he doesn't make mistakes that Gourcuff does (like the goals against Celtic), which is why Carlo persists with him. Gourcuff needs to work on these elements of his game (another is holding the ball too long) and show in training that he will do the job when played in matches.

In Gila's case, it's a bit different, as we knew his capabilities in Serie A from his Parma days (Gourcuff can't compare), and he's a good few years older than Gourcuff, as well as more mature (he defends set pieces but never makes the mistakes Gourcuff does for example).

Gourcuff is a massive talent, but still very much raw. However, he's got a good few years ahead of him before he's expected to reach heights where he's showing world class talents, and until then, he's got to work as hard as possible to develop and mature his game. If he can learn from mistakes, it's certain Carlo will give him chances.

He will get to play for sure even if it is just 10 matches this year. The fact is that AC milan have many other great strikers that ancelotti feels can produce more ahead of him. Example kaka and ronaldo. He still has many years in his career as he is only 21. He is still a growing player. If he trains properly and regularly, he will become an even better player as he gtes older. Right now i see gourcouff as the recoba of ac milan. If he sees his career passing him buy with only a couple of games to his name a year then he should move on maybe a loan. We wll see though as in the next coming years some milan players may retire opening the door for him. To early to see though.

I don't think anybody expects him to start ahead of Seedorf or Kaka, especially not in the important games. I just don't see what's so difficult about giving the guy 20 mins at the end of the match especially since our midfield is so thin, we need to keep players fresh. Also I think it's especially BECAUSE he's 21 he should be playing more. The only way for the kid to improve is for him to play, make mistakes, and work on correcting them. Otherwise he'll be at the same level at the beginning of this season as at the end. Then he'd have basically wasted a year of his career.

I think you partly misunderstood me. Often the last 20 mins, for him to be given a run out we need to have closed the game, which this season we rarely do, and clearly Carlo doesn't like to risk him. At 21, a player can play regularly at a smaller club, but in a large club, they have to perform at a certain level. Gourcuff unlike many young talents has both offensive and defensive duties in our side, and so must be competent in both, but right now he's mistake-prone and so we must treat him delicately. Him playing regularly could benefit him, but he should only play when ready, which he's not shown yet, that's why he has to prove himself in training first.

I also don't think we'll see this problem through the whole season, as the more it progresses the more Carlo will probably look to rotate to keep players fresh.

All I'm really saying is let's not panic and show patience with the guy.
